I do that nearly every time anyway. I didn't know it was a "stock cancel" , but L-canceling with Z like I do..... I just triple tap Z for an aerial, l-cancel(EC as well), to another aerial extremely fast.

i mean...if you try to l cancel on the true edge of a stage after edge canceling, you'll airdodge...and die...

that's what i mean by stock cancel...i really can't tell if anyone is seeing that...

oh ok. yeah obviously i hit the l-cancel a frame or 2 before on the true edge... Didn't know what you meant for a sec. I thought "stock cancel" was weird because it's essentially the same thing anyway, just a habit I developed so missed edge cancels aren't as painful, plus it's easier to pivot your aerials in between the EC this way.

I've had a few weird things happen doing EC's this way, though. Stuff I'm not familiar with... anyway. Like I have edge canceled a ganon dair, then with speed much faster than the time saved with an L cancel(which is why I can only conclude the edge had part in it), I techrolled back on to the very platform I just edge canceled... This has happened twice with me during Fair EC pivot Fair attempts. Still a little confused about what is happening.

but if you weren't on dreamland, idk haha. but i feel like even if you edgecancel, it's not guarunteed that you're off the edge. i think you can edgecancel and then shield...maybe...not quite sure.

one on DL, one on yoshi's I believe. Definitely wasn't spacing against the wind perfectly like that is... Each time it's happened unrealistically fast. The stomp was instantly canceled from an EC, then the next thing I know tech roll the opposite way of which I just edgecanceled. I must be getting some kind of spacing advantage to do so by going for those pivots, I guess. Only thing I know for sure about it.

Dude, I'm from gamefaqs. We specialize in breaking combos and beating thing with ganon with no strats in usually 2:04 and telling people what bad things will happen to them if they bend over.

Quite frankly terrible.

Jesse if you're facing forward your teeter animation cancels aerials instantaneously just like an edge cancel. If you're facing backwards I have no idea.

I was hella tired and thought it was funny, and now I see I've started a real conversation about cancel canceling.

That wasn't trolling. It was spam if anything. If I wanted to troll, which I don't, I would have said something like


--ah screw it, I don't troll.

...Actually my playstyle is trollish. If I can emotionally compromise my opponent, that just gives me one more advantage.
