Jason's not coming, so you can tell Quinnydinny it's safe.

So, TH, are you coming down tonight or tomorrow?

Also, do you guys wanna see Scott Pilgrim vs the World this weekend? Maybe like noonish Saturday?

I'll come up today. Figure whichever way I do it I'll see both parties on Saturday anyway. And I really want to check out the Hoimi table trick.

But since I'll be leaving around 5, I should be there at about 7:30-8ish. Hope you guys can hold out that long ;).

You sure seemed to be enjoying it at Apex...

I wanna try out some of the more experimental things in the incubators, like armor Bowser and Pit's Wingcar and stuff.

I enjoyed it so much that I played BlazBlue XD.

Anyway the game was awesome as usual. It's the design philosophies and the politics that I can't stand. You can add removing buffer choice to my list of grievances (even Street Fighter has 1 frame of buffer, and the complete lack of it bothered me in Melee too, one of the only things I really disliked about it).

Again, not a bad change, and one that I'll simply practice to overcome, but I can't personally advocate removing the choice.

The choice hasn't been removed. It's just defaulted to off to discourage it since it will likely be banned from tournaments.

Would you ban it in tournaments? Since that would be the only tournaments I'd probably ever see if I would ever play this again it would matter what your opinion was.

I just think it is funny an arbirtrary decision was made for buffer when, in reality, that decision can't be made since the game is far from being "done." Besides, we already proved a higher buffer kills you in this game.

I agree with TH; just a stupid thing to govern when it is something that was met with a lot of praise when it came out. Choice is a good thing and allows flexibility.

Anyway, I can't do the movie Saturday because of a picnic I'm going to attend. Keep me informed on the bonfire as I am pretty sure we'll at least be dropping by for a little bit.

Yes I would ban it from my tournaments. I may end up disagreeing with the BR on stage lists, but I do agree on that. This is Project M, not Brawl+, and tech skill/execution is an important part of gameplay. Practice should be rewarded, and buffer is just training wheels.

Remember this is coming from a guy with garbage tech skill.

Bah, well, it's not like I planned on going to a tourney or anything, but it is good to know up front.

And I play Zelda so no tech skill needed.

I'm up for movies, just tell me when to show up tomorrow.
Let's shoot for the 1:35 showing on Saturday. The theater is at Owings Mills Mall which is right next to the metro, so try to get there around 1-1:15.

Yes tonight JCaez

if we're not doing bdubs tonight, then tomorrow, but I want to do plenty of bdubing

now BBWs though
We're definitely doing BWW tonight. As soon as TH gets into town, so probably 8ish.

Apparently that guy is a boss, but you fight him for a DLC quest, which would explain why he's sleeping now. I don't know what quest it is and when it's available.

After some more looking, I found out that the japanese version JUST got this quest, which means we won't have it for another year if we follow their release schedule.

DQ9 just came out for DS. It's multiplayer. We've all been playing the hell out of it recently.

Also, congrats on making the Brawl+ thread the most active it's been in like 6 months  since Pound 4 probably.

I dunno if you know this but I'm in the Project M backroom, so if you wanna try it out I can hook you up. It'd have to be in person though. I can't give out the codeset as we're still in closed alpha testing, focused on not making the same mistakes that Brawl+ did.

That's one minor part of it but yeah. The big thing is that it's basically a standard JRPG (a bit MMORPGish feel) but you can quest with up to 4 people at the same time. And it's designed really well for that multiplayer aspect of it. Tons of fun.

And cool, hope to see you this weekend! Let me know.

I heard it was mad casualized though.

Ike was so much fun the other day. Perfect for me in that game. He didn't do so well in doubles though. Ike had a smash 64 l cancel style game with some melee wavedashing throw games with dthrow and uthrow. He played a lot like a slow falcon which is good for me since I don't do well with real technical characters, my hands aren't fast enough these days with CTS syndrome

Metaknight seemed to still be **** though

MK is currently undergoing a complete revamp, but I'm glad you like Ike.

Nah not really. It doesn't focus much on story but the gameplay is impeccable. The class system is literally the best, most interesting, and most fun one I've ever seen in a DQ or FF game. And there is no lack of challenges in the post-game material (which is where the real meat of the game is, not that the main story isn't good). And multiplayer is seamless and really well done.

oh yeah learning how to jump cancel grab was cool, I didn't know you could do that until this year

yes i was that bad at melee (actually in 07 or so, I was pretty good with just fox, becuase i was really fast with him and good at gimps and combos, but had 0 shine game, but i would've still been a scrub amongst tourney scene)

Did you try out all the various things you can do with Ike's side-B now? It's so much more than just jumping out. You can do high-speed usmashes, high-speed grabs, feint approaches by wavedashing back out of it ... it's so fun.
