Air hacked the game and gets at least 1 or 2 bombs per game.

Spam FLUDD. It stops her float approaching and stuff.

I have a replay against a good Peach I know. I should record that since I think I played the match-up pretty well.

Lol... I'm so lost... are we discussing Peach again, Samus, or D3?

For D3, I suggest playing it really, really gay, staying near the edges the whole game, and/or getting a secondary.

I find myself playing sorta campy like...last stock. Human instinct to survive and play it safe when threatened...

I just can't play an entire match around it. The "**** this" reflex is too strong.

I get you, but you gotta be above the influence.

There are much more things we can get into about it, but most of this matchup is that you have to play very cautiously. You can get aggressive once you're in because like most big, heavy targets we can juggle pretty well. Stay by the very edge of the stage for most of this. 60:40 Dedede. Look at the D3 boards for any other information.

Samus is next right?

Despite me being so late on being informed about this place mentioning Pit, I have played a few Marios in the past and can put my 2 cents here.

Mario shoots fireballs slightly faster than Pit can use his arrows, and his fireballs can be hard to take out. Pit can surpress fireball apporaches with an angel ring, though Pit must be careful of a spaced Fsmash.

Pit and Mario just have about the same range, and where Mario's aerials are usually faster, Pit's aerials would usually have more priority.

Mario's U-air is a similar WOP comboing method as TL is with his B-airs, which should be noticed. Pit's F-airs isnt in that function since it's slow,, but still can play an important role in gimping.

As far as gimping goes, Pit shouldnt use too many arrows since the basic Mario uses Side-B, which is a reflector to slightly help him recover better. With F-air's reach, Pit can push Mario away keeping him away from the ledge, when timed in between capes. Pit also has his Mirror Shield to gimp Mario's Up-B when timed right.
For Mario, Gimping Pit can be difficult depending on the Pit and the stage. Recall that Pit is capable of gliding under the stage, shooting arrows as he approaches, or can use Up-B so high that you cant reach him til he comes down. Pit does hate getting spiked though -_- but with Pit's many options, GL trying.
-YI prevents Pit from gliding under the stage which takes away his option of gliding under the stage.

Pit's ground game is basic, but he's better when he's either in the air, or if his opponent is in the air. On the ground, Pit doesnt has completely much, except his F-throw to Stutterstep Fsmash which is an instant 0-30% at the beginning of ur stocks, and a few other things. Do be cautious of his D-tilt and U-tilt which is an easy way for Pit to get u in the air, which is where he wants you.

Oh yea, Pit's ledgecamping is one of the best, and Mario may have difficult times getting through it. Pit's U-air can destroy fireballs, and Pit has many options while on the ledge, from B-airing to F-airing to Angel Ring back on stage

Though I think I may have missed some info, I would believe this matchup to be 50-50 even to 55-45 Pit, as to consider that Pit will have plenty more options in this matchup than Mario does, including slightly being the better Gimper in this matchup, and with Pit's many recovering options further puts him up, but not by much.
Different stages can affect the matchup. As far as neutral goes, Pit hates YI the most. The shy guys might affect ur fireballs like they affect our arrows.

You can probably ask Sagemoon (Pit) and FEAR (Mario) from WA, about this matchup, who both have fought each other many times in this particular matchup.

EDIT: Just realized that this post makes up Post 1600. Congrats, Mario boards.

Samus has...over 100 energy tanks, a lot of beams, Hypermode, z-air.

She also takes a liking to killing Metroids and stuff.

Clearly, it's in her advantage.

battling samus is kinda 50:50 to me. i can easily block her missles and shots, but she is a pain to counter attack when she attacks me mid-air.

Updates are gonna be slow from here on out because there's gonna be a mass update. I've been wayyyy too lazy with all of my work here, I've been adding the page numbers for way too long.

Samus has a basic recovery but she does have two options. Gimping her isn't necessarily difficult, you just have to learn how and that comes from experience. She won't kill you for..forever..just avoid her spike and you're fine. Her spam is easy to avoid, a mere annoyance really. Your agility combined with your bair kinda **** the slow moving Samus, oh and Samus' shieldgrab is garbage, don't fear it.

Samus can recover in a variety of ways. Bombs to make up for distance, Zair, and her screw attack.

Despite having a bad shield-grab, she can still Up-B OoS, which is just as good. SDI it and punish accordingly.

Keep in mind that unlike in Melee, she can't attack out of bombo jumps, so bomb jumps too close to the stage can result in her getting spiked.

Or you could attempt to FLUDD her away from the bombs. *shrugs* Just throwing out ideas.

I fought Sago once over wifi...really good Samus main.

The matchup didn't seem too hard. Basic keep-away for Samus and **** once we get inside. Play to your strengths (comboing and pressure offstage via Fludd and fireballs) and her weaknesses (heavy = easy combo ability and extremely low KO power) and this match is pretty even. We're not that susceptible to projectile spam, especially because Fludd works so well here to screw up spacing. Keep it charged to pressure her to the edge, then slowly get close while caping back projectiles.

And yeah, don't be too aggressive offstage. Samus' spike is easily one of the best in the game.

Wishing Apex 2012 happened again.
5/5 and/or 55:45 Mario imo.

Like said before, she isn't that hard to gimp, but takes a observation and the right option for the job. Alot of samus's will be using their bombs for horizontal recovery and/or stalling to bait out any gimpers like us, she can use a quite Zair lengthy range for auto sweetspot (just speed edge hog and force a stage return is how you apply your damage). Keep in mind she has a beam shot and her missles to kick off any edgehogs we do. My favorite move is doing cape glide to a spike. Just force her to do a upb and cape that ****.

Her most feared tool onstage is really the Zair. If your good at powershielding, you should have no problem with this as long you can react the zair and the stuff she pulls after the zair as they love to follow up with things. If you see them airdodge, just throw out your shield meaning they will zair you.

Another quick note: Beware of the Dtilt, as well as her SH Dair>Fsmash.
(No idea about the actual matchup, so I'll just give tidbits of info I have from Brawling Samus in general.)

Yeah, Dtilt has deceiving range, and kills on any stage with a low ceiling earlier than we'd like. She can do some jab cancelling mindgame into a Dtilt.

make sure you're on point with edgehogging so she can't use her tether grab. That whip has massive range and will make gimping impossible.

If possible, toss a fireball or two before edgehogging to interrupt a tether.

I'll try and be more descriptive on this matchup. My friend's low tier main is Samus and I've seen Rhyme play who is probably the best Samus on the east coast.

Samus has missiles which are pretty good for camping, but they aren't hard. My idea is to approach while using FLUDD (Needs some testing before I say its reliable). The reason i don't say to cape is because it can be punished with a zair. That zair is such a pain in the *** and it can mess up aerial approaches pretty well. Her ground game isn't good at all, so I would say work on the ground when you can. He can definitely juggle Samus if we can get her in the air, but zair is very helpful at keeping us out. Her recovery is gimpable, but harder than it looks. Best way to gimp is to use fireballs or edgehog so she cant do a tether recovery then cape her screw attack. She isn't bad at gimping us either. Her spike is amazing. That is one of her biggest threats, especially if they can get us off stage often. Samus doesn't have many reliable kill moves. She has charge shot which should not hit you unless mindgamed, dtilt, the spike, and i think some other aerial. All of them take some time to be used. Approaching from above is helpful in this matchup. Utilt nor Usmash will do much to Mario and i don't think Uair will be all that helpful. We can outcamp her as well since FLUDD beats missiles. She is kinda heavy due to the armor she has, so it might take a little more time to kill her.

I agree with the amazing green lesbian. 60:40 Mario.
