I think it was one of your vids I seen where dthrow on Fox had him DI off stage behind Ganon at low percents. The dsmash whiffed cause it was in the wrong direction but Fox was in stun as he fell off the stage instead of normally being able to tech. I was thinking dthrow by the edge and if they DI off stage dsmash and maybe it'll bring em in and spike em off the side of the stage. Only thing is they would have to DI behind you so the grab is gonna be odd to get. Just an idea. Sounds like it might work though.

I tested out a bunch of new comboes/techase strats at genesis to see if they would work against a wide range of players and I found a couple useful ones.

On Fox/Falco-

60% ish stomp<u smash-If they dont di it kills like at 70 percent LOL.

20% ish stomp<side b<uthrow<dthrow<jab-They most likely will di the dthrow forward into a jab but if they dont you can still turnaround jab them. At this point if they tech in you can stomp them or if they miss the tech they get faired.

Starting around 70 the cg is quite easy, just practice it, its really useful even on platform stages because spacies bounce real low out of the dthrow so they dont get an opportunity to tech on the platform. I like to uthrow once they get around 110-120 let them tech the platform, and punish with uair/fair. If they DI back just bair. Another option at this percent is dthrow to ftilt, surprisingly it kills alot of the time.

If your cging a spacie and they DI towards the edge and they fall off you can either fair/uair them or what I got to work a couple times around 70 was dtilt to fair/uair. This applies to the edge of platforms as well.

On Peach-

Ah I love peach, grabs **** her up so much lol.

0-10%- dthrow<jab<uair<follow up with air juggling-I know what your probably thinking, yes peach can nair out of your dthrow at this percent, but very often they dont and you get this sweet combo.

60% and higher-dthrow<usmash-Use this alot, it gets you a really early kill if they DI up or dont DI.

Peaches that know how to fight ganon like to DI in this spot that is kinda above behind you but not behind enough to bair, and as it seems not up enough to u smash. I see ganons letting peach out of their throws without punishment way too often. This is when the usefullness of the turn around usmash comes in
The trick is to slightly tap the control stick back while at the same time flicking the c stick up.

0-10%-stomp<grab<fsmash- If they DI the dthrow forward it's a nice clean combo, deals an easy 50%.

On Falcon-

I like to dthrow regrab falcon when he doesnt DI back and then jab to fair, for some reason most falcons don't tech the jab

Thats all I got for now, Ill be gone for the next 2 weeks, when I get back to the US ill def elaborate more on the rest of my strats.

Hope these help.

is there anything you can really do out of a jab other than...jab again?

i find myself having the timing to jab opponents out of things but i can never find out what to do next. often times i attemp a wizards foot, sometimes it works but i think at lower percents, they just sheild once my animation starts.

You'd want to read their reaction and **** them for being predictable. If they shield then fake an aerial and do an empty jump and go from there.

I jab and run up to them for a grab. You can Side B (especially against Marth, since it pushes him too far to shield grab you) -> combos. You can also FTilt angled up, so that they can't do anything OoS.

Jab to immediate jc grab is my favorite but it's not guaranteed.

It really depends on their char, the situation, and if/how they di the jab.

Hmm. Alright.

And in general, what do you guys think about when you're playing? I know that when Cactuar plays, he tends to watch the opponent's character, to see if there's patterns.

Well, I watch how they react to my movements.

I'll do a few empty jumps in the beginning and some waveland jabs to gauge how they wake-up and respond to an oncoming attack.

Basically, I want to pick up on all of their habits ASAP so I can setup traps later on into the match.

The first thing I look for is if they ever tech in. Those are the best, and extremely easy to punish. Then I look at their OoS game, to see if I can get some grabs.

But I only look for these in serious matches.

I watch my opponent at all time's, thats what you should be doing. If not, try to as much as you can and eventually you will get accustomed to it by instinct.

and when someone tech rolls in against any ganon i pray for them lol

I think watching the other person's OoS game is very crucial. Sometimes I will try to see if I can even empty hop behind them for a grab. Or in front of them. Just to see what they'll react with, and if poking their shield with a Dair will make them jump. Punishing stuff I predict is something very good.

Hmmm... Techs are harder to predict. What do I do if they're never consistent and have no patterns?

stage position is so important. as a fox main I love it when you play inexperienced players on PS and they don't notice where you are standing prior to an advantageous transformation. nice infinite shine for them :D

No teching patterns. As in... They actually think everytime. They look at where you're positioned, and act accordingly. I don't know. Its very, very hard for me to find teching patterns from these people.

You have to create the patterns. If you let them dictate their techs you will be hopeless but if you put your self in tech roll distance they will have one less option. Now will you approach them or catch them trying to call your bluff? This is one of a few ways to initiate and read techs you want.

I think the DSmash thing is the best option. Just do the DSmash tech chase/Side B or Fair a tech away. If they're low I try to stomp on them.
