Tact is for real life to avoid awkwards situations of "I actually fully disapprove of and dislike this person but I'm not going to show it overtly because I'm vaguely sensible".

SDB are awful elitists. I had to attend an SDB gathering to be allowed in, I chose to go to my mates instead (I'm clearly not social enough). I also got told not to "try so hard" and other such things. Boards is one thing, real life is another.

Those searching the easy option of "let's just get along meng" are doing so because they are flat out beaten and lack any kind of relevant response other than some dribble about all getting along well.

Gosh golly darn, Zeppo is right, this community is god awful. I think this stems from an overall feeling of elitism amongst the community. If you are not in SDB, you aren't cool, it's where the fun is.

Right guys I got some explaining to do before Flame War happens between us all.

I'm no longer part of SY for geographical reasons. Not anyones fault at all, I just feel like I'm better suited to being in the Mafia because of where I stay, if I stayed in Liverpool or anywhere else in the North West, I'd be in SY still. But being up here is a bit of a hastle to come see you guys. I'm not doing a Co3y and Jo3 really (no offense guys, <3) and not informing you of it, I am actually informing you all of it, not just up and leaving.

I've said this since AR2 really, I'd leave to join the Mafia due to location, and thats basically what I've done. Sorry if I've upset anyone by doing so, I just feel that its better, I don't feel restricted to travel 200 odd miles to get to you guys, it's a good thing in a way, but I will attend some fests every now and again (presuming the Bolton ones will still happen after Ant and Ben are no longer able to.)

Anyway sorry for the confusion which may have occured as I changed my sig earlier.

ROOOFL I'm not even on the sig gutting.

Anyway I'll see you all in June, no worries I'm still attending no matter what, can't miss out.

Egos haven't put me off, Professor Pro is among my favourite posters on here. I have a huge ego aswell.

Where am i being agressive ? As far as i can see i'm not being agressive in the slightest. The only statement i have made that could have been considered in any way agressive would be that i thought SDB was the worst crew name, when the main reason i said that was simply because Ed was having a go at mafia (and i think SDB is a **** name) And no Joe it isn't easy for everyone to just get along, the world doesnt work like that and i really dont think that i have to completely spell it out for you that we all have very differing personalities,values and sense of humour. The relationship between the mafia and SDB is pretty much like the cold war between the states and the russians and it has been like that for a long time, partly because of the competitive nature of the game we play and the very obvious clash in personalities between the people in both crews, its nothing to do with not likeing anyone because who they align themselves with.

I dont know if i should really speak for Z on this issue or not but i think i know him well enough and have talked to him enough to speak on his behalf. When he saw Gladams post spouting off about how superior SDB were etc he "half" jokingly made a comment about their crew name then got insulted for it. I dont blame Paul at all for the way he handled the situation, he as well as a lot of other people i have spoken to are tired of SDB's superiority/incredibly insecure complex and attitude thats shown on the board or at tournies. I personally find it kinda humorous that we are classed as unsociable geeks, when the only thing geeky about any of us in the mafia is that we play smash which we are all doing here anyway. Face it SDB all of you are just as geeky as any of us and i dont understand why you dont accept that, you are not in anyway superior to other people in the community. Sometimes posting around here or being at tournies feels just like being back in high school, it's all about social hierarchy and being friends with some of "big dogs" around here although i wont name anyone... i think its pretty obvious, Joe i think you are a perfect example of someone who will do anything to be thrown a bone by the big dogs.... like leaving your friends at one crew to join some people at another, it's pretty pathetic imo and it's the main reason why z and many others hate the community. if i didnt enjoy smash soo much i would have left this community long ago, but im not really the type of person to quit. And trust me before you say anything i know that i am a sarcastic ******* on the boards and im more than willing to take any flack for that, what can i say ? i am pretty amazing.

