Mu's DP is my best friend, especially after 5d 2d. the stein lasers usually keep me safe even if they block it.

I'm sad that charged steins don't break primers anymore, though. :( I have so much fun against people online who don't watch their primers.

Me too.

Though strangely enough, I get more guard crushes with Noel than Mu.

Though I broke a Tager the other day, and I was like :awesome:.

Another random question. Is there a reason why I shouldn't IB?

I like those combos~
I need to start paying more attention to my stein placement so i can work them into combos regularly.

Most Yata combos work the steins in that you need anyway.

For example: 3C > 2B > 5C > 6C > 6D > 632146D > dash > 5C > 2C > j.C > j.2C. Just off the top of my head.

Oops, my bad.

I usually play with the Japanese languages, so I refer to them by their Japanese names. The English names for her specials are so long. :I

[collapse=But in case you were interested...]236A: Arrows of Heaven (Ame no Habaya)
236D: Divine Wrath of Punishment (Ame no Totsuka)
214D: Divine Wrath of the Heavens (Ame no Habagiri)
623D: Origins (Tsunugai)
63214C: Sword of Decimation (Furu no Tsurugi)
632146C: Wisdom of the Divines (Omohikane)
632146D: Blessed Mirror (Yata no Kagami)
222D: Sword of the Godslayer (Kami Goroshina Tsurugi)[/collapse]

Actually, you know what? I take it back. They're all too long, English or Japanese. :c

I'm having some trouble understanding how some of these combos work for makoto :x

2A > 5B > 5C > 6C > 214B~A > j.B > jc delay j.B > delay j.623C~D (whiff) > 5B > 6A > jc j.B > jc j.B > j.623C~D

I have no idea how that jc is supposed to hit. Is it supposed to whiff? Am I supposed to djc the first jb? I've seen the combo off a video but I'm still having trouble how to delay the attacks to whiff the j623C~D.

and

5B > 5CC > 6B~C > 5D > 2D > j.D > 214B~C > 214C~D > 236A~D

How does 214B~C work when j.D makes them slide on the floor? Is it supposed to be 214B~CC or D?

I figure I probably shouldn't fret too much about these with the patch coming so soon but I'm sure the corner carry combo works in CS2.

I think the second one only works in the corner or very close to it. That's usually the way Makoto's drive combos work.

As for the first one, I'm pretty sure "jc" notation is jump cancel. That's kinda what it looks like to me anyway. Otherwise, it would probably be written as j.C, if it were her jumping C attack.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.

Oh, jump cancel `-`. Makes a lot more sense now. hahaha

2nd one is still iffy. I know it's supposed to be in the corner but I can't wrap my head around how the hitstun from a j.C would let makoto do a 214C~D (or how the 214B~C is supposed to hit anyway with them lying on the ground)

There's not a j.C in the second combo; did you mean j.D?

:054:

If that's the case, her drive moves have massive amounts of hitstun, so you should be able to combo it. I'm not 100% sure how Makoto's 214 series follow-ups work, so don't quote me on that. Where's a Makoto main when you need them?

I'll edit this soon, but this question needs to be asked NOW: Lythium, do you play League of Legends? I played a game with someone named Lythyum.

EDIT:

I'm having some trouble understanding how some of these combos work for makoto :x

2A > 5B > 5C > 6C > 214B~A > j.B > jc delay j.B > delay j.623C~D (whiff) > 5B > 6A > jc j.B > jc j.B > j.623C~D

and

5B > 5CC > 6B~C > 5D > 2D > j.D > 214B~C > 214C~D > 236A~D

How does 214B~C work when j.D makes them slide on the floor? Is it supposed to be 214B~CC or D?

I don't like any of this D:

2A > 5B > 5C > 6C > 214B~A > j.B > jc delay j.B > delay j.623C~D (whiff) > 5B > 6A > jc j.B > jc j.B > j.623C~D
First off, 214B~A makes no sense because you don't cancel 214B/C into anything and if it's trying to say j.A then that's terrible and should be omitted unless it's needed. The rest sounds plausible, but I just don't like it. I usually stick to plain and simple (with respect to same starter and hitconfirm as above):

2A > 5B > 5C~C > 6B~C > 214A~C~B. It's treated me fine for my matches and it's not tight at all so you won't ever choke.

On Hakumen and Tager, you can change the ender into 214A~C~A > 2A > 5B > 2D(lvl1) for midscreen.

