Um, I got 13th/75 at Lone Star Circuit Championship yesterday.
Looking back on it, it's not a bad placing at all... especially when considering how stacked the tournament was (there were about 35 top level players in tournament) but I don't feel accomplished as a player. I've been practicing out the *** for this thing and it sorta upset me on how I was knocked out. My goal was top 7, and I would be satisfied with 9th.
I played really well overall, but in tournament.. really really gay stuff happened to me.
I lost to Havok and Denti.
Against Havok, I was hoping he would go Snake or Marth... but ya know how we do in Super Smash Brothers Brawl, a free win is a free win... he went Metaknight.
Uh, game one was pretty close at first. I was playing super well and literally reading tons of his approaches and throwing him off guard. I charged a fully charged up smash and read his tornado, but when I released it didn't break through... like I didn't have invincibility, idk it was dumb. After that the tornado threw me up and of course I'm offstage, I try to make it back and I get hit by the weirdest part of shuttle loop ever and just go directly to the bottom right corner of the stage super pat g di.
After that, my momentum was over. I counterpicked him to Battlefield like an idiot. I'm never doing that again. Didn't really matter if I won game two though, cause I would just lose game 3 without a doubt on Rainbow or Brinstar.
I also lost to Denti's Olimar.. which was pretty upsetting. Game one was last hit last stock and he just upsmashed me. Game two I won on Rainbow Cruise. On game three, I was getting three stocked on Delfino.. but then I brought it back with some crazy combos and reads. We're both sitting at our last stock, he's at 40% and I'm at 70% and I pull a turnip only to realize the turnip is actually a bomb and there is a red pikmin on me. I blow up immediately... like, you couldn't even tell what I pulled.. I didn't even have the human reaction time to throw it. When I pressed Down-B it was like initiating a detonator on my body.
Really upsetting way to be kicked out of a tournament, tbh.
If I would have beaten Denti, I would proceed to play Trela... and that would be very interesting considering how many times I've lost to him.. but I feel like I've improved drastically as an overall player since then.
Oh Raz, I played Falln. It was really fun and interesting. His Kirby is without a doubt the best and smartest I've ever played. I think I beat him five or six times while he beat me two or three, but they were just friendlies. He's super chill, really nice guy.
Played a friendly set with Espy and lost 1-2. All of our games went to last hit last stock except for game two where I two stocked him. I absolutely LOVE playing Espy and he's a really intelligent and modest player. I wish those could have been recorded, they may have been.. but I'm not entirely sure.
I played mikeHaze in friendlies too and I took like two games off of him surprisingly. I'm not sure whether I lost three or four matches, but they were really intense/fun matches and I think I learned the gist of the Marth matchup now. Too bad we couldn't save any of them.
I feel like, although the matches I played with most of these top level players were just friendlies, it sort of shows that I think I'm getting closer and closer to contending with top level players and actually posing as a national threat in tournament... As long as it's not a Metaknight. Brawl is getting extremely frustrating, but I hope that will ease up after January 9th or whatever.
I can't wait until

is banned.
I lose to him in every tournament, after Apex..it will be different.
