Is it still cool to hate Lil Wayne? I don't care what anyone says, this song blew me away the first time I heard it and I still think it's tight as ****: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDpvavg96Jc

For the indie kids:
The Morning Benders - Excuses (in studio, recorded "wall of sound" style).
I'd recommend this to fans of stuff like Girls or Beach House. The record was produced by the guy who did Yellow House for Grizzly Bear, iirc.

plus, the lead singer looks kinda like a more azn, less lep version of Pat.

For everyone:
The Ronettes - Be My Baby

One of the greatest pop cuts of all time. Brian Wilson, master of pop music, says it's the best ever. It's produced by Phil Spector who pioneered this "Wall of Sound" style of production (that Brian Wilson ripped off for the Beach Boys).

Fly must have been reading about Richard Feynman lately.
Semi-on-topic with the weird vocals, the best use of yodeling in all of rock music (and a pretty damn good jam in and of itself):
Focus - Hocus Pocus

I really like this:

It's from a space-western-musical called The American Astronaut, which I have not seen but greatly desire to.
