Guys, I'm planning to go to the Rocket's Hideout tournament tomorrow. If anyone shows, I can practice with you for Smashcon if you're planning to go.
Also, you've been told this many times, but I'm just verifying the fact that while component cables do indeed make Brawl (Can't speak for Melee) playable on aHD TV, your timing for stricter moves like Falco's Bdacus will be off when you go to a CRT. Careful.

Hey Taylor, there much of a limited scene over there in BR? If there's drafting one night or another that would probably heavily influence if/when I decide to swing by, particularly if there's decent prize support for such things. Down to draft either rav block or mm, whichever one people are playing.
(Hell, I'd love to draft innistrad, but it's probably harder to get a tournament for that lately. Triple inn is probably my favorite draft format ever though.)

there is at least one rtr draft every friday at rockets. gamer's paradise 20 mins out of br probably has something too. rocket's does mm draft randomly. mostly based on demand. if you post on fb and get 7 other people to come, they will host the draft with prizes. rocket's hideout is a really great card shop.

Just an FYI if this weekend goes VERY well, we'll be moving to a hotel near the airport and turning Smashcon into a NOLA regional. It will help bring OOS's in more easily with discounted Hotel pricing and being near all sorts of transportation. Another thing I decided we shall still do a big event at Ohana pier's venue (In Slidell) leading up to the larger NOLA Regional Event at the Hotel. Its a great venue and the owners love us plus the place is perfect so I see no need to abandon it.
We have many iffy variables here still but if all works out the conventions should blow up especially with us planning to push for larger events overall when Smash 4 Comes out.
Just a heads up.

I won the Rocket's Hideout tourney (~ 7 people), but I'm not satisfied with my game. I'm coming off of a 6+ month hiatus, but still >_< I'm going to get wrecked at Summer Con lol.

Here's a stream schedule, just ******* do it:
Saturday
10 AM - Brawl Doubles
Noon - Melee Doubles Finals/64 Doubles Finals (whatever you have available) and then swap into Brawl Singles until next time slot
2 PM - Melee Singles
4 PM - N64 Finals
6 PM - Any traditional fighter you have going on (preferable MVC or SF or Injustice since it is new)
8 PM to close - Brawl Finals
Sunday
10/11 AM - PSAS
Noon - I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SCHEDULE
3 PM - KOF13 for the nice folks at home
4 PM - Mario Karts of any kind
6 PM - Gunner gets to run PKMN Yellow (He won't be there Sunday, dur, so that just means that Sunday is boring *sadface*)
8:30 PM - DGAF
CLOSE
In fact, streaming Sunday sounds horrible honestly. Just don't.
If you can't even get remotely close to this, you need to stop pretending like you want to stream stuff. Seriously, the last stream was TERRIBLE. Get somebody to take care of the stream, make sure it doesn't crash and stuff.

So after Summercon, I realized we could have a legit PR, but the frequency in which those members attend tournaments wouldn't justify one lol.

well the wii u is an HD console (bout time nintendo), so i dont see why u cant just use HD TVs.
I've spent 99% of my time with mine on the gamepad so I don't know. I know the gamepad shows visuals slightly faster than the TV though. The only thing I play with the TV is zombii u and its not really fast paced.

I meant for tournaments. HD's would be a bit more pricey to get to tournaments.
I have and HDTV right next to my CRT lol. I used it for my 360, but I haven't played my 360 since UMvC3 released.

HDs are not that pricey when you consider the convenience. The main reason major TOs need to stockpile TVs is because old TVs that are not to big and not to small AND still working are hard to find and hard to move around, so attendees can rarely supply them. Once we are playing on a console that lets us bring the little TV from our bedroom (small enough to just throw in a backpack or duffel bag), the community will be able to supply dozens of setups easily.
Small HDTVs from cheap brands don't cost much. 32 inches can be gotten from 100-200 NEW. 13-26 can go for 80-130 if you are willing to use stuff like emerson, proscan and RCA

Slidell was a long drive for us!
The powers of a carpool. Could always coordinate one from the Northshore to there. Or even see if someone from BR is going up there so hitch a ride with them. If I had decided to go almost full time at work this summer instead of taking summer school, I'd be traveling more, but education trumps smash in priority.

So I'm still in New Orleans and kind of at loose ends today since the guy I'm staying with is working and I have no other plans. Anyone up for some sort of melee at dibbz? Let me know on here, or hit Ran or Taylor up for my number (or maybe Mura or batto or various other BR people as my # hasn't changed since I lived here last, but I don't know if they still have it).
I also have my settlers board for those who remember playing that with me before I left last time, if anyone is so inclined.

I'd come out if it were a big tournament such as Summercon or Wintercon, but for a local that's just too far, sorry! Not to mention my parents wouldn't let me drive to Ruston if I wanted to lol
