Just sitting and watching porn all day gets boring, even if it's with a bunch of chicks, eventually you just want to turn off the videos and turn on the video camera and start making magic.*

*magic=porno

Seriously though. Michigan(Nebraska too) football doesn't matter until they win a national title, or at least the big 10 title. Yeah, sure, the MI/ND game was awesome and exciting football, but where did those teams end up? At the time they were both overrated and overhyped (Because they are MI and ND) so there was special meaning at the time, okay. Sure, the Sugar Bowl is nice, but you got your bid because you are Michigan and you bring a lot of TV audiences with you, I know this because Nebraska works the same way. Even if they win, they still didn't win their conference/national title, hohum. Good for watching, but it doesn't mean anything. There is no playoff system, so it isn't exciting to watch once your team is out of the running for a conference/national title. Yeah, you still watch, but **** isn't even real. Gaining position for a playoff run is way more interesting and means more because your rank doesn't matter once the playoffs start (green bay was a wild card teams last year).

If Detroit didn't win that game yesterday, they probably wouldn't make the playoffs. And once you are in the playoffs, THAT'S WHEN IT MATTERS.

idk maybe I'm just a bigger Lions fan than most of the state of Michigan, but I'm still giddy about how incredible that comeback was.

Spectator sports are about putting up as entertaining of a game as possible regardless of how much it might matter in the long run. Looking at things pragmatically or even cynically is great and all, but if you're doing something like deciding how to burn your time then I think people should stop trying to think about what "matters more" to the world and just pick whatever they'd enjoy the most.

....so, did anyone ever mention that porn is the biggest abomination of a time waster ever invented and widely practiced by the human race and that such usage should make you feel ashamed, but instead you just get a chemical rush with no lasting benefits?

previously, on this page, in regards to similar subject matter.

I dunno how people can enjoy watching League of Legends.
I'd have to agree with this.
I know what you mean, though. Some of the best football games I have watched have been garbage bowls. I actually work as a score keeper for basketball so I watch basketball games that have no actual meaning all the time outside of what I mentally assign arbitrarily most of the time.

That being said, the goal of playing anything is to win by the rules ahead of you. College football has bad rules (BCS), NFL has good rules (Playoffs), and the way these rules work changes the actual meaning of the game if you are rooting for a team to do what it is supposed to do at the end of the year, win your conference and win the national/nfl champion ship.

It isn't like this is the first year I've been watching the Lions and been excited about it, it's just that this is the first time in forever it has been important to the progress of the team outside of what the #2 pick looks like every year. That's what makes it so special. If you are watching a national title game, it's obviously way more worth your time, especially if you are

A. A fan of the team(s)
B. A fan of the game, due to the fact that by the process of elimination, the two best teams SHOULD be playing each other, and usually it's some combination of the top 4 in the NFL and CFB usually gets it right, though sometimes it's a screwjob.

The suggestion of LoL in the first place was something to watch instead of sports. I can't really support League of Legends as a spectator sport because it doesn't play like one, not because of not having teams or players to cheer and back or whatever. Like, it's really just not fun to watch, to a startling degree compared to the entertainment gained from playing it.

Is that like venting frustrations on how lain lives in an overall weaker state yet years later is still a better player than you?

Just follow the grime...
We decided to have Apex start the next PR instead of end the last one.

This season's tourneys scheduled so far are

APEX 2012
Grand Traverse Smash
Phoenix Saga 2
Revival of Salt
Phoenix Saga 3/4 (I'm assuming)
Cold Con (if it's counted. haven't discussed it yet, but it does seem to be using a legit ruleset this year.)

I may host a tourney at some point as well. As will Ori and/or Rizk at some point, I'm sure.

Rizzy is planning on hosting one, but he has class saturday till 3. So what he will do is host one and I'll run doubles and hold down fort till he gets there. We haven't decided on a date yet.
