chaingrabin' all day .-.
Nah, bro.

I don't know why you try to hate so much because you've seen one match of him ever and it was Falco vs. Pichu on FD. But haters gonna hate.

Lets see some of this....Development of Pichu's metagame

You keep claiming stuff like this, but there's more tell then show.
The problem is, if I talk about it, you guys are gonna get defensive because it doesn't involve any skull bash or agility so it'll probably be shunned.

Pichu doesn't really have much of a metagame to develop, so I'm skeptical as well, aha.
Pichu's a beast.

For real, though, I'm just baffled as to how he combos with so many dairs in one go. It makes literally no sense to me. He's also been experimenting with really weird stuff using dair's second hit and edgecancels. It's cool.

I wouldn't really know how to explain it, though. Maybe he'll post sometime.

I'd be interested to see more of his pichu, but from what I've seen he seems more like he wins just because he's a better player rather than because he's a good pichu.

but yea, skullbashing is ********.
Agility is useful at times, but clubber overrates it.

Never posted in here before, but I suppose I should since Pichu is my main after all.

If you guys want some background, I'm technically the best Pichu in Colorado at the moment because I'm the only one who's used him in a tournament match recently. Played him in game 2 of Melee Doubles Grand Finals at Summit 1 last Saturday. First match I did Peach, second Pichu, third, fourth and fifth Jigglypuff, partner did Jiggs, Dr. Mario, then jiggs for the last 3 (Double Jiggs actually murdered for a while). We ended up losing but we kinda just paired up at the last minute, lol.

And I'm definitely gonna be playing more Pichu in tourneys, since my Peach actually kinda sucks, lol, and my Jiggs is way rusty. It's also fun 2-stocking people the first time I play them because they have no idea what I'm going to do. It took 3 matches for a Fox/Falco main to beat my Pichu in friendlies after the tourney.

Anyone have good tips for the Marth and Falco MUs? I'll be running into them a lot pretty soon.

In my (minimal) experience against Marth, I've done well by dashing in, wavedashing back just as Marth attacks and then dashing back in while he's in cooldown, but obviously this strategy will get really predictable really fast.

Last time I played a Falco I didn't have a whole lot of trouble since I knew how to juggle him and my opponent didn't know how far his moves would send me so he had a lot of trouble getting shine combos off. After he figured out where to move to though he murdered me.

In both matches I 2-stocked the first game and got murdered the second game. Help?

Hey guys, I just came up with this awesome technique!

You'd have to see it to understand it, though.

wooowww

why are the pichu boards so cynical and opposed to improvement? lol

we aren't opposed to improvement. wtf are you even talking about.
problem is there are... 3 active pichus... and ICG is banned.

I'm by no means opposed to improvement, I'm sorry if I seem that way.

Anyways, about the Pichu/Falco and Pichu/Marth matchups:

For Marth:
Basics are the most important, obviously. Baiting the forward smash is a great thing to do. Keep doing that. You want to use Bair a LOT. its nice and small and it has nice priority and a weird hitbox that beats out his fair.
You ftilt is amazing in this matchup. It turns out Pichu has a metal foot and it clanks with marth's fsmash.

For edgeguarding (as thats really how you're going to get your kills), grab the ledge and use bair back to stage a lot. if you think he overshot the ledge, try to get an fsmash, but only if you're sure it will hit. If he SDIs out of the fsmash, grab the ledge as quickly as possible.

For Falco:

there are a few ways to go about this matchup, its still not easy. You can chaingrab. thats nice. Gimping falco is just about the easiest thing ever. thats also nice. combos are super easy.
Use your tilts a lot. I love dtilt and ftilt. they are decent spacing tools and great for gimping.
Uair is great. so is... nair i guess. jolts too.
Really your going to spend the majority of the match trying to get falco off stage. Once you do that, you can probably take a stock off of him. pretty much any move will kill him. unless you upair him or something... but that would be dumb, so don't do that. unless it sets something up (which it really doesn't unless you uair-dair or something). Fair is a nice move. It will drag falco down and he probably won't be able to recover from it. Jolt -> nair looks sexy, but as long as the jolt hits him he's dead anyways.
if you think he's gonna try to ride the wall, send a jolt down around the wall. If it hits him before he starts rising it will kill him.
a direct jolt always kills him.
actually everything kills him.

BUT HERE'S THE PROBLEM:
Falco *****. He's got a dair. and an fsmash. and a shine. and lasers. many many lasers. and many other moves, most of which kill you. the ones that don't kill still are very bad for you. just like a lot of drugs. except falco isn't fun and really doesn't make you feel good.

Don't roll, because you'll get fsmashed. Platforms are nice because then falco can't laser you. Don't get smacked ;)
and really... try to get him off stage.
you can combo him, but he can combo you harder.

The Pichu Paradigm - Stick to this for the most basic info on Pichu, it has plenty of tips and tricks for Pichu players.

Don't bother visiting here unless your just chatting as you see from the post above people only come here to get a laugh out of the few poor Pichu players that still bother to play with him/her, or just come to chat about stupid things.

Don't expect much from the Pichu community, maybe i should say never expect much but i digress.

Your mostly on your own once you pick up Pichu because everything else you can just read or learn from the sticky post here on the Pichu boards. If you learn something that you want to share don't, Pichu players don't believe in progress, only in n-airs, jolts, u-throws, u-smash, and every once in a while u-airs/and thunders.

If you do bother to stay around do not argue with aesirgod for he is a god of some lost religion that you shouldn't bother looking up, we have many ghost such as "Grim" and "Nick", but we get many trolls who love to trash the place before they leave, and graffiti the walls with words such as "Pichu sucks", and "Pichu is bad" but it's brighten the walls so we don't bother to clean or paint over the words any more.

Once in a while we get wizards that stop from the correctional office to keep Pichu's from getting they're hopes up, the frequent visiting officer is KirbyKaze. Other then that welcome to the Pichu Boards, the land of high hopes, and many broken dreams.

Don't forget to introduce yourself in the The Pichu Finder Thread, and have a nice stay.

Wow.

Talk about missing the hint completely.

I couldn't have made the message more obvious except by spelling it out.

Ah, well.

after playing him tho i can definitely c why hes one of the top pichus, i got ***** lol he was doin **** ive never seen any1 do before

i agree with u guys, pichu has untapped potential, and i think if i work really hard, harder than any1 else works with their character, my pichu can become top level

you can uthrow chain grab for a little bit.
Dsmash and dtilt **** his recovery. If he techs the dsmash, you can nair him out of it.

His dthrow usually leads to death at higher percent.
Be careful when approaching because getting knee'd sucks.

You can juggle him with uair.

Falcon is one of the characters that can't escape your jab combo in the pit of pokemon stadium, thats always fun.

Im surprised how decent my pichu is, I was only messing around at first, then I got good XD

Unknown522 continues to develop the Pichu metagame in ways you guys wish you could develop it.
Found out what he was talking about:
Using the techniques I developed back in 2001 and hoping everyone forgot about them. :troll:
