Realistically tho, who has the best chance for the next Mario rep. Geno or Bowser JR.?Id say Geno because he was on the poll...
However Bowser Jr had big villain roles in both Super Mario Sunshine and New Super Mario Bros. (two big games for Nintendo)

Um..how? All I can think of is a doll being possessed by Master Hand a star spirit whatever.
Actually, it is a common misconception that the characters featured in Smash Bros are the characters you play as in their respective games. They are, in fact, only trophy/doll versions of these characters brought to life to duke it out under Master Hand's rule. At least, they were in Melee.

The Subspace Army, from what I gather, is a sort of "law enforcement" that takes over when these trophy/doll representations refuse to fight and start working together against their manipulative master (conveniently named Master Hand). Who better to lead them in this rebellion than the star-powered doll named Geno?

Edit: Removed some unnecessary text.

Yeah that atrophy thing seems to be the story but it's weird how they gave Pit an enterencethat appeared like it was the real pit and that seems to be the case for ALL newcomers...only the old seem to have the trophy story...that is not the case but it's all weird and stuff...

...WHEN Geno is revealed, his story will most likely tie into the star road or something like he was the real Geno, probably coming down and possessing the doll once again and unleashing his power against the forces of evil in the name of good...

Well, it could be that Pit is in fact an angel sent down to prevent this disaster from happening. It is equally possible that they are also just a couple more pawns in the Smash world. I mean, we've already seen that Master Hand has access to various settings such as Hyrule Castle and Mute Cuty. He probably has a mock-up doll house for Palutena's Shrine also.

wow! i did not know that.....

anyway, mabey the star gaurds noticed the 'disterbence' or what ever and sends geno down to aprehend "some guy with a stash'" at first geno falows them but then realises that the guy is mario. he trys to stop mario from angering the star guardiens but mario revives another charcter and they get into a fight and you can choose what side to go on, with respective endings.

and thare are endless possible storylines for geno cuz hes such an oppen char.! :)

I really don't see the point in having Bowser Jr. in Brawl quite frankly. Those games may be big games but they ain't old school like Super Mario RPG.

Super Mario RPG is actually one of the best games for Super Nintendo world wide. It needs to be recognized. Geno needs to be recognized. >(

I agree 100% with this thread. I would really like to see Geno and a Forest Maze stage in Brawl.

I bet they are going to modernize Geno, giving him a new image upon his appearance in Brawl!

Not really...he just doesn't shut up...Mallow is not really connected to the plot or anything that much...Hell, I don't even think he's in the ending sequence after Geno departs...(He prob is but I never saw him)...

Also, Mallow doesn't have a big following...

I unfortunately have never played Super Mario RPG, but yet I would so love this character to be in even more than... Dedede, he's just so original
note: Dedede has much higher chances

Now, before someone attacks me, I just want to say I have played very little of the SMBRPG. I am very interested in Geno as a character and hope he makes it into brawl…but my question is…considering he has only starred in one game (an obvious cameo in the other), why does his have such a loyal following that demands his appearance?

Because he is awesome...

...Why does any character have a following...

Repedity does not make a character popular...It's the character itself that determines that

Well, a wooden doll named Geno is his only appearance he has gotten. It iw what makes Geno Geno. His real form is a star from the heavens. He possessed the doll of Geno because I guess it was just a random pick. It is not just that star that makes Geno Geno, it is the power he uses with that Doll. Hint, Geno Flash, turning his whole body into a Cannon.

I’m not disputing that Geno is awesome or stating that repeated appearances are is defines a popular character…if you pardon me for saying so…it just appears a bit random.

Keep in mind that I really DO like Geno…just trying to learn more about his history with fans.

A lot of them grew up with the game...most of them, Super MArio RPG was the first RPG they ever played...Geno is the most powerful, and unique character in the game...at least the most unique that is actually good...and not annoying (Unlike Mallow, which is why he has a small following)

Ah, so it's a character a lot of Nintendo fans grew up with? Well, considering how unique and popular he is, I don't see why they wouldn't put him in Brawl.

Although, I have no clue on the relations between Nintendo and SE.

No one does...though I don't think Square would have any problem lending a character they don't plan on using...

If Geno was 1st party completely he would be in by now...

They are looking pretty buddy-buddy right now. Sure it's been said before... there's Mario Hoops, and Super Mario RPG coming to VC after Squienix said that they WOULDN'T release any games for VC... looks like they could give us something more.

