But I mean you are living right now and you are posting stuff, if you are not going to talk about certain things, when will you? Sometimes going with the flow is just fine, I disagree that you need a certain environment to talk about things, sometimes it can just happen anywhere and you can learn stuff as it goes. Yes?
Pretty much

so can't we talk about something more PR related? like whether we're gonna let people with one tournament out of these three rank high on the pr's?
What do you mean?
Like someone who only went to 1 of the 3?

Jesse doesn't hate josh one bit rofl. And we might not think the highest of philosophy as an academic subject, but mostly we've just been laughing at some of the unnecessary adjectives and SAT words (for lack of a better phrase) that have recently appeared in some peoples' posts that reek of someone trying to show off their vocabulary and sound smart to their peers on a gaming forum.

I may be way off base but this jumped at both of us and we found it humurous lol. Jesse just filters less thoughts than I do.
ironically, the word you are looking for sesquipedalian

anyways, i don't generally mind the way josh acts but i will say that your actions have consequences no matter who you are. you can act however but live with the responses.

i will also say that in the case that someone feels he has changed from what was poor behavior, that change should be met with acceptance much more so than praise. expecting the latter is a bit foolish i think. not to say my thoughts on the matter reflect the general chatter because im actually very indifferent to how most people act (as many of you know)

before josh comes in making a post about how he's not looking for praise and people say his post is too long:

josh probably isn't looking for praise.

and yes, i mean people who went to 1 of the three. this would include l0zr, twitch, mike, and probably a few other notables i'm not thinking of.

im not saying that; however, it is more than plausible that the text can imply such

What Chris said. Praise is poisonous for improvement at anything; I even posted an Einstein quote and a post about it attached not that long ago. It's just very difficult to make changes if the people in your situation (in this instance, NC Smash) refuse to accept the change.

About attendance:

As I was attempting to discuss last month, attendance should be something taken into account. It is MUCH more difficult to perform consistently well at 3 tournaments than it is 1. The fact that our system doesn't currently acknowledge consistency within the ranking periods is my only real critique of the way we do stuff.

EDIT: Liang, we need to play/chill soon. It's been too long.

DJ come to greensboro. i wanna play lol.

EFF SHIEK.

edit: also, i think it's lol how consistent i've been lately. when did i get decent at this game? musta been went i went down to SC and won a tournament. guess it worked for my confidence lol. being in winners finals with bden and winning a hype *** 5 game set finally set me in a state of mind to win in pressure situations. and that's the only difference. once you win one of those sets, you can focus on never looking back. and if you lose one, being able to still look forward.

to me, thats the beauty of the council hyping lower level players...and especially things like what we did at lost ark.

TUUUEEESSSSSDAAAAAAYYYYYY

simply inspiring players and pushing them to be in a pressure situation even in the first round, or pools, or at someones first tournament, is one of the best things a crew and a person in general can do in this game. It's why it's so great that the community has people like you snap. Yay was good at that **** too. what can hold a person back though is losing a lot of these pressure situations in a row. personally, i think it's part of why my mindset vs dj and cam is what it is now. A TON of my early pressure situations, whether created by myself or my environment, were me getting stomped on.

but as i said, once you win one, you can focus on never looking back. and the inspiration that the more hype tournaments have, the sooner you will get your first "one". and the sooner your road begins.

or something like that.

edit: God damnit moo DON'T LOOK BACK. or...look forward...but either way, somebody hype this kids next first round and help him pull said confidence out of said ****ter. i can't go to TGM4 so it can't be me :(. but THIS IS WHAT CREWS SHOULD BE FOR DAMNIT.

i'm taking the next one of ours, stingers. BE PREPARED!

oh btw, the other approach for some people is to never have a pressure situation. I imagine this may be how smith got better. not by pushing himself through pressure, but by relaxing and preventing the pressure from ever building up. then he can just focus on what needs to occur. either way, i've heard good things, and i think it's legit. I think both sides hold merit. But eventually, **** will get hype.

Praise is reinforcement
Reinforcement is needed to seal a behavior and encourage it

But anywho
I think the only gray area is that for people who can't get to tournaments very often are going to be punished for that
Which I'm sure everyone's discussed multiple times
Just making sure we don't forget that of course

Also
I like crews

for crews to be hype
1) there needs to be some sort of rivalry/animosity going on, ex. mudkips vs. southern pines
2) you need a lot of people watching, ex. mudkips vs. southern pines
MOST IMPORTANTLY 3) kevin cant be in them, ex. mudkips vs. southern pines

god that was a **** *** ****ing crew battle

lmao you're just glad cuz you were in it.

LMFAO you just edited it to me not being in them most importantly.

I'd still hype crews even if I couldn't be in them.

Didn't hype mudkips vs southern pines though because of Melee friendlies. =)

Lol I wasn't talking about you, Dorsey
I was referring to Josh's sentence here:
Praise is poisonous for improvement at anything
Which is incorrect
Reinforcement is needed for 100% of behaviors
Maybe an oversaturation, which created overdependecy yes

But it's needed to get it off the ground and continue the behavior

Anywho

you're criticizing someone for having a good vocabulary?

infinite lols.
Dude, you don't know what you're talking about. You used to be super nice to me and kiss my *** and I would put up with your homo *** tight hugs and **** you would give to me at every tourney just bc I'm a nice guy and thought you were too (it's literally that easy to get along with me). Now you're different, and some hardly frequent, meaningless e-beef with my brother over the past few months has apparently caused you not to like me. **** you you ****ing ******. Until I see a reason to think otherwise, **** you kid. LOL

Josh, you're looking into this a little too deeply. no one hates you, and i think it was mature that you assumed chilling with jesse in person would be legit. Think critically about this: CHILL OUT. rofl

0Room, you make me lol. I can't describe it. It's like kage but in a totally different way.

Kage, you're doing just right. Keep up what you've been doing.

Lucas, lmao I love it when people can appreciate some honest cut and dry humor. Props.

DJRome: I didn't read your post where you quoted mine, no offense. Maybe one day.

Ok that's good for now.

and yes, i mean people who went to 1 of the three. this would include l0zr, twitch, mike, and probably a few other notables i'm not thinking of.
on the topic of attendance and prs, i think it's situational for each person. the only issue imo is determining who is consistent.

if someone is usually consistent but fails to be consistent for the latest period, i think it's safe to articulate their consistency based on previous periods since they're usually active. for example, to my knowledge, twitch and lozr haven't been to much of anything in a while (latest period as well as previous ones), so they may be punished for that.

i mean, as far as i'm concerned, i just came back to gboro like a week before the last ncsu, and before which i was up in massachusetts and tristate ****** ****... on a consistent basis, at that. imo, that defends me. regardless of the fact that i'm very consistent.

i want hype draft crews like the one at duke except i beat mike in these. :)
lol keep dreaming little man. bring a chair to break when you lose to me... all that salt's gotta go somewhere :urg:

crews would be hype as ****, but we'll never be able to do them until we stop food breaks (seems we have so far) and people stop taking inconsiderate breaks to smoke marijuana.
