Why does everyone have to live so far north(except Cincinnati)?

I thought most ohio smashers were either in cinci or columbus. We finally had a good turnout at one of my tournaments considering our location. we got to about 30 people on word of mouth invites, and the next one we'll advertise on SWF. But 30 was pretty lucky considering how spread out smashers are around these parts.

I live in Bedford (about 15 minutes SE of Cleveland) and I host tourny's every 2-3 weeks, normally getting attendance of about 30 people each time. I have a thread up right now, with my next tourny being held on the 18 of August. Should be a good time for us Northeast Ohio Smashers.

I live in Northwest Ohio, about 12 min from Bowling Green, there's not much smash activity around here that I know of. T_T

I don't know exactly how far you are in relation to me, but I'm sure it's about 45 minutes, I've done a 7 on 7 for football at bowling green

yeah, living 2+hours from any kind or real players makes practice difficult. Add to that the fact that I don't own a gamecube.......and well that pretty much sums it up......noone to play, nowhere to practice.....

I just moved from Youngstown to Cincy. Looking forward to the fact that there's a lot of smashers down here. I just found this forum. I've been playing ffa's like crazy with my friends for years and honestly never thought of finding tips for play online. I now see that ssbm mastery is a long way off because my friends and I never even dreamed of something like wave dashing. Hell, I've never even L canceled. I mainly relyed on predicting my opponents moves. I look forward to improving my game and showing C-nasty (Cincinnati) what I've got.

I normally play halo 2 and and top 32 on that, but... Smash is rather addicting... I live in central Ohio and I want to get into smash...bad. Im not the greatest granted but thats y they call it practice = ]. Wheres the central ohioans?

It seems we are very spread out.

Anywho, I dunno how many of you guys to gaming/anime conventions, but I go to a lot of the Anime cons in the area. I think MatsuriCon (Next Month) wanted to have a tournament. I know that Ohayocon will have one ofr sure.

Sorry but Trotwood(Dayton suburb where I live) is 3 and a half hours away. When I can't find anyone to practice with, which is all of the time because my friends aren't very good, I go to youtube, watch some pro vs pro for the character I want like: aniki-link, king-jiggs, PC-Falco, M2K-Fox, Ken-Marth, etc. Then, I try to incorperate some of their tactics into my style and improve. You should try that if nobody turns up.

we need to play sometime, my brother currently holds the title of best in dayton...

Host a smashfest and you can meet some of us; we dont have a good place to host one or we would ourselves

There's a Skatepark up in Huber Heights that runs a lot of DDR tournaments, maybe they'd let us host a SmashFest there...

We've actually held tournaments at GOM before. But those were just little side tournaments that DDR kids entered. Nothing big at all.

Well we'll probably need a tv or two, everyone brings his/her own controller (in case anyone didn't all ready no that), and I could bring a gamecube, game and memory card. So, if any one of you guys can give us a location, we will be able to set a date and start a thread for the tourney/smashfest or whatever you want to call it.
