What do you usually do when you see that your opponent, who is obviously using Peach, has plucked a stichface?

I haven't played against many other Peaches (which might be because I main Peach), but in the few instances that the opposing Peach has pulled a stitch in a match, I usually just try to be as offensive as possible. In my opinion, if you try to run a away from your opponent, it just gives them more time to throw it at you at the opportune moment.

On average, how many regular turnips does Peach actually hit you with in a match? 1? 2? Most of the time you just avoid them/shield them/catch them/hit them, right?

Same should apply with a stitch.

But if you're having trouble dealing with them, in my experience the best way is to bait her to throw it. Run up to her or approach with a SFFL'd aerial stupidly and then run away from the inevitable stitch. It's easier for me because I main Sheik, but whatever.

Stupidly approachin with an aerial is probably the best way to get some stitches in your face.

As someone who plays peach quite a bit, that's not really true. Once I have a stich, I am much more careful and am going to do everything I can to make sure it hits. With regular turnips, most of the time you're just throwing to cut off or limit one or more of your opponent's options; you're not even expecting them to get hit with it. You're expecting them to dodge it, so you are planning your punish or next move based on where they can dodge it. Peaches options out of shield, grabs, dmashes, not floated aerials, etc almost all have a better reward than landing 7% or whatever with a turnip. (with more options and greater rewards, most of the time it's actually better to not be holding a turnip). Having a stichface though, can be a game changer.

If you're marth just stay in the air so you can hit it with the fair and the catch it. Otherwise just stand still and powershield XD

Just play like normal while keeping it in mind <_<
Suddenly being scared of Peach just because she has a stitch is pretty bad IMO

I've noticed that pichu is about the same size as a turnip...
that often makes me sad when I'm jus' jumpin' about nairin' and whatnot, then a stitchface comes out... its worse when its a bomb though.

False, the turnips you avoid during the match are thrown for spacing purposes, most of the time you get hit by peach because you avoided some turnip.
You gotta get around stitchfaces differently, because Peach actually wants to hit you with it.

The "Z-catching it in midair" thing is also overrated, because she will put you into a really bad situation before throwing it.
A good example of that is Armada vs Mango at G2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ9c-2lAld4
At 14:05, we can see that armada doesn't directly throws the stitchface to Mango's face, he lands a fair before. That way, Mango won't be able to avoid the turnip because of the stun. And even if Mango does dodge it by using his getup attack, it opens a window for Armada to land a dash attack, which cost Mango his stock (because using the get up attack was the only way to dodge the stitchface).
The infamous stitchface combo works that way, Armada waited to land a fair before throwing his turnip.

So, to avoid getting hit by a stitchface, remember those things:

-Peach will rarely just throw it at you, she'll try to combo you into the turnip.

-She has to stay in float, since she can't use her ground moves and keep her stitchface.

-The best way for Peach to hit you straightly with the turnip (if she tries to), is to wait for you to be above her.

Therefore, I think the best way to beat Peach's stitchface is to camp the crap out of her: her options will be super limited, because she won't be able to stitchface you from a long distance (especially on FD/Dreamland/PS) and she can't outcamp you without letting her precious turnip go.
There might be other ways to get around it, but I think camping is the best one.

I'm too tired to re-read carefully my post, so pardon my bad english.

I play sheik, and I think this only works for sheik since her short hop is so high, but hopefully it helps. It also works for bobombs.

I usually get to about 1.3 marth fsmash tipper distance from them, and then do an empty hop, fast fall it, and then immediately shield. Since sheik's short hop is high, she looks open enough for people to try to punish on reaction, but if you fastfall it the stitchface/bobomb won't actually hit. You might even be able to catch the stitch if it bounces off your shield.

I'm in favor of approaching Peach when she has the stitch, cause she wants to set something up to hit you with it. So just put pressure on her, making her wish she didn't have a stitch in her hand.

BUUUT, I'm a Peach main, so please, just stand there. Or roll predictably, like DoH said. =D

Just rush in like I normally do because it's not a beam sword, I hate those things with a passion.

I think it was my third tournament where I forfeited a match because someone pulled out a beam sword, I know I can't win against those jedi mind tricks.