On Hakumen and Tager in corner, you can, instead, do 214~A~C~D > 66 > 2C > 2D > j.D > 66 > *6A > j.CB, jc, j.CB > j.623C~D

*I prefer doing 6B > 236A after the j.D for pressure since the air combo damage is negligible and this gives better oki.

Sometimes I like to follow up 5C~C with 236A for non-knockdown mixups and pressure.

5B > 5CC > 6B~C > 5D > 2D > j.D > 214B~C > 214C~D > 236A~D
This not optimal damage in the corner, granted the follow-up is implied, but I'm interpreting it literally as posted so that I can feel smart and special. 214B~C is a typo, it's supposed to be 214B~D..

My favorite corner bnb is (with respect to starter for above combo):

5B > 5CC > 6B~C > 5D > 66 > 2C > 2D > j.D > 214B~D > 214C~D > *236A~D > **6A > ***j.CB, sjc, j.CB > j.623C~D.

*Note that you must do (lvl2) in order to continue comboing Lambda and Carl, otherwise they bounce way off the wall and tech extra early with you in the corner.
**You can replace the 6A combo follow-up for 632146D for an extra 1500 damage. The reason why you shouldn't do 6A > 632146D is because your fist part of the super will miss, doing a measly 800 damage.
***Unless you intend on doing another super to kill them. In which case, omit the air combo for 6A > 632146D > 632146D.

My fav midscreen meter combo is:

*5B > 5CC > 5D (lvl2) > rapid > 2C > 2D > 66 > 236A~D > 214B~D > 66 > 236A~D > 214C~D > 66 > 236A~D > j.D > 66 > 2C > 214B > delay > j.B > **land > 632146D.

*Can also be initiated off 6B~C, but NOT 5B > 5CC > 6B~C. Also, you can go straight to the 2C > (the rest) meterless, if you started with 3C.
**if you don't want to use another 50 heat (the combo already makes up for the rapid though), then just jc > j.B > j.623C~D. You can't do j.C or because they'll tech before it hits and they tech immediately after (land) > 6A.

Off of either throw, I like to do:

*214A~C~D > 2D > 66 > 5CC > **sjc > j.CB, jc, j.CB > j.623C~D.

*Delay the ~C as much as possible so they are close to ground when youo do ~D. This prevents them from teching before the ~D or from going the opposite direction when you 2D. Wait a little after backthrowing Lambda and Carl before doing 214A, otherwise you'll accidentally get 236A for some reason.
**normal jump cancel on Hazama only (the paperweight)

Now, in the corner, it gets throw-specific:

Fthrow > 214A~C~D > 5D > 66 > 2C > 2D > j.D > 214B~D > 214C~D > 236A~D > > 6A > sjc > j.CB > j.CB > j.623C~D.

Bthrow > 214A~C~D > 5D > 66 > 2C > 2D > j.D > *6A > j.CB > j.B > j.623C~D.

*or 6B > 236A for oki.

Something to remember: Air combo damage is NOT negligible if 214B~D > 214C~D is in the combo.
Fun fact: j.CB > j.CB is not only more consistent, but also stronger than j.BC > j.BC and j.CC > j.CC.

I just thought they made moves faster in general.

No but I signed up to play Blazblue at Evo in the hopes that it will be released before AE and therefore will probably be at Evo.

The hopes.

Evo has already updated their site on the registration page that it'll be BBCS2.
So unless something goes terribly wrong, we won't have to deal with regular CS at Evo.

They decreased hitstop, so it makes the game much faster overall.

I'm still hyped for the CS2 patch!

Had there been any more news on a specific day?

:phone:
In Japan, May 10th (360) and May 12th (PS3). And I believe it's being released in the US on 3DS and PSP (officially, anyway), as of May 24th. So maybe somewhere in between?

I did, hun. Then I got rid of it for Marvel. THEN I had to give the PS3 that was all but given to me back to a friend of mine because he needed to sell it for quick cash (he a baby daddy now). Now that I have enough money, I'm gonna go and purchase my own PS3 (which is what I did the first time around, but...). Hopefully I won't have to sell this one to pay bills at some point. Thankfully, my financial situation is A LOT better so I don't ever foresee that happening.

Buying a PS3 right in the middle of all this shenanigans?

This sound like a situation where rental systems would be cool. Somebody should start that business up...

It's called "Blockbuster" and it is failing fast.

And it's not like the PSN is going to stay down forever. Why settle for a console I don't like (360, Wii)?

Blockbuster rents systems?

I wouldn't know. Haven't been there in years (probably why it's failing).
