Done Son. the other day i had a spark of brilliance while thinking about venues. alex said W2Z is the only place to play in manhattan so be it. im going to be talking to the management at web2zone and seeing if i can get some sort of melee weeklies on the weekend. If not a weekly then maybe a smashfest with a house fee. i know you guys hate to pay but its for the good of melee. The hope is eventually when we get enough attendance these smashfests will become Tourneys. and then eventually we will have a higher attendance then the brawl weeklies.

my plan is this. we all know everyone loves melee, but brawl is like that fuuucking hot *** spanish girl who is distracting them from the real girl of their dreams who is actually better looking and more fun to be with then that ***** who won't let you combo her. so i figure if the weekly melee tourneys start getting good attendance that maybe people will just eventually slide back over, and we will eventually be able to switch places and make the remaining brawlers play on saturday and we have melee friday weeklies again.

I mean come on, WE ALL KNOW WHICH GAME IS BETTER AND MORE FUN.

for this to happen though im gonna need confirmed coming list of about 20. at the next weekly ill be walking around asking people if they would come when i get enough people ill go to the web2zone people and try and make my case.

There are no real "cybercafe's" in the city besides web2zone.


Your best bet is convincing some hinky dink comic shop with tvs to do it...even then they will charge by the hour.

If you want just throw fests at hunter, FiT or some college you know people are at to save yourselves the trouble.

i would like to go back to melee but im just gonna say this the game just came out and i know everyone is trying to find out glitches and stuff so if we just give up on it after the first month then we might miss out on this game that could be great (this game sucks but like we cant give up on it)

I'm very very very very very rusty at melee, lol. If somebody is willing to help me get back to my previous skill level before brawl came out, then I might play melee again in tournaments. Just have to stop air-dodging for no reason constantly, lol.

LMAO i was doing the same thing til i played with tier for like 2 hours. just play the game for an extended period of time with someone and you'll start to get it back.

at first they may not be tourneys since people are rusty and stuff so at first they might be smashfests so everyone can get back to speed.

Really, I love both games straight down the wire. For Melee, it's to see the fights and play with my friends. For Brawl, its to get a fresh start and to play with friends.

I'm up for both games, really. Also, keep in mind that the game came out a month ago. It should be given time to breath.

I know for a fact, dj nintendo, hax, jman, and alukard would suppor this. Also if the were on Saturdays i'd support them the days theres no tourneys in philly/NJ ( which is a lot nowadays) . I could bring some interested NJ or philly people with me too. So find a venue with nice parking. ^^

naw the end plan is to phase out brawl all together. if it were to stay they our tourney attendance would just be hurt because people wouldnt have money for the next day everytime.

taka im sure once you combo again you'll start to wander away from brawl. also when you arent being really gayly chased by metaknight.

i understand this. BTW Bum i intend to have these melee tourneys highly enjoyable and even have power rankings, consistent results and even matches recorded. These tourneys will start to garner attention and from that i plan to get people who are into brawl to just go back to melee.

i know why people like brawl. but after they see how much better melee is they wont stay there. the small amount of people who play for money will stop earning as much because of the attendence slowly slipping away and so they will eventually have no choice but to come back to melee.

So what happened anyway Luck? You kinda suddenly stopped like Brawl for some reason. If you don't mind me asking.

Anyway I think people already know how much 'better' melee is vs. brawl. I don't think anyone is trying to prove anything in that respect. But you're hoping to diminish the population that plays brawl vs. plays melee. You know why the weekly gets a lot of people now right? Brawl. The amount of people who go to these events now go to specifically play brawl, so even if you try to 'steal' a good amount of the brawl people to go play melee it will be maybe about the same as the old weekly's with 15-20 ppl on a good day. It's not a bad thing, but you do realize that a lot of the old smashers who used to play melee, stopped then started to come around again for brawl.

I mean I don't know a lot, but that's just a friendly observation. And as I wrote above I don't like the idea of 'phasing it out' cause I enjoy both. And I also don't know why you gotta make these something we have to choose either, like GO MELEE OR GO BRAWL. Well whatever, in the end I'd rather play both games I mean I sat for a good while playing Melee with Vanz last weekly and I didn't want to stop. But yeah, that's my two cents.
