I was laughing at the people from the pre-brawl speculation about Norfair, but now.....oh god I'm so sorry. Is this what people call karma ?

I can't breath, don't be a stage hazard Ridley, please T_T

As I said in the in the social thread, Sakurai's trolling has always been harmless. (R.O.B, WII Fit Trainer, "Until now") this would be very mean spirited of Sakurai to troll Ridley fans like this.

Oh, so when Sakurai trolls other people, it's all fun and games... but when Sakurai trolls your people, it's mean-spirited?

Is that kind of bug even possible? That's really wierd.

In related news, the Netherlands page has that banner in English for some reason.
Just got home, still can't see it. Could see it on my mobile device though.

No, let me explain. Wii fit Trainer was harmless. He said nobody expected her.

If Ridley isnt playable, this is hyping Ridley fans up, only for them to be let down. Thats what I meant by mean sprited.

Oh, you mean like how Sakurai revealed Ridley music and Norfair stage for Brawl?

Sorry, but the Ridley fans brought the grief upon themselves when they hyped themselves into thinking that Ridley was gonna be playable in Brawl just because of the music and the stage.

What do you want Sakurai to do? Not include Ridley music and not include a stage where a boss fight with Ridley took place?

He never referred to Ridley specifically in those updates though, and certainly didn't make such a strong hint that he "may appear at any second." This is deliberately hyping people up, and if Ridley is a stage hazard he didn't need to hint at Ridley's appearance right now, since he should know that it will make his big fanbase overseas go nuts, he could just have announced him as a stage hazard later without any foreshadowing.

A representation of my dreams of Ridley being playable in Smash 4:

Guys, Ridley's Brawl theme in SSBB did it to me. The ridiculous "Ridley's in the clouds" did it to me.

It's been over 5 years. I've developed further. I know what I'm seeing here. I know the words I'm reading.

Ridley is a stage hazard. He will rise from under the stage to attack the players as they fight. He will then retreat through that large crack in that wall.

...It's kind of funny. After all that talk about doing something new and trying to be unique, this will be the 2ND GAME to simulate the Other M Ridley battle.

I learned from the delusions of the past. It taught me to be excited and hopeful while still staying grounded in reality. As such, I strongly awaited the day I hoped would never come.

I stand strong in the end. Defeated, but strong. e_e

Yea, but even then we could assume he's extremely oblivious and what he said was in the context of the stage.

Or something along the lines of "Hey, this is a cool stage to reveal. Ah, and since people like Ridley so much, why not let them know he might appear in the stage? I bet they'd like that!"

I guess the one hope I'm clinging to is coming from Dedede. The whole "Kirby can't get 2 new reps in one game" deal that was going on after Meta Knight was announced was pretty logical, but still, Sakurai threw Dedede at us. Then there's also Villager, though I've always been very neutral to him.

Actually, Sakurai mentioned Ridley in the Norfair stage update on the Brawl Dojo.

Sakurai said: "Norfair is the location in Metroid where the enemy boss Ridley was."

This is even the first sentence!

Welp, that slipped my mind, I just remember not taking it for anything back then, so I simply took it there was no mention of him. To be fair though, he does call him a boss there, which is what he ended up as, though that could just strengthen Sakurai refering to him being a stage hazard here.

Either way, as it was said earlier, if Ridley is just a stage hazard then this will honestly be one of the worst memories I'll have of waiting for anything ever, just because it'd seem like he'd be taunting us big time.

Don't blame Sakurai for hinting about a stage hazard during a stage reveal.

Sakurai's on record for calling Ridley's inclusion "pretty impossible". Interpreting his quote as "definitely possible" is just twisting his words.

I will say I will still be hyped for this game with or without Ridley, but I know here who's hype will die if Ridley isn't playable. I'll just be mildly disappointed,

Sakurai is well aware of the demand for him though, there's no denying that, so if it turns out he's a stage hazard then he didn't think things through properly when writing that.

Things are beginning to get pretty ugly in here, so I'll probably daffle off for the time being.

He also said he could do it, if he put enough thought in to it.

Uh oh...
Just saw the new update for today. And instantly, I recognized where the arena was from. Wasn't Ridley a stage hazard for that exact same stage for that one fighting game? I don't think Samus was playable in it... Dead or Alive for 3DS? I seriously forget.

Not looking very good... ):

(Also, I thought we were only getting character reveals once a month?)

Edit, found it.

I also remember people getting pissed that Samus wasn't playable in that.

After they made a female Spartan playable in the XBox version you can see where they were going.

Hmm....

What is that thing in the top right corner of the stage? I am not trying to troll just seriously asking.

Plus, does anybody know exactly how Wii Fit Trainer was revealed? I ask this because, Wii Fit Trainer was revealed around the time the Official SSB4 site just started up.

I know Luigi and Olimar were revealed in such an early manner, but wouldn't Sakurai want to reveal existing characters with the release date of their games to help build hype and to show the fans their favorite character returning right away?

Come on Sakurai...don't do this.....please?

I mean, I'll still buy the game even if Ridley isn't in, but....

No it will be the THIRD game that will simulate the Other M Ridley battle. Dead or Alive Dimensions has a Metroid arena that takes place in the Pyrosphere where you fight Ridley, and has Ridley as a stage hazard there.

Truly Other M is the POS that keeps on giving (giving people more facepalms that is).

Wii Fit Trainer was revealed shortly after the e3 trailer. Sakurai showed off the game and revealed her.

This is what I mean, latching onto his concession that it isn't entirely impossible, ignore his first statement about how unlikely it is to actually happen. Any character can be made into a fighter with a lot of effort. Sakurai could make the marble from Marble Madness work as a fighter, or the L-block from Tetris.

brb making Marble Madness for SSB thread...

And that ws during E3. So since E3 is over then the place to reveal things would be the website, unless another event takes place.

It's a hole that is at the location while fighting Ridley. When Ridley is defeated he breathes fire on it, melting it, thus allowing him to escape Samus bursting the hole to be much bigger. Which means that if Ridley's a stage hazard he wouldn't be able to fit through the hole unless he does the same trick as in Other M.

To demonstrate what I mean:

at 3:45 he breates AT the hole since he can't fit through it regularly.

Oh. I was wondering if the orange light coming from the hole was some ash (or something like that) or if it was an eye from a creature.

Nah, if you look at the picture there's those kind of sparks everywhere in the room, there just so happens to be one flying just by the hole. It's not an indication of anything, it's really just like a red snowflake.

Alright, I expected as much. Thanks for answering my question.
