Aside from the all fours style from Prime 3, this stance honestly could work to keep Ridley from "taking too much space" (ignoring wings and tail issues) while still being....even Brawl size, if I'm not mistaken.
Maybe someone can replicate it (or at least try) using Brawl Ridley and Roidley to see how it looks?

There was no Pyrosphere in that demo, so, no one could see anything on Pyrosphere or just Pyrosphere. So, it is fake/a lie.

Only ~2 months left...will ALL of those 3 get in or only 1 of them...or even none will get a chance...who knows? Only time and Sakurai will tell us...

I think Ridley and Mewtwo have reasonably good chances of getting in (Ridley teasing makes me thing he's very likely in), K. Rool chances, I think, are a less likely. I'd be happy to be wrong about K. Rool though.

In Japan, the series is niche, but overall well liked. Other M isn't.

Yeah...some people at JP think that of Metroids....but also goddamned Birdie....it just make me want to be able to kill it with fire....even more than Roidley....

Actually, it did worse then the original Metroid, Prime, Super, Fusion, and Hunters over there, and it barely outsold Prime 3 as well. Overall, the Japanese were as mixed on it as we were, it wasn't a game that really appealed to either audience.

So far, I think Nintendo hasn't done a great job with Smash Bros. character reveals. They revealed a legend like Pac-Man behind closed doors via liveblog/Twitter.

Heh, not sure where you get that from, but Japan hasn't been very interested in any Metroid game since Super Metroid, and Other M didn't have a very good reception down there either. I wouldn't say the game has any eye-candy material either, it's not like there are any suggestive shots of Samus, and she's proportionate to how she has always looked, heck it doesn't even have any unlockable pictures of Samus stripped down like Fusion or Zero Mission.

And yeah, they don't care about Ridley, but that's nothing to loathe them for. They'll know who he is for sure, he's been in every Smash installment after all and had up to two boss battles last time, but there's nothing wrong with them not having interest in him, with how little popularity Metroid has in Japan it's only natural. Rest assured it won't be a Little Mac situation, and they might warm up to him when they see him in action.
