Thanks. When I read the prompt, I immediately thought of Ben Franklin, and I knew I needed an Amorphous Pokemon to be his kite.

Round 13 Judging!

----------

vVv ChiboSempai – Cleopatra & Cofagrigus

F8AL: I like where you were going with making Cofagrigus Cleopatra's pokemon. I feel like Cleopatra really does resemble your sprite and I like what you did with it. I can really feel like she's supposed to be an egyptian pokemon trainer with a coffin as a pokemon. Overall, good job with the sprite, I like it!

Firus: You’ve designed a pretty easily recognizable Cleopatra sprite, especially with the combination of her and Cofagrigus. Her headpiece and hair almost immediately get the idea across, and the dress you gave her adds to it. The outlines around her feet are a little strange, and her feet look a little square. Also, I would’ve gone down a little further with the line in the dress to show the fold going all the way down, as it would look more realistic that way, although that doesn’t detract from the sprite too much. As a whole, however, this is a good sprite combination.

Neon Ness: You’ve designed Cleopatra well and the Pokeball in hand is a great touch. The shading on the dress is flat in some areas (some deeper folds around the legs might have given the impression of cloth/fabric more fully) but I like the base sprite you chose for the way she’s standing, very imposing. I approve of Cofagrigus as her companion, nice.

F8AL: 9/10
Firus: 8/10
Neon Ness: 8/10
FINAL: 8.33/10

CrimsonFeint – Steve Irwin & Krokorok

F8AL: I feel like your idea for your sprite this week was really pulled together well. It really does have a resemblance to Steve Irwin and Krokorok. I'm confident that this is one of the many pokemon that Steve would own along with other marine aquatic life. Overall, a good sprite and a nice way on keep him in our memories.

Firus: Interesting idea, and a well-made sprite. Steve Irwin is very recognizable, especially when complimented by Krokorok. You also did a good job altering his clothing to resemble a typical outfit of his, and the rock is an effective addition to the ensemble. His socks are a little tall and dark, which distracts from the rest of the sprite to an extent; I also think he’d be a little more recognizable if you altered his haircut rather than just the hair color. Overall, though, it’s a solid sprite.

Neon Ness: Clean sprite. I almost immediately recognized him, the costume is fairly simple but I can tell you put effort into it. The pose is truly awesome and worthy of the Crocodile Hunter himself, really captures his personality. The shading on the socks is a bit dark and slightly unnatural looking, since it’s the only area on his sprite with such a deep black, and I think changing his haircut could have pushed this even further. Overall though great idea, great execution.

F8AL: 8.5/10
Firus: 8/10
Neon Ness: 8/10
FINAL: 8.17/10

Wretched – Ben Franklin & Rotom (Kite Forme)

F8AL: I feel like if any pokemon were to go with Ben Franklin, it would be a kite rotom. Your sprite looks well done except I feel that the face is slightly blurry and should be cleaned up a bit more and the hair needs to distinguish itself better from the background. (Depending on the forum skin that you're using) Otherwise, good job turning Rotom into a kite and nice idea!

Firus: I really like what you did with this sprite. Not only did you create a Ben Franklin trainer which very closely resembles him, but you went to the next level with his accompanying Pokémon such that even if the trainer sprite didn’t get it across, the Pokémon surely gives it away. I love that you infused Rotom with Ben Franklin, not only combining the two, but creating a new forme for Rotom to fit the concept better, and the kite forme is well-made for the most part. The electricity coming off on the right side looks a bit strange, and I might’ve left off the mouth, but other than that it’s very good. As for Ben Franklin himself, his clothing matches him well and his hair and face effectively portray him as well, though the shading on his forehead looks a little strange. This sprite combination really pulls it together, though; it’s a very creative concept and a well-executed sprite.

