oooh yeahhhh some fin things did happen in my room lol. definitely let me know next time you visit your friend this way. it was really fun having you over bro.

i'm looking for so many uses of nair it's funny. it's so hard to throw out in good confidence though. i swear everything beats that move :(

yeah. i keep trying to dair into missed tech nair, but people keep teching the dair =/

reverse fair is so funny though. idk if it has better knockback cuz people DI it wrong or if its somehow got a better base knockback, but it hits so hard and it's funny.

i swear, i've almost assumed that down B's natural trajectory is to reverse. maybe cause i mostly use it when people approach who are trying to cross me up, but still, it feels weirder when it doesn't cross up than when it does.

reverse bair is funny cuz i can cover a tech roll with my chest and a tech in place with the fist lol. i just wish it was just a touch weaker so it can lead into more fairs.

Why do people try to cross up in this game...the shield is a circle lol (Blah blah shield grabs, against most people with decent shield pressure you can't shield grab unless they **** up)

yeah, but people like to do funny shield movements to get the shieldgrab. also, a lost of oos moves work better out in front. like ganons uair oos, and i figure sheiks nair oos are a lot stronger and better from the front then they are from the back. so often times not only do you get out of the potential shieldgrab, you get out of their aerial oos move by putting yourself outside of that hitbox range.

or something like that.

My OOS is Up-b, so IDGAF anyway :D

+, if people can't shield grab, they sure as hell can't OOS jump uair...grabs are definitely faster...

Sheik's nair oos hits on frame 4 I think, whereas shieldgrabs come out on frame seven. But sheik's nair hits right behind her pretty well anyways, so it doesn't matter as much. Fair oos for marth is also faster than grab I think. Fox's shine oos hits on 3 and falco's on 4.

The real reason you want to cross up on shield is because most characters have more range behind them (seems counter-intuitive, I know). So if a falco crosses up, he can space it so he lands out of range of all of the characters oos options but still be in range for his bair or utilt, so he can punish any oos option or just pressure more. A shielding opponent can't do much to a falco standing behind them right in bair range. Same thing with most characters.

Another reason for crossing up is just because that is just the spacing you find yourself in. No reason to give up the opportunity for a perfectly fine approach just because you will cross up.

Dair when he's in the air? It hurts but you have to read the tech for sure after that, I don't see how anyone would not tech that... It's a bad habit from players, 2nd dair they WILL tech so read it into fair or bair after. =P I don't see how a nair on the ground would work very well.. lol. If you are very high up, you can dair, DJ dair combo, falldown upair or fair if the tech is favorable for that too, all in one jump sequence, it hurts!

sometimes its about range. when falco's do that fadeback nair bs, clearly, i can't grab, but uair oos works in that situation if i react fast enough. and yes, samus has the end all be all up b oos, so you don't really have to worry about things like that.

sometimes people just feel like they have to roll and forget about other potential options that they may have when it's their back and not the front. just psychological bs.

edit: yeah, but i see a lot of falcons get away with aerial dair -> uair/nair stuff. i guess falcons dair is harder to tech sometimes? idk. but the falling nair would be fun cuz i'm pretty sure it could lead into fair, whereas a falling uair would lead into them just being on a platform or something.

The fadeback nair should be safe against pretty much anything. Don't think about hitting falco out of it, but escaping it. Mix up roll, jump and waveland oos. Just focus on getting out of your bad position. Fadeback aerial is safe for falco, but it gives him less frame advantage to punish everything so you can actually escape more easily than say vs. fox's shield pressure even if you don't have much of a chance of hitting him.

Karn, I don't think you are taking into account jumping...jumping isn't instantaneous in Melee, so you have to add that to the start-up, unless Sheik's nair is like 1 frame.

Yeah that's what I was going to say
If sheik's jump is 4 frames [iirc]
Then Nair hits on frame 8
making it worse than grab by one frame

Craig, you know you won't body me. You just want to rep your state. HAH! The best player in NC isn't even top 5 in the South, AND I AM THE BEST IN THE SOUTH! GET THE **** AT ME.

@Kadaj: On a serious note, you are top 10 in the South, but probably like 9 or 10.

There is me, seibrik, riddle, mvd, halzy, biglou, kismet, reflex, HRNut, and probably you.

I'm pretty good in Melee too.

The 20th in Charlotte so it's not far from SC!

Lots of people goin and we got some Florida and even like NY/NJ Brawl interest so turnout will be solid. =)

There is no way I can get to G6. I'll be moving in that day into my dorm.

When is the next tournament after that?

next tourney in charlotte is looking to be sep. 17th, but like i said you'll have a lot of trouble finding a ride since the SC scene is basically dead
also that tourney might be brawl only, idk

Oh, interesting. It'd be nice if they had Melee too because it tends to bring out new people and it's Charlotte but if not I'll understand since they're doing well as far as Brawl goes.
