just thought I'd throw that out there.
Huge "IF" He's updated, We have no clue about intro vids for instance they can be shown after you unlock the character etc, And they still have to pay rights for him, Only difference is that his legal rights cost less
(Which is good.).Claus Krystal or Ridley would be enough to go "ZOMGZOMGZOMG"
Hmmm i see the discussion is rather a bit plain, So let's just hypothetically say that Geno get's confirmed twomorrow, That and luigi makes 5 Mario Newcomers so there IS A Good possibility at seeing another if that happens, Who would you say has a higher chance for that 6th Slot? Paper Mario or Bowser Jr? Seriously i'm not sure...But huge if's on the table.

He's been popping up really frequently in the world of Mario games, and played a very major role in Super Mario Galaxy.
I'm sure Sakurai would want to acknowledge that.

O.O God, how is a character who appeared in 1.5 games this popular? Super Mario RPG isn't even that well known for one, Geno was in Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga and I was just like "Ok, what the **** is that thing?" I mean really, it was a cameo appearance but how can he be this popular?

Brawl is officially being made and shipped, basically confirmation that the game is done, and no more delays.

I think it's an advertisment for either
A) The game itself. It's almost January, they'd obviously have thought about shipping over Asia and are printing out the copies
or
B) The official guide, also in print

The only ones that REALLY Seem unlockable are Sonic and Snake so them getting it...
Well we'll just have to wait and see

So you mean to tell me a doll, possessed by a star, with a cannon built into his hand that fires bullets, beams, and has a multiple array of possibilities isn't interesting?

No. He's just another character. If his physics or moveset were actually interesting (which is a good possibility) then I'd see Geno as easily being in the final roster.

Not that well known?
SMRPG was THE game of the SNES, and virtually everyone above the age of 16 will recognize Geno in an instant (provided they were into games). SMRPG sold 1.4 million copies in Japan alone, which was a hell of alot of numbers 11 years ago.
He brings backs memories (for myself too, as well as many others) which is why he was suggested, and he could be in the Mario universe alot more provided Brawl markets him successfully.

SMRPG Wasn't that popular....I mean I recognized Geno in Superstar Saga....but not immediately..
It was a good game....but it wasn't THE SNES game...
Still....Geno for Brawl!!

I know you're trying to show a view from "both sides", but you have to admit, "he's too random" is a stupid argument, as well as "just another character, so why not (X) character instead?" because they can be applied to literally every character not yet confirmed. People were pulling those excuses on Red, and look what happened
. People also pulled those comments on Stafy, and look what happened 
. See where this is going? Add this concept to unconfirmed characters and there you have it, the only argument that really pops up when naysayers argue that Geno shouldn't be in.

I didn't even pay for my 360.... I got it for Christmas when it came out.I didn't even pay for my 360, I won it in a raffle
Geno's got no chance of AT. Either PC or not in the game at all, IMO.

I'm way too anxious.
Wouldn't want my hopes held high when I get the case, then get them crushed when I find out Geno is out.
Rather just find it out earlier so I can put my guessing mind to rest about which of my favorite characters made it in.

Indeed. The forums are gonna go nuts with confirmations all over. I once again will have a japanese source feeding me info to post like I did with CoroCoro.
But maybe Geno is so awesome that he takes 2 years to unlock and we won't even know until after we're playing Brawl. Even the PAL people will be playing Brawl by then.