And that would totally make press for a sequel to our beloved RPG...

Or not. But I was a bit disappointed in 2001 when it was Paper Mario and not what I wanted...
Granted, but Paper Mario was a wonderful game. Just a thought.

I think Geno is *technically* first-party, or something. Sakurai said Geno is part of the Mario Bros. Series, so basically... he should get in, I think. Look here.

...Geno didn't get as much love in the Melee poll as he did in the Brawl...I guess it was the generation at the time and Geno fans only acting after Brawl was announced...like they were gathering their forces...

Have you guys seen the SSBB website? Team mode...

...that sounds incredibly cool. Just imagine the possiblities with Geno in there.

Lately, whether it be during the middle of the night or during a math test, I have this recurring thought: "Geno's going to be in Brawl." All evidence points to yes: the character criteria, Sakurai's poll, the fan support... everything. We all want him in Brawl (excluding those select "special" few), but when you stand back and admire the whole picture, you see just how amazing his appearance would be.

"The Adventure mode also emphasizes character development. You’ll see many famous characters persevering under the weight of their personal histories, shouldering their unique burdens... It’s really something you won’t see anywhere else."

That's from the official website. The popular characters' "personal histories" or "unique burdens" are at least estimable to the point where all you have to do is read their Wikipedia entries to get an idea. But for someone like the Ice Climbers or Pokémon Trainer... or Geno...

The outcomes are endless. The ones I can think of for Geno are miles deeper and more introspective than any other character's.

And for the rest of Brawl: fighting moves, taunts, stages, voices, updated looks... if you just think on that for a little while, it drives you crazy. ...Well, it's driving me crazy. There's just so many qualities Sakurai could instill into Geno through this game, minding the ones he already has. (Thank God our boy debuted an RPG like he did- if it would've been in a Mario sports game or something like that, he would've turned out as an empty shadow of a more popular character or species *stares at most Paper Mario partners, Daisy and Waluigi*)

And even then, there's that little tiny fear that I have, the fear that when I turn on the game for the first time he's not going to be there, or if I check the website, I'll see him on there, faint, and then find out he's an assist trophy or meaningless background character. If either of these scenarios occur, Nintendo will regret the day they gave me so much hope for nothing. I'd never be able to pick up the game without getting a lump in my throat thinking about what could've been...

Back when I did have SMRPG, I never got to play as Geno. In '96, when the game came out, I was watching my dad play Super Mario 64, my first game. I was too young to ever have an SNES, but for about ten years we did have a SNES9X, my favorite emulator. One year I begged my dad to get me some new games for it, and he gave me some random games... SMRPG included. Of course, our computer was pretty **q*ed up, so it wouldn't save game data for long periods of time. Years later, by the time we got the daggum thing to permanently save, I had tired of playing through the first few levels and had moved on to the Gamecube and newer Nintendo releases. And of course, about two years ago, the computer that had the emulators on it killed over, which left me SNESless excluding the crappy Gameboy Advance remakes that I hated so.

And only this past year did I bother to find about SMRPG and what I had been missing. If I hadn't been browsing Youtube and found the Rawest Forest remix that had me wondering who Geno was... *sighs* So I went around, found out who he was and kind of saw the whole plot of SMRPG. And you know what sucks? The farthest I can ever remember getting on that game was to the part where Bowser's minions assembled around Tadpole Pond somewhere. Right before Rose Town. Right before me finding Geno and assimilating him into my video game past.

I figure if he's in Brawl, at least some part of that gap that was left empty due to the fact I never played as him will be filled.

...I know that may seem random, but everyone else has posted their opinion on why Geno should be in and I haven't done much more than draw a few things. So...

Godspeed, Geno! Make it into Brawl!

If Geno is in Brawl I will be a happy camper. I wish there was a way to connect to Sakurai and Square Enix. =/

FInally, a suggestion for smash that makes 100% sense. RPG was one of the greatest, if not greatest games on the SNES, along with A link to the past, and a few others. Geno would maeka great choice and a great addition tot he smash roster.

Im actually kinda hoping they hint at him by posting a Brawl version of Forest Maze, that'd be sooooo sweet

I think i remember reading about this in the past pages but werent there disscusion's on what Geno's voice could sound like? If i remember a lot of people said Alan Rickman, and to that i say...uh no, he just doesnt seem fit Geno's personality to me

As for my model, im at home right now and the model is still back on my computer at school so bare with me untill i get back and start workin on the texturing
