Good thing everyone loves FFVII apparently so no one will read that :laugh:

I did though, but when you can find legitimate fun in playing Sonic 2006 (even if just for exploiting it's stupid glitches), a little article on FFVII means nothing.

BUT I will say this. We all know Kefka is a ****ing ***** *** gay CLOWN. He's not even a cool clown like the Joker, who has style. He's a ****ing orange-and-yellow-and-purple-and-every-color-of-the-****ing-rainbow kind of clown. He auto-loses to any FF villain on that ground alone.

I like what his motivation is (just being a **** to everyone), but there's already a video game villain with Joker-esque insanity and being-evil-ecause-he's-a-****-to-everyone motivation.



And HE doesn't have to look like a clown XD

Anyway yeah chilling on Friday sounds good. Not only for me but for Kaiser, since he was expecting me to pick him up, but 695 wasn't on the way for me.

Plus I can't turn down an opportunity for smash or hitting the bar...or both. I do need to legitimately practice my Sonic if there's going to be a P:M event :chuckle:

Thanks to Sephiroth, we'll never be able to take an RPG villain seriously again. Tetsuya Nomura's discovery that leather-daddy albinos are inherently evil means that Sephiroth has become the template (and fashionplate) for the RPG villain: effeminate, ridiculous and driven by obscure motives. It's pretty sad that FFVI's Kefka literally dressed like a clown, yet represented a far more significant threat than his successor. Kefka broke the world in his quest for raw power, then ruled over the ruined remains with divine fury; Sephiroth wanted a hug from mommy and babbled a lot. Advantage: Kefka.

Honestly I can't see how he, let alone anyone, can take a villain that looks like that seriously.

And I'd like to contest the point that Sephiroth has become the template for all RPG villains. In fact, we've just recently gotten the BEST FF villain in existence. And he looks nothing like Sephiroth.



SUPERPOPE!

Kefka and Sephy can eat it. :p

And yet Kefka actually succeeded in conquering the ****ing world, while Sephiroth just cried in a corner somewhere. Kefka is 10 times the villain Seph ever was. Seph is that emo kid in high school who secretly holds a grudge against the jocks. Kefka is the psychopath who shoots the school up and shows no remorse afterwards.

I can't pass judgement on Superpope because I don't know what he did.

kefka aint the greatest, you all are forgetting giygas. he took over the world, destroyed it sooooooo much that they had to travel to the past just to find someone that was still able to fight. and hes also so evil, i cant even post a picture. also if you read interviews with the creator of the series shigesato itoi, the idea behind giygas makes him that much more insane and evil.

Apparently Giygas is so evil and crazy, no one can comprehend his true form. All you see is a sort of red haze that has a contorted face locked into a look of agony within it. You can't even comprehend the form of his attacks, as they go beyond what the human mind can imagine.

Not to mention that when they found the people who were supposed to kill him, they themselves had to travel back in time to fight the dude.

Though the most unnerving part of that fight was the dialog.

@ count - almost right, you actually travel to the future to fight him. also tell me youve read the interview where they discribe how giygas came to be.

I don't believe I've seen the interview on how Giygas came to be, but I did see the scene that influenced Itoi into creating him.

Nah, I just think evil clowns make better villains than emo momma's boys. Also, Kefka = FF just as much as Sephiroth does, if not moreso since he came first.

Actually now I think Lavos may be the best villain. He took a nap and then destroyed the world without even trying. And Earth most likely wasn't the first planet he *****. He's basically Krang taken to the most evil and powerful extreme.

And his roar... even more evil and twisted than Kefka's laugh, if that was possible.


Oh and Chuck, you'll be proud of me. I joined a softball league. Unfortunately games are Wednesdays and Fridays so I'm gonna have to miss our weekly BWW runs and save it for the weekend.

And we might be getting a puppy.

First: I laugh at all pointless conversation like "who is the better villain?" since I obviously have no perspective on the matter. (Sephiroth a cry baby? Eh... a stretch but a psychotic emo on steroids riding a crystal meth high... probably a little more accurate).

Second: It's about time! I'm surprised it took you this long to get back to playing softball. The good thing is I was thinking of cutting back on going out during the week and hitting the gym, so it works out.

Third: Puppy? I've heard this before...

*Bonus*: 37 hours into FF13, on the world map, and doing side missions. It's kind of funny because I was destroying creatures no more than an hour ago and now, one of the side missions has me facing off against a creature I am no where near strong enough to beat.

Kefka isn't just a generic mass murderer. He is actually the dictionary definition of a psychopath (you know, that thing that Jason pretends to be). The Wiki article on psychopathy is really interesting. Total lack of empathy. People might be selfish jerks but true psychopaths are rare.

I've talked to him already. He said he'd be fine with it, but he's 19, so I'm not sure he can go barring with us. I'm not sure what the laws are in MD, but would he be able to get in but not drink?

So why not ... play ... them? It's at least worth playing through the classics once. It wasn't until college before I DLed an SNES emulator and started playing some of the classics, and I really regret waiting that long because a lot of SNES games are now among my favorite games of all time. Including ones that I was very skeptical about.

Luckily, I'm willing to give just about anything a chance. I gave FF7 probably around 20 hours before I couldn't force myself to continue. I gave Brawl over a year. It's fine if you have different tastes in games but you should at least give something a legit chance before you pass judgement. And who knows, you might end up loving it.