Yeah this is mostly true but like i have explained above, squabbles occur and maybe it is not always necessarily myself or anyone "not SDB" Ryan that should show some tact around here, instead of being blindly bias towards your fellow SDB mates why dont you actually follow through in how this whole thing developed and make a slightly more informed opinion about the whole thing. It's funny how it can be spun that all of a sudden we are bad guys who are looking for the fight etc or how i am "aggressive" etc

Final Smash - Friday 20th - Monday 23rd June

This is the big one! Aiko and Bullet Bill's FINAL, I repeat, FINAL, smashfest in Liverpool. Will be similar to Smashmeng Fest. There will be a melee and brawl tournament (either free or small fee) and possibly some sort of award ceremony. Also Nando's is in major order. This is open invitation, so anyone who is prepared to travel can come. People I would like to come though:

Joe quite clearly the judgemental side goes both ways and like i've said before its a clash of personalities, a lot of the things i said in my last post are spoken really on behalf of a LOT of people i've talked to in person or online, it's not just the opinion of me but others who can talk for themselves if they really want to. Like Ryan said before differences aside we can all be civil atleast to eachother and continue to smash together at fests or whatever, i'm not going to stop playing because of what is said or whatever but you cannot deny a lot of the things i said about social hierarchy or personal standings in the community. Reputation is such an important factor for a lot of people when it really shouldnt matter at all. It would be great if we all did get along and things were "chill" within the community but being realistic its not going to work like that and it obviously hasn't. We are all a little devisive in a sense and in a way that is a good thing in that it promotes compeition and people have different ideas about things. I think its good that its out in the open and people can talk about the differences between us without ahem getting too personal about it... communism sucks. I did enjoy myself to an extent at mengfest and people generally got on well but this anti geek attitude is pretty stupid imo and it needs to be eradicated from the community. The fact is that if you play smash you are a geek, playing videogames is pretty much the definition of what a geek is and it shouldn't be used as a term to slander someone. I dont feel like i have to prove myself to you or anyone else because i know who i am, i know my strenghs and weaknesses but i have to say that your judgemants about me are incorrect. I'm not bitter of any "cool" kids or anything like that, i just dont like honours or elitism, call it a psychological quirk of mine but i dont like the degradation of others for personal gain. I dont hate you, i dont hate anyone in the community but i wouldnt necessarily travel to the bottom of england to hang out with certain individuals. I hope you dont take that the wrong way.

Im tempted by the fest offer. Im supposed to be going up to the highlands in Scotland and see some ridiculous scenery that week, but I might floor it cause its family pish. We'll see.

Anyway I cant be bothered arguing this anymore(cause Im so **** cool), but I agree with what Euan has said about the community, I think reputation is an enormous factor around here, scrubs are often disregarded because they have none, and some try and suck **** to get up there. When I came into the community I didnt write it off as such, it has gradually turned out this way, and Joe is a fine example of someone who is treated a certain way because of social reputation.

The reputation stuff makes me sick, and I think alot of people sweep it under the carpet but its definitely there. Maybe its there in every community, but that doesnt disregard the fact its sh*t in this one.

Also because this is the internet and things get misinterpreted each and every way, I need to clarify that I like most of SDB, and that we havent had many problems at all. When I saw Gladam posting, I probably knew I would provoke a response- but I'd say it to anyone posting something like that so wanted to disregard the fact that SDB are almighty.

And on judgement- It is really easy to segregate someone who is honest about their judgements. The majority of people judge others all the time, I believe it is a basic part of socialising. Euan is just honest about it, so you could call him a bad person but really, we're all judging each other most of the time. No johns, I reckon.

Also imo yea SDB maybe abit elitist in some ways to who is in. But it's has very little to do with smash skill really, more elitist in the fact all of SDB like to chill out and socialise after playing smash all day at a tourney or the fact that it is a nationwide crew but every so oftern everyone makes an effort to get together and have a laugh without being soley smash. Plus if you put that aside it's not like we wont socialise with everyone else. If just one person out of all the people arguing this **** had been to TKI you might realise that, Ant came and chilled with us for ages and he even said to me on the coach back he knew why i joined SDB. So i dunno if anyone has anything against me let me know, personally i can get along with eveyone in the community, and me and joe agree that the best crack in the community is Phil and hes in the mafia.
