I always feel bad cause like

I want to like Sonic for more than the memes but like

Goddamn his games have just never clicked with me. I haven't played a single Sonic game I've enjoyed. I remember my friends going on and on about Adventure 2 back in highschool and like, "Wow, this game controls like ass."
There are some flaws in Sonic Adventure 2, some of which have not aged well, but that game still has a special place in my heart.

Eh, not every game will click with every person. I’m not even a huge Sonic fan myself, only having played a handful of the games.

I think it’s fine if you simply enjoy the characters, and the humor that comes with it. Some people will try to gatekeep, but they’re troglodytes.

I hope Sonic Heroes gets a remake, it was one of my childhood games.

Now if only Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak got a Switch port so I don't have to emulate it (not that I mind doing that but y'know my physical copy is broken, even if I think I get it to work it starts glitching during the introduction sequence after booting up; my Rainbow Rescue copy doesn't work either iirc).

also Pac-Man World 2 cries

Colors getting a remake is cool though, I haven't played it and I'm interested in it, I think I kinda wanted or was at least interested in it when it was still new but I don't remember if I actually asked my parents for it or not.

They're remaking TLoU?

...When it ain't even a decade old yet?

...When graphically, it ain't gonna even look all that much different than TLoU2?

Yeah lol okay Sony.
God, I'm ****ing tired of Sony's new "realistic cinematic experiences only, let's kill nearly everything else" approach. They're appealing to one audience and one audience only, and leaving out almost all of the rich history of IPs that don't appeal to that audience in the trash - and then they never try to branch out into other audiences with any potential new IPs, and then they keep gutting dev teams just because they can't be arsed to take risks anymore and are banking solely on their Big Western Studios. And then, for the cherry on the cake, they actively refuse to rerelease their older games now because their ****ty CEO pushes the absolutely ****ing ASININE idea that old games have no value cause they're old.

I usually try to keep calm about these kinds of dumb VG company decisions, unless it involves something really, REALLY serious. Like, a "man that really sucks" at most. But I am actively pissed at this. The sheer disregard Sony is showing for every other part of their audience right now is unreal.

****ing hell.

Hard to "ruin" the Adventure games seeing as how they're already extremely flawed and dated.

And I say this as someone who still enjoys playing them.
Yeah but if they remade them they would remove the things that made them charming to begin with.

I've tried some of the classic games, but Labyrinth zone(I think that's the maze in Sonic 1?) made me like :emptysheep:

SA2 felt like absolute crap for me to play

I guess to me, my idea of what Sonic is is "GO FAST NEVER STOP!", so when you suddenly throw in slow platforming into the mix that breaks the "GOGOGO!". it kinda makes me lose interest lol.

Play either Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Mania and live a little, my dude.

Both games have pretty top notch level design that blends speed and platforming together quite well.

Hey, I say enjoy 'em however y'all wanna enjoy 'em. The games themselves are definitely not for everyone, and speaking as someone who adores SA1 and 2 more than Mario 64 nowadays (NGL though, the modding community for the Steam ports helped a lot with that), Sonic game controls are kinda butts sometimes, lol.

If you ever did wanna give Sonic games another shot, though, I'd definitely reccommend the PC ports if you can play them, because the modding community took what was already (IMO, at least) great games and made them 10x better. SA2 has entire physics revamp mods that make it soooooooo much better: It'd be really hard for me to go back that this point, lol.

And hey, if going fast is your speed (heh), check out the boost games (except maybe not Forces 'cause it's kind of poo), their main gimmick was nonstop speed.

I feel like Sonic Heroes did a pretty good job at it as well, thanks to how each team and individu member plays to the puzzles each level throws at you. The performance of the Dreamcast era cast only makes it a lot better, since they actually put some solid effort into it (which I’ve noticed for a majority of Sonic casts before a recast).

Sonic 1 kinda aged the most out of all the classic game, so I think all the other one (beside maybe CD) should be more fun for ya. (even if games like 2 have alot of "screw you" moment due to how the camera work).

Mania is definitly a game you want to try if you got the chance. As the level design is much more forgiving & still really fun.

Slowing down in a Sonc game isn't always a bad thing too, especially on your first run. Sonic is the kind of game that once you get it & play more & work, you know how to avoid the slow stuff and speerdun at the speed of sound....somewhat.

In all cases tho no forcing, play them if f you want it.

Yeah, I can see Sonic is not for everyone. I know the 3D Sonic games are not for everyone, and yet there are some people who call themselves Sonic fans continuing to buy Sonic games despite that those people say things that clearly show those games were not for them,

Heroes' greatest blessing was an actual fun to play as Big the Cat and the entire OST being amazing.

Namely Frog Forest being amazing.

I personally think Heroes is a mess and the dialogue is too cheesy for the cast performances to strike me as particularly good.

I genuinely feel like Sonic heroes is really underrated.

Though i played the gamecube version, which is the one without glitches, most people played the PS2 version.
I like Heroes a lot, and I think it does get a bit of the short end of the stick. Really, I think a good PC port would do wonders for it: Letting the modding community have a go at it would be fantastic.

I kinda get why the original studio wanted to remake TLOU, but why make Naughty Dog do it once you tell the other guys no? It already looks good, and anyone who has a PS5 and PS+ has the remaster, so why make one of your biggest studios waste funds on it?

I’ve played a couple sonic games(specifically the original 3, a few of the DS ones, and Forces) but they just never clicked for me.

Always felt like, for a game that is focused on speed, it puts way too many roadblocks in your path specifically to slow your pace down. lol.

My guess is that with the interactive movie video game mindset they have and nothing else, Sony has a limited number of games to focus on and therefore want to make such a remake.

Sony is way out of their heads...

Because Naughty Dog is a big name studio and gets the money. And everyone on the smaller studio jumped ship because they didn't want to become another Vicarious Visions.

RIP VV, they successfully revived a dead PS1 franchise, and are now doomed to make Overwatch skins for the rest of their lives.

I've seen that game in a video or old commercial or something, I'm not sure, but I've only played the two GBA games I mentioned. I may try it sometime though.

In that case just make a ****ing Jak and Daxter film for the PS5.

I'm sure people would at least enjoy that.
