Discuss the stage hazard thing again? Ugh, I think we've done that enough, and most people around here feel pretty good about it since he'd have been shown by now if he was a stage hazard, furthermore it's kind of obvious what Sakurai is doing by having all these specific images that look everywhere in the stage, even right into the hole. Sakurai's quote most likely referred to Other M, just like how every quote he makes along with stages refers to what happened at the location in the source game, not only with the Reset Bomb stage, but also with just about every opening line to a stage introduction on the Brawl Dojo.

Ridley is still more likely than Krystal at least.

For those that call other m Ridley a duck, because of his head structure, are a bit off. His face more closely resembles a pterosaur's. My example rhamphorhynchus.

I brought up the thing with Other M Ridley more closely resembling a pterodactyl (or some other pterosaur of the like) quite awhile back, not that it made people feel better about the incarnation or anything. I think people mostly still call it a duck or duck-face to this day for the humor effect. Hence like the Duck Hunt jokes made about him here and there.

Ill still buy smash 4 at midnight no matter what, but dammit I will cry if Ridley's not in this time and by crying I mean being obnoxiously loud and by being load I mean alot of CAPSLOCK. Im currently having a PRECRY since he hasnt been announced yet and they keep showing that damn hole that may be damning or just what we need.

Man I certainly wasn't expecting that. I should not have ignored my instinct and checked the blasted site. So far it hasn't been off like my predictions of other m Samus and the pyroshere.

I had no idea, but thanks for the explanation. I just can't fight the urge to defend any version of Ridley, except the orginal artwork. I'm so glad Super Metroid reconned that design.

One other thing about Toon Link, it means more than one character a Month can be revealed. Who knows, we may get confirmation sooner than we think.

Even though Toon Link was clearly shown as a background element,but he was never talked about by Sakurai when that happened.

Eh... I don't want to go too deep into the prediction business.... because Sakurai will prove us wrong again.

I guess it was because there was too long until the release of Wind Waker, so they decided to throw in a character in between him and Luigi, which happened to be Peach. The big question is why they didn't save her for 3D World and revealed someone else.

There are two games coming out next month, so I think it's a good bet to hope for Pokémon Trainer and Sonic. Heck, we might get a general Nintendo Direct since the last was in early August, maybe Sakurai throws a newcomer trailer our way.

I think Toon Link's early confirmation just restored some hope with Ridley fans and Toad fans. But it is a little disappointing that he seems like he's still a clone. I guess I'll stick with Toon Link again since it is likely Link will still suck like he did in Brawl.

Not so much for us as for Toad fans I feel. But it does mean that if Ridley is a stage hazard that we'll still have some hope.

The playable Toon Link is from Wind Waked HD. The Toon Link on the Spirit Tracks stage is a different Toon Link who may be the descendant of the playable Toon Link.

So, if there are two different Toon Links in Smash and they have different roles... then why can't there be two different Toads in Smash? The playable Toad might be THE Toad while Peach's Toad is A Toad. There are millions of Toads anyway.

And well, I guess the Ridley on the Other M stage might be a clone of the real Ridley like his supporters say... while the playable Ridley is the real Ridley from Super Metroid... did I get that straight?

What I'm most curious about Toon Link's reveal is... is he still a secret character? Or will he be apart of the initial roster for the game? That'd be pretty funny seeing two Links playable right off the bat.
Personally, the only reason I'd love to know is so that we can be assured to see secret playable characters from time to time on the SSB4 website. I'd be thrilled to wake up one day and see Ridley's mug on the update page way ahead of schedule (Same going for guys like K. Rool and Mewtwo.)

Exactly, both of those points are true. The Ridley in Other M was a clone made by the Galactic Federation from the DNA that was left on Samus after Ridley exploded while holding her in Super Metroid, allowing the Federation to create a clone that slowly evolved itself into Ridley. They did the same with Metroids in the game, since Samus had DNA from the Baby Metroid on her suit when she returned. She didn't know they did any of that though.

I dunno. Maybe he just gave up on keeping anything secret; if it's gonna get spoiled on the Internet anyway, he might as well be the one doing it.

I think excluding Ridley is a much bigger deal this time since there frankly is very few characters left that have the notability and popularity that Ridley has. Really, the only ones left as famous as Ridley is are Mario characters, possibly the DK duo, and Little Mac.

The "star" pool is much worse this time than it was with Brawl. I think in terms of characters there is definitely going to be less hype this time around than with Brawl.

Add Mewtwo, K.Rool & Ridley and you will see the Hype RealTalk trust me.

So 2 overall.
