Daisuke says the next Guilty Gear souldn't be easier.

Of course it means nothing until it happens, but that will probably calm some people down for a while. :3
New interview from Daisuke about Guilty Gear. I liked this part of the interview:

Here's the link to the full interview. http://www.siliconera.com/2011/05/06/all-about-guilty-gear-with-creator-daisuke-ishiwatari/
Um...

But yeah, sounds cool.

I've heard GG has a 3 frame buffer KumaOso, but I'm not sure on that. Some people won't like it though, I see BB's buffer get some hate.

No, that's okay. It doesn't bother me at all really. :3

I want more GG discussion anyways, since that's all I've been playing lately.

I actually did mess around in GG today for a few minutes or so. I probably won't try to spend a lot of time on it for a while with the CS2 patch just around the corner. I kind of want to focus on just one game for once and see how far I can get with it.

So...the Ragna/Makoto/Rachel people didn't wind up showing up to the tourney today. Instead, I wound up playing games with Tager/Mu/Hazama/Hakumen/Jin/Noel(wtf)/Valkenhayn players. I actually did pretty well in pools and pulled off some combos and stuff, but by the time brackets came around I was a bit worn out (we had everyone in one giant round robin pool to determine seeding). Hell, I was forgetting combos a bit and wound up losing when I had another Noel down to where I just had to jab her to win, and had both my bursts and 100 meter. It was tied 1-1 in the series and I was up 1-0 in the set, and I decided I'd be fancy and try to get him in position for an Astral. Needless to say, he brought it back, won the round, and I got all shaken and thinking "wtf just happened?" from that, that he won the third round and moved on. Ugh, that Astral's going to haunt me for a while, but...ultimately I've got nobody to blame but myself. Oh, and learned using the first set to gauge the opponent by using my secondary is NOT a good idea.

Any Taokaka players that can help me with a little problem I'm having with this combo?

This is the combo: 3c (3 hits), 5d~6, j.c, 6d~6, j.c, 6d~6, 236b x5

I can do it all fine but when it gets to the 236b I can only ever get 2 hits in before my opponent can tech. Is there anyone here that would know why? :S

Heh I'll just grind it out some more then. You don't think it would have anything to do with the 6d~6 timing before it? I was thinking maybe there's a special way of doing inputting 6d~6 to 236b that I was unaware of.

Another question. Is Tao decent in CS2 from what people have seen thus far?

Rutger plays Tao. He might be able to answer your combo questions. Tao is always good. Her damage got nerfed a bit, but from what I've heard, she's most likely A tier.

So, I've been messing around with Makoto. Why is she so fun?

I never use that combo. I got it to work on Tager easily enough but not Ragna(I didn't test anyone else) but I was able to make this.

3C (3 hits), 5D~6, j.C, 6D~6, j.C, 7D~7, 3D~3, 236B x5

That gives about 3600 damage, more than the combo you posted. You have to delay a bit after the second j.C and be careful not to jump before the 7D.

You have an army of Noels and Hazamas.
+1 to the Makoto army. I plan on maining her again when I pick up CS(2). Of all the characters I disliked (playstyle-wise), I always disliked her style the least. Definitely more in tune with what I usually play in fighting games (rushdown/footsies).

Not to say I won't try out the other (hopefully revamped) characters, but I'm definitely going to put in a lot of time and effort into her again.

Dustloop people are saying Tuesday is the day we get it since we get patches the same day Japan does.

Let's hope!

Why is Makoto fun? Your whole strategy revolves around punching people in the face. Even if you don't like the strategy it's satisfying to pull off, EVERY TIME.

Also, Makoto is certainly rushdown but I wouldn't put her in the footsies category. Especially not in CS1.

Underboob, though. Let's see Cammy do that!

I'll try this!

The combo I posted I was also trying to do on Ragna and it just wouldn't work heh.

Definitely footsies, man. Her movement is better than many though obviously not as good as Bang, Tao, Hazama... Tager.

Why you bring up Cammy? How you know she's my other favorite character of all time?

I agree, Makoto is def footsies.

So, I learned a whole bunch of Makoto combos. But I can't actually play the character.

Oh, well. Noel 4 lyfe, anyway. :3c

I still haven't seen very many rachel mains in cs2 although she's apparently really good again.

There's a couple. But she's hard, so you know. Have you seen her BnB? It's ridiculous.

It looks like almost everyone has dropped Arakune though. :I

lvl 2 top combos?
Yeah, those are in cs1 too, and they are hard. I can do them, but not consistently ... especially not online.

I'm fine with nobody playing arakune. :bee:

So I remembered that I never got any of the MvC3 patches, I just turned it on and it was updated. I guess we shouldn't need to worry about PSN being down for the CS2 patch.
That might be old news though.

But we won't be able to get Platinum right away, that sucks. :/

Heard that patch is not the real title update for the game, but rather a patch that fixes a couple of glitches. Read that on Dustloop

PSN may not be fully operational by May 31st.

What bull****.
Yeah.. I said that too... I really wanted to play this game online again since this might be the last time CS1 will be played since CS2 is right around the corner.

Alright, how about this then. Will we be required to do the patch/update to play online? Anybody know? If not, I say when the PSN DOES go online finally, we still do the CS1 party to send it off before we make the shift.
