He's either in as a PC or not in at all. Sakurai would not confront Square just to make a character that got so freaking high on the polls an AT. It's stupid.

Geno could be an AT. But it's not likely, if he is in, he would most likely be in as a PC.

ah aight then, either way i still don't think geno will make it. There are just to many things preventing him from being in. If you put him in the

third party slot: sakauri said there will only be 1-2 after snake and sonic takes up one of those spots. I think that the smash team would use that spot on a more widely recognizable character.

mario spot: there are more likely choices that have been in more games and are more well known (i.e. bowser jr. and paper mario) plus the last game geno was truly in was made over 11 years ago (is that the right amount?).

Geno is the underdog. I HATE the mentality of ONLY widely known characters getting in. I find that extremely boring.

I want to see the underdog come out victorious in this, and he actually has a shot

Saki and Geno are the not the same. Saki was created by Treasure for Nintendo but Treasure gave them full rights to the character after Sin and Punishment was created. Geno was created by Square Enix for Nintendo but, probably because both companies knew what events would unfold a year later, SE kept the rights to all the original characters (all the characters who hadn't appeared in previous games) that appeared in Super Mario RPG. With that said, Saki is the equivalent of a first party character.

@ Cless: It's 5 and I've posted them multiple times. I'm currently on my new laptop so I don't have them on hand right now but I'll go post and just copy them again.

The only other 3rd party character that even had the same chance as Geno was Megaman and according to gonintendo.com he's not going to make the cut since Nintendo hasn't even contacted Inafune for his inclusion. But you never know. Point being, Geno's chances at this point are bigger than Megaman's.

SSB isn't all about popularity, if that were the case we wouldn't see characters like Pit, Mr G+W or Ice Climbers. Hell I had no idea who Captain Falcon or Ness were until I played the first smash.

Having said that, the only possible characters I see to take the Mario spot are Geno or Bowser Jr. I'd like to see both honestly, but Geno moreso since he would make a much more unique character, imo. It's true he hasn't been in much more recent games, but that has never stopped characters like Pit or IC from making the cut.

Ok, I dunno. I was going off of the stickied topic. But Square and Nintendo didn't part ways amicably. Square was developing VII for the N64 and just jumped ship because everyone and their mother wanted to work on cds.
