Guys, we can patch without PSN, you know. We just can't get Plat. We can patch and roll our faces across training mode until PSN comes back up.

Oh, and local versus. *Drives to Lythium's house*

Alright, how about this then. Will we be required to do the patch/update to play online? Anybody know? If not, I say when the PSN DOES go online finally, we still do the CS1 party to send it off before we make the shift.
The update will be mandatory, but like always you can change which version of BBCS you want to play.
If CS2 is out before PSN is operational, I don't think I really want to go back to CS tbh. lol

Wait, so you can essentially switch back to the first Continuum Shift if you wanted to? Not that I'll want to play that after the new one comes out, but still. /repeats self lol

Send-off and all, even if it's out by the time PSN is back up. If not though, that's cool. Could be a celebratory "welcome to CS2 and PSN being back" party too.

That's my plan, yo.

PS - I'll probably have something around the 21st, because the Marvel/SF tournament is stealing our biweekly time. Maybe before that though, I'll talk it up with Simon.

Platinum trailer.

Not enough sparkles imo. :3

PSN being down means no trolling with the magical girl though, guess I'll just have to practice the characters I actually play.

I didn't know that, actually. For some reason I thought it was coming out on Thursday.

Looks like I'm gonna have to kick off my roommate playing Dragon Age 2 and check it out.

At first, I didn't like it too much, but it's starting to grow on me. People can't just mash buttons anymore because they implemented dash canceling into just about everyone's metagame. Even Hazama has to dash cancel for most of his combos to work.

Never thought I'd see that happening.

I think the only character who doesn't need dash canceling to combo is Tager- and that's because he just plays paddleball with opponent's faces all day.

Time to experiment on Xbox, even if I have to play pad, and don't play that system 99% of the time! xD

I downloaded the patch and tried Platinum. I like her, but I seem to get Sena more than Luna.

I got a final in three hours so I'll look more into this after it, assuming I'm not crying.

Well, I love the new Hazama, but I can't play on a pad, so no point in banging my head against these combos in frustration. PS3 needs to patch soon. xD

Blaaaaaah, double Jayoku only does 3k now. T-T Stupid repeat proration.

What is the dash canceling you speak of? Is it exclusive to some characters?

And my God, Platinum runs super fast.

EDIT: I'm so sad we don't get the CS2 opening or Shinsou for the Astral music.

Dash cancelling is when you dash and cancel it with another move. It's required for some characters combos.

Also, this game is going to feel faster in all regards. Just so you know.

Considering I didn't play CS for the last few months or so and have been playing MvC3, this game doesn't feel fast at all, lol.

Update me to only Platinum on the front page. Unless you can make that Makoto head smaller.

Wait, I thought dash canceling is canceling an attack with a dash, like jump canceling.

Yeah, you're right, though I'm not sure what Lythium's definition could be called since it would totally be called the same thing if the name weren't already taken.

btw, Crusayer, you're Makoto wall carry combo is much better in CSII than CSI because:
A: Makoto's 623C~(whiff)D has less lag, making it more forgiving
B: Comet Cannon oki sucks now :[

I think I'll delay on the looking up of combos for a day or two because I like to test my knowledge of my mains after patches/future installments.

Maybe it's both? I'll check, to be sure. :I

Scamp, I can put one or both if you want, but I'm not messing around with the sprites, sorry. Though it does indicate "main, then subs" in the first post.

edit: So, I checked, and Rutger was right. A dash cancel is canceling your first action into a dash. Note that while the animations look the same, this isn't canceling into a run; you are only running a set distance and you must wait for the dash to finish before performing any other actions.

But to be fair, with the way move priority works in this game, you can also make it so that moves will come out and cancel the dash. I dunno, whatev.

I think what Lythium meant is, as an example, like how in Noel's combo you can cancel 22BC into 66 and then cancel 66 with 6A. Maybe?

Also, people say makoto 236 oki works the same as before though? However, I haven't seen anyone use 6B to force wake up into 236. Maybe that's what you're saying is bad since 236 is slower now I guess.

I think you might wanna take off litchi for me and put down dat *** and dat loli.

And here's a little easter egg. Platinum's 5A where she pokes out will switch between rock, paper, and scissors hands.

Nope, I'll stick with my characters. I love Tao and Tsubaki looks too fun.

So if two Platinum's are fighting and they both attack with 5A at the same time and they get a Rock and a sissors, will the Platinum with Rock win?
