No gtfo <3

I'm back in VA though!

Also JCz where did you get all of your MintJam stuff. Seriously after I heard Crimson Sunset and especially Despair (my new fav track from them. I'll be damned if that's not a song on my Wii), I'm like a MintJunkie. I need some of that high quality stuff

You guys have anything comin' up? I gotta figure out where the metro is near me (if there even is one in this area ffs).
We're kinda booked up for the next 2 weekends, but after that I could probably throw a smashfest in Westminster. You still live in Rosedale?

I'll show you this weekend. Also remember I have 7+ gigs of video game remixes with the JCaesar Seal of Approval for you, including plenty of MintJam you probably don't have.

Actually lemme check ... I have 64 MintJam songs :reverse:

Actually I don't because I get a lot of Metal Gear Solid references when I do and other people saying "You could be my TWIN". Or the occassional Mexican Twin(s).

As well to find people talking about me, it's not as easy as BANKS is to search. I have to search twin, twinA, Twin_A, twins, magic twins, tw1n, twin1, twin_1, etc (people usually talk about both of us so why not :p)

However I decided to for the hell of it and came across this post. So I thought I'd drop in and say sup :p

And no sadly I'm not. Not unless I win the lottery at least :(
I'm all over Genesis 2 though.

Hum, maybe it's because I'm just still sleepy, but I think most of the trolls that got the Project M thread locked (for the 3rd time) were from NC.

Now which user from NC do I know that frequents the thread, has been recently disgruntled with P:M and the team, and is a giant troll and thus would be friends with other giant trolls.

hmmmmmmm

It's always Atl South. I'm tempted to ban Atl South in its entirety from Project M at Pound V. And Canada. Just cause.

Since the Project M thread is closed I might as well as you guys.
Why is everyone so upset about leaks? If someone mentions something that has obviously been fixed, just ignore them. The main thread should be clear that they probably played a leak and therefore don't have to do anything about addressing people's problems in said leak. If people want to play leaks, let them. They should be knowledgeable enough to know its not an up to date build once they go on the forums and start complaining(If they didn't read the first post which addresses leaks, they get ignored). it really is that simple.

Leaks really aren't that big a problem. Happens all the time with nearly every game on the market, and game devs often give versions to magazines and etc who let certain people play it. Not that worrying.

It's not really about the random people who play leaks. It's a problem when someone who doesn't follow Project M closely, like Dr PP, plays a leak with someone who doesn't know/care about the state of Project M (which actually happened) and jumps to conclusions about it based on an unfinished or rough build.

I don't see how you could think leaks are ok. People in professional game companies get fired over leaks. One of Brawl+'s big problems was the fact that the public had access to unpolished builds. We're not making those same mistakes. We bring it to tournaments and smashfests to have people playtest it while the resident PMBR member can put things in context and collect feedback.

But why can't you just simply dismiss Dr. PP's claims as playing a leaked build? Skim over his post. If it obviously sounds like his conclusions are based off an older build, just simply state "You played a leaked copy and its old". Done.

Obviously its impossible to keep unpolished builds under the roof. The main difference between game companies with game builds and Project M is that you guys have to distribute your builds out to a lot of different people VIA the internet. Game companies keep their copies in closed doors till a month of two before release usually. So there has to be some sort of low tolerance for this or come up with a plan to control it.

Don't even joke about something like that man, don't do it!

But lol no, srs, don't kid yourself. Sure, SOME of them get fired, but leaks aren't that big a thing. They happen ALL THE TIME. They're inevitable. And sometimes, they're certainly not a bad thing.

*looks at CAPCOM games*

When actual games being leaked comes to mind, well that depends. If it lowers sales, sure, that's terribad. If it sparks interest, that's ****ing great. You can never tell. Imo, leaks, in this case, would spark interest more than lower sales (sales which PM won't have cuz of no cost).

Why? Because the build they get won't be the final one.

Guy are you really still in the PM back room?

Leaks are terrible. You might be legally ******** if you think that they are good. Leaks are of course things that are unintentionally shared. If we wanted to share PM we would be doing an open beta. Leaks are uncontrolled, and as a developer you never want to lose control of your software.

Granted leaks have are less of an impact without monetary concerns on the line, but whether or not PM sparks someones interest is all in that players opinion. One opinion in this community coming from the some key individual could influence another persons opinion and so on. So it is important to make the right impression.

Guy got kicked out of the backroom for being a dumb***.

Dr PP didn't make any claims to us. He just played a crappy leaked version and didn't like it, and without knowing the context of the build, he has a bad impression of P:M, which he can spread around his area, and people will listen because he's a top Melee player. And here we are now. Everyone in NC hates P:M because the leak was widespread there.

How about this: whether you think it's a big deal or not, the PMBR thinks it is, and it's our call because we made it.

Yeah I know about that poll. Lots of Brawl ***s were advertising it. I voted for like everything on there except Brawl (and Other - Melee of course).

>>implying that MLG cares about the player's opinions
If this was true, why would brawl get removed from the circuit but Tekken 6 stays when Brawl got waaay more numbers attendance-wise? Obviously the players caring about Brawl > Tekken.

Tekken 6 has support of the developers of the game and Sony. Sony supplied the top 8 in the finals with PS3s, and the developers of the game came to MLG Dallas and signed them. They all got their pictures taken together as well. They also had the livestream. This is why that game could stay, because it has support and room to grow. Brawl literally got as good as it would get on its own this year. No Nintendo support or developer support, not only that, but, they wouldn't even allow a livestream. How do you expect to generate super hype mode with text updates.

People were really interested in brawl too, that's the funny thing. Most of the tekken players and even some Halo players were like "that looks really tough and fun." Starcraft players could care less though

But the community themselves supported Brawl. Hence why I stand by my statement. No support from Nintendo being there reason to discontinue it does not really defend MLG's case when I say they care about the player's opinions.

Curious though. Why no live stream?
