Ditto :( well I'm gonna buy it and hope for the best who knows maybe I just won't play it for like a year or two and just come back and read all the new tricks and play again LOL.

Anyway Woz I'm glad you made it to pound 3 :) always a pleasure to hang out with you sir ;).

Also Doyoung is amazing as always :) and Scar is an amazing person with an amazing face when he saw a Jiggs ditto on MUTE CITY LOL.

Pakman - good stuff you deserved going to the third death pool :( I had fun playing you though >_<.

Cactus - LOL at your fox you don't shoot lasers wtf >_>. And thanks again to you and Woz for putting me in the regional crews and .. believing in me I hope LOL.
Dude, I'm happy to have recommended you. Not only did you make up for M2K's squandering, but you went ahead and gave us more than we could ever hope for.

You, sir, are hot and amazing.

from what I have played, you have to time everything so that you fast fall at a certain animation.

possibly i did not look at the video but I did test out things with marth and ninjalink did some things with ike that increased his speed and ability. Though most of it was pivot turning. Either way many characters have certain moves that do not lag and u can decrease lag by fast falling to a certain animation from what i seen.

Hey guys, it's been a while. After that last server problem a month or so ago, I've been a little lazy with the boards.

I really like Brawl, and I'm maining Lucario, even though I don't think he's exceptional from the time I've spent with the game.

And I miss wavedashing.

I want to expect better of you, but I know not to
I miss it to but doing combos with marf is just as fun ^^
I disagree. All marf combos are just a huge string of fairs. That's boring. Fun marf combos involve lots of utilts and uairs and end in spiking or tippering your opponent. I dunno, the game just doesn't feel like it has any depth. I'm just gonna play Yeti Kong and monkey punch people to take out my frustration that it's a terrible replacement for our beloved Melee...

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Someone on smashboards gets it.

On shoryuken.com so many people are saying this.

Brawl is the baby of melee and Street Fighter.

I have seen vids of good players and they rely more on the ground game and they walk more too. They only dash to quickly get in an attack.

Brawl is more like a traditional slower fighter.

QFT...though i think its slower now until people feel the system out then it will pick up. IMO...though unlike 3rd strike i feel the characters are a lot more balanced

Ex.

Gannon is ridic slow but has strength and priority

Metaknight is fast easy to use and combo friendly but his smashes are too weak. Though you can probably fair a person off a stage but I have yet to try that technique.

Metaknight seems broken and I think Lucario has a certain broken technique thats almost like a pseudo-shffling? IDK, but pokemon trainer was pretty fun to use lol.

dmbrandon: Ok? Brawl is slower and more tradtional due to the emphasis on spacing and the lack of techs that allow for greater mobility.

People can enjoy whatever they want, I'm just stating what I have deduced from watching vids and what pretty much everyone one from SRK and all the melee pros have concluded.

Brawl plays like Street Fighter with melee elements.

So what does being able to nejoy somehting new have to do with anything?

Your comment made no sense.
I was agreeing with you. Brawl is awesome. Everyone is getting all bent over it being slower, and I was commenting. Stop being so grumpy today.

Ok, then. Too be honest, the way you worded it was wierd, so I wasn't too sure.

I'll edit that post I made.

I agree with everything here.

On an unrelated note, @ DM: I don't know what you're saying about enjoying something new but that phrase is irritating the hell out of me recently. This is what I've noticed.

There are people who are still getting better at Melee and people who aren't. All of the people who have peaked at Melee can't wait for it to end and keep throwing "something new" out there, and also advising me to let go or whatever. The "new"ness doesn't bother me so much as the fact that this is mass delusion.

It's just people trying to convince themselves that they actually do like Brawl as opposed to the simple fact that they're tired of losing in Melee. If you're tired of losing, just say it. Don't tell ME that I need to let go.

All the people who keep getting better at Melee want to keep playing Melee and aren't too excited for Brawl since it seems like it doesn't have the pace nor the depth of its predecessor. Seems is a somewhat operative word, but really, it doesn't look to me like it's going anywhere.

That game is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!!.

its the way CVS2 plays on high level that it seems slow, nothing but pokes, spacing and mindgames, but once u land a hit, those custom combos are crazy good....that brings up the question, will brawl be similar? if so, that is truly exciting to me, i have yet to play brawl, so i am not passing judgment on it yet.

CVS2 takes 2 years to finish lol

Anyway I think, like with other games and based on that history, that there will be new players and a bigger influx of people all the while figuring out how things work.

Though I base it off FPS (halo series) and SF series the idea is sound that while a certain version is not as good as previous, more people play it feeling they have a better chance at winning. For example, excluding Justin Wong, I do not recall many players who were able to make the transition from MVC2 to CVS2 ( the considered NEXT vs game ). Even a simpler idea. ST --> 3s many if not everyone who is good at ST do not play well in 3s minus a select few who were willing to give SF3/DI/3s a try.

While it is skeptical according to Scar I do believe it has a chance.

My one concern is the lesser intelligence players bashing melee for being too competitive. I think it is ignorant and stupid. That is where I agree with Scar...they think they will be good at brawl cause its "new" and thats total bull. I know that you can learn how to use a character but in the end it is about learning how and WHEN to use moves and when not to.

Ex : In brawl I can spam Fair with marf but all someone has to do is power shield at the right time.

It is about mindgames that make things like brawl good. At least in my opinion.

Personally I cannot wait to see noobs get rapped in brawl just to here their excuse on why they lost.

Understand the game and how to think and you master the concept known as mindgames.

Nah bro, I'm always for new games. Except Naruto:GNT ex/2. 4 will be king forever.

I was the first to jump for MvC2, and Third Strike, and I've been an avid gamer in competitive tournaments for years. I reached number one status in Tony Hawk's Underground, making thousands, but after the sequal came out, I quit because I didn't like it. The fact is, there's not reason for people to say they won't play brawl because it's bad. This game is fast, and fun, and will have a strong competitive future.

It has depth, believe you me. In fact, there's more you can do in this game, with the air dodging system. And I'm not tired of losing anything. When I did play, I showed up and placed at least 3rd to almost every tourn I went to.

omg. Hi I'm Vega, and I'm 7 times faster than any character in this game, and yes... I'm top tier! ^_~

Defensive play > offensive play in CvS2.

But I love CvS2 so it's cool.

Also, Sagat says hi and I am super slow and patient.

Not true. I haven't gotten better at Melee in a long time and really don't care much for Brawl beyond as a fun new game to play at this point after playing it for a whole day. Frankly, the controls annoy the **** out of me, feel very restricting and sloppy, and it's almost like I'm not only just fighting my opponent, but fighting against the game itself to get it to do what I want.