Neon Ness: Incredible. I have to give you credit for going the extra mile and doing something really unique here. Not only did you give Rotom a new form that looks convincing, but you’ve made the Trainer and Pokemon really interact with one another in your submission. The shading is sound for the most part, and his costume design and stance are excellent. Really I’m just impressed by how clever this is.

F8AL: 7.5/10
Firus: 9/10
Neon Ness: 9.5/10
FINAL: 8.67/10

The background is white because most forum background colors clash with the color scheme of the sprite :X

>Implying judges don't take this into consideration
I do think the judges would take it into consideration. I just made it white so they didn't have to load it on another page if part of it seemed obscured.
Also, I'm just taking a wild guess, but putting a > doesn't change the color of text to represent a quote. That's some other site. :troll:

I like it, but just for some critique, I can't tell what two Pokemon this is right off the bat.
Even upon consideration, I'm still not sure what two Pokemon are fused. If you're going to try and do a "color swirl" like this, it'd be better to follow the segments of the body (aka, don't just put gray on his head crest, but maybe alternate red-grey-red from body-forearm-claw).
Also, the legs are awkwardly placed and sized, they don't look like they're coming out of the sockets. If you're fusing it with a smaller Pokemon, you'd have to make everything else smaller in proportion. In many cases, it's better to just use the smaller Pokemon as the base.

Here are some sprites I have done with Scizor, just to show you how difficult he is to work with. Scizor's sprite is very finicky when it comes to body proportions in comparison with other Pokemon:

Scizor + Infernape

Scizor + Probopass + Metang (it's easier to use Probopass because his features are so large and...alterable...if that's a word)

Start with taking the most distinguishable feature from the other Pokemon and adding it to Scizor. It doesn't even have to be the most recognized feature, but something that defines an area of the body (Like, in the first fusion, Infernape's jaw) and work around that. Once you add a few of the features, you'll focus less on trying to add more features and more on just recoloring.

Good luck =)

Alright, here's my entry. Fusing a couple of my favourite pokémon:

Lickitoed!

EDIT: This looks better on white background, the hair looks ugly and the outline loses its prominence with the forum background.

This is my final entry.
I looked up some tips and tricks. I hope you can tell what two pokemon created the final product.

Hah, whenever I'm drawing I always have to come back to things that I find that I never noticed were majorly wrong. I'm doing a touchup because I see so many things that I don't like now. I was redoing the arms right when you posted :X.

Chimecho + Gothorita = Chimorita

Chimecho is too happy, and Gothorita hates the world too much, so maybe if we smash them together we'll get a happy young girl....or a demented doll.

Yay! Ingulit is spriting too! :) I love making things by hand (I had to do Lickitoed's belly swirl 100% from scratch).

Nice entries everyone, love the activity this basic prompt brought to the contest!

Shucklegon's neck looks like it should be smoother, otherwise, a very elegant splice.

Presenting Clefforus!

A mixture of Cleffa and Landorus.

This takes the large bulking body of Landorus, and gives it sort of a soft touch. You aren't really sure if Clefforus is supposed to be angry or not. A lot of features have been removed from Landorus to give it a simplistic feel of a baby Pokemon, and yet strong muscles were kept in combination with the cute little face that it clashes with in a comedic way. The base of the tail sort of thing was changed to a more yellow tone, which I felt gave it a better idea of like a moon rock sort of feel (even though we know the moon isn't yellow), it gives it the appropriate cosmic feel imo.

Thanks! Porygon was my favorite Pokemon until Shuckle came out, and when I saw Porygon2 I thought they would look good together. It would be my favorite Rock/Normal type ever *w*

I tried thinning the neck a bit, so this is my final entry:

Shucklegon

EDIT: Gah, the image should work now

Shucklegon (Shuckle + Porygon2)

I had to make this in Paint (basically by hand), which takes forever. It was fun, though.

Don't worry about using Paint, some of us do ours in Paint too. =P
and OMG I think I did this sprite for the Custom Pokemon Shop lol.
