I saw Scale the Summit on their last show of 2012. One of the smallest shows I've been too, but they still kicked ***. Can't wait to here what their new album will sound like

Well you're not going to hear it, because I'm pretty sure everyone in Ohio hates Ke$ha except for me.

Come to think of it, I think everyone in the world hates Ke$ha, except for me.

I don't really mind though, because I understand why people don't like her.

It's actually the opposite over here XD, there's a HUGE Ke$ha following at Penn State, and it pisses me off so badly. You know the music scene is ****ed up when they name a nightclub after an Avicii song and everybody goes crazy about going there. :(

while it has nothing to do with metal, Kesha did a Bob Dylan cover that was actually really enjoyable
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNCEV7ZSNFo
I found it painfully boring, and I couldn't even get through the whole thing, which is funny because I like Ke$ha's own music.

New track by Thy Art is Murder called "Reign of Darkness"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47Plg93oJ1M

Not what I expected from them but I'm loving it
I really like it. The track has a good mix of breakdowns and in-your-face parts. I do miss their older stuff though.

why isn't White Arms of Athena ****ing HUGE? They have some of the only clean/power vocals I truly love and their composition and riff-writing is just ridiculously good. A perfect balance between tasteful progressions and facemelting brut riffs. I don't understand how they are on Prosthetic and still it seems like nobody knows or cares about them. They are one of the biggest influences on my own band and I can't wait to play with them. As big as BTBAM has gotten I just don't get it how these guys are so ignored because it's very much in the same vein (though still not on BTBAM's level, but at this point I'm starting to believe BTBAM are actually demigods in disguise trying to show us how music performance SHOULD be so it's unfair to compare anyone to them)

Thanks for the link, definitely going to jam their album while i'm at work.

My bandmates have finally gotten all their equipment together and we are going to write a few more songs then try and tour around the gulf coast, and from the sounds of it Luigi we could tour together. We are going for a more progressive metal sound too

Based on that song I totally understand how they're ignored. If they stopped marketing it as metal and started marketing it as Technical-Jimmy-Eat-Worldcore it'd probably do well.

That new Anaal Nathrakh track is one of the most boring Anaal Nathrakh tracks ever and it's still infinitely more interesting than what most bands are doing.
sounds like a youtube comment :c
no offense meant

i may be paranoid but it feels like the Ben just waits for me to post so he can trash whatever band/song I happen to bring up, lol.

new Witch Mountain track. some sexy viola in the beginning and pretty sweet solo. this feels different/darker than South of Salem which is one of my favorite stoner doom albums in the past few years, but it's still identifiably WM.

also I had no idea the singer was so hot. that girl is so up my alley.

Machinae Supremacy's new album is released this Friday.

A large chunk of the album is on their soundcloud account.

For those who are unfamiliar with this band, their entire discography is available for free online in 320kbps vbr0/flac, or can be streamed on soundcloud @ 320kbps

My head made friends with the guitarist for Forty Winter's guitar headstock at a show tonight. ouch. i headbanged directly onto the headstock and gashed the corner of my eyebrow fairly deep. i'd been drinking a ton so there was a ****load of blood.

Forty Winters are cool guys so they gave me a shirt and took a picture with me for posterity. Their music isn't really the kind of thing I listen to but I think they do it well and their stage presence and live sound is wonderful.

I used to be kind of a hardcore hater but after playing so many hardcore shows and meeting so many great people I've grown kinda fond of it. not something i really listen to but i just love high energy shows even if i don't like the band's music.

I wish less people listened to the music I listen to, so I'd be more hipster and the bands would be objectively better by being more underground :D

Last metal thing I finally got around to listening to is "Down". Their album Nola is an amazing piece of art imho :)
Other than that I'm listening to lots of Sabaton at the moment (yay cheese <3)

wow I just opened my music feed and saw that Dethklok, Wintersun, Converge, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Enslaved, Neurosis and Converge all either had their latest album leaked or released in like the past week or two.

You said Converge twice, but hey, they're good enough to make me listen to a genre I don't touch much.

well I mean... Dethklok (Brendon Small) doesn't make music poorly.
if by seriously you mean they don't think there's a satirical layer there then yeah, that's inexplicable. Like people who pronounce the T in 'Colbert Report' lol

I think they suffer less from an expectation of humor than, say, Tenacious D, where if they can't make you laugh, the song is kind of a waste.

Dethklok is like death/pop, it's entertaining and catchy as hell.
but as for taking them completely seriously, I'm on the same boat. I don't get that

I'd much rather listen to a more simplistic band like dethklok than most of the simplistic radio metal

Anyone bored and interested should listen to the album "Sound the Trumpet" by Dear Whoever. It's some very genuine post-hardcore. I forgot how much I acutally love this band and especially that album. Not sure whether I'm happy or sad that the band stopped making music seeing how alot of bands who become more and more famous lose more and more of their original sound. Pretty selfish way to look at it though
