I'm thinking it'll be the Cranky Kong reveal in Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. Afterall Cranky just was recentlu revealed on the boxart of that game. So it seems more likely to be that than anything from Smash. I have a feeling the next time we have a big reveal in Smash it will be for a Nintendo Direct or E3.

And yeah, I figured some idiots would be gasping at straws in trying to use that as an argument against Ridley during my time off from CrashBoards. What else is new? May as well speculate that King K. Rool will end up being like Dark Emperor (role-wise) because they're both green and both are "royal" characters.

The wait is really starting to get to me about that stupid Pyrosphere caption. I'm just hoping that if Ridley was a stage hazard he would have been shown off by now. Right? RIGHT?!

Also, I'm going to expect nothing over the weekend because the last time I was hyped for a reveal at an event (such as PAX), nothing happened. The fact that we haven't got a newcomer since June 12th and the fact that it will be 6 months ago in a week just makes this a bigger CODE RED for me. I know making new characters takes time, but seriously.

Stage hazards that hadn't been shown seem to have been explicitly avoided, but we've seen an awful lot of Pyrosphere.

I don't expect Smash Bros. this weekend. Maybe a new Zelda or Retro Studios being back on Metroid.

Lots of Too Bigots popping up in this thread lately. Ridley also needs all the help he can get. I know most of you guys are still optimistic about Ridley being in Smash 4, however, right now the Project M team is still deciding newcomers for Project M, and if Sakurai comes out with Stage Hazardley, we could still have a playable Ridley in Smash Bros. via Project M. However, only massive fan support can make that a reality.

A stage hazard just seems like the least likely thing he could be if not playable. Generally speaking a stage hazard is a big step down from boss, he was a stage hazard on this exact stage in Dead or Alive Dimensions, and we've seen a lot of Pyrosphere with no Ridley wandering around. Plus we saw other major character appearances on stages pretty quickly after the reveal.

I mean he might not be playable but I'm doubting he's a stage hazard at the very least.

It was the 6th November, the image where Link spikes Samus with his new D-air buff. So yeah, a month ago today.

It was time for Pyrosphere to go on the backburner anyways, it was the stage which was shown the third most I'm fairly certain, only behind Battlefield and the Boxing Ring, which is odd considering other revealed stages such as the Galaxy one and the Pikmin one are rarely shown (heck, we haven't seen the Galaxy stage since its reveal).

The Cranky Kong "reveal" was actually a leak. An Italian retailer accidentally posted the "updated" cover art too early. Considering when it was leaked, which was very recently, it's certainly very possible we'll see Cranky in action at VGX. It'd be stupid yes, but that doesn't stop it from being the thing.

Because it wouldn't be the first time Nintendo would be clueless about the kind of audience they put on a show for I'm sure.

It does seem more like a Direct thing though, I don't think Nintendo would even make the effort to hype such a thing up and reveal a trailer at a big show, just to show a playable DKC character. Heck, it would only work in a Direct, since non-Nintendo fans wouldn't care at all that you can now play as an old monkey, and Cranky sure isn't going to sell any Wii Us this christmas either. I guess I'm just keeping my expectations low.

Not really up to going at it with toobigots right now, but will definitely keep that all in mind. Hopefully if Ridley does get confirmed as a stage hazard during one of these pre-SSB4 speculation days, the support for his playability in Project M will start to skyrocket that very same day.

I don't think Iwata would allow something really all that major to be shown at minor American only event. These days he's been really keen on doing global announcements. In order for it to be something Smash related or a new game announcement I think we'd have a Nintendo Direct. VGX isn't important enough to have something major from Nintendo shown.

Knockoff Percentage: 175%

Normal:
A: Claw/Bite. Claw: 7–10% Bite: 8–12%
A Standard Air: Aerial Claw. 7–10%
A Side: Lunge. 8%
A Front Air: Glide.
A Back Air: Aerial Smack Down. 11%
A Smash Side: Wing Slash. 12%
A Up: Tail Jab. 10–14%
A Up Air: Air Spin. 5% every second for 5 seconds
A Smash Up: Claw Uppercut. 10%
A Down: Tail Swipe. 10%
A Down Air: Body Smash. 10%
A Smash Down: Ground Shockwave. 12%
A Dash: Charge. 14%
Special:
B: Fireballs (fires 4 fireballs and charges up to fire 2 bigger ones that do twice the damage.) Small: 15% Big: 20%
B Side: Fire Stream (causes Ridley to make a stream of fire that does a lot of damage for 10 seconds.) 5% every second
B Up: Whirl Wind (this makes him flap his wings while in the air and causes opponents to fall off the arena.)
B Down: Tail Smash (this makes him spin his tail and crash it into the platform while in the air.) 15–30%
Combos:
Fire Bombs: A Side then B. This move is where Ridley glides across the screen and shoots fireballs down below and it can be charged for 2 bigger ones. Small: 15% Big: 20%
Aerial Fireballs: B Up then press B Multiple times. When Ridley is trying to blow everyone off, he will shoot fireballs while in the air, which move faster because of the wind that he is creating from his wings, this move can be used more than once while in the air and can be charged for 2 bigger ones. Small: 10% Big: 15%
Pogo Tail: Hold B Down and move the joystick up and down in half circles by turning it in the direction you want him to go to. This move is just like it is in Super Metroid and can be moved left and right. 15-30%
Fire Rain: A Side then B Side. This move is where Ridley glides across the arena and breathes fire on the players below and does not a lot of damage, but lasts for 10 seconds. 5% every second
Final Smash: Meta Ridley
This turns Ridley into Meta Ridley, this makes him bigger, disables his combos, special and normal attacks do double damage, invincibility and most of his specials are replaced with stronger moves.
Plasma Beam: Press B. Shoots a huge orange beam that does 1% of damage every 0.5 seconds for whoever touches it for 30 seconds.
Missile Launcher: Up B. Shoots 5 homing missiles that do 40% of damage per missile. (only works in the air)
Laser Eyes: Side B. Shoots red lasers out of his eyes that do 30% of damage.
Note: Ridley is a slow character, so these movesets are set up for a slow character. Also, this is for the wii remote and nunchuck controls.
