well i lost my baseball game today 6-5 we had a guy on 3rd base and was gunna score our batter hit the ball and tripped while running to first it was funny yet sad
Did you scream "SAKURAIIII"?

And Knux, if you're having that much of a problem with techskill, just do what I do - play Peach. Her wavedash sucks so you don't really need to learn it, ground floating and float canceling make her aerials easy to do, and aside from getting totally ***** by Marth she has a lot of very good matchups. I'm not saying Peach takes no skill to play because you need to have the mindgames down for sure to do well with her (especially with everyone playing Fox and Marth), but she does have less of a techskill learning curve than other characters.

I got some bad news gaizzz.

Chances are that I will very likely not be going to the Flint tourney tomorrow unless I can get a ride. I'm sorry this is last minute, but if anyone can give me a ride, please let me know. I live in Birmingham. PM me for my phone number or if I don't respond by 10 am tomorrow ask Vayseth for it.

Crew battles don't matter, especially when you know you're gonna get *****.
Tourney is different, because there are official rankings.
I would beg to differ. Crew battles are about teaching you how to adjust VERY quickly, as well as teaching you that every single stock counts. Not to mention it's fun to work alongside your fellow smashers and friends to win. ^_^

Tournaments can be 'official,' but look at some of the past big tournaments. Sometimes, how well a crew does and how badly it beats other teams can hint at the skill levels of entire regions, let alone states. While it isn't AS important for the individual, it's usable to see where a certain area/region stands against another. It's also about having fun, so stop taking things so serious, please? This is a game, after all.

But that can equivalently be taught in friendlies.

Once again, I have just as much fun doing friendlies with the same people, probably more, I see a lot of trash talking in crew battles.
With my already low (melee) confidence construction, I don't need a bunch of people I just met, reiterating how much I suck. That's not fun, at least not to me.

My post wasn't telling you it was better. It was telling you there is a purpose to crew battles. And while it may be 'taught' in friendlies, crew battles give you a lot more. The stress of it can be big because it isn't just you, so it also gives you exposure to really key times, like... both of you being at high damage, and whoever lands the next hit wins? Or you have to come back from a two, sometimes three stock difference? Crews can expose you to those feelings so you don't crumble when it comes time to your own matches.

Friendlies are just that. Friendly. They only teach the basics of a character matchup, and that's pretty much it. I view them as times to experiment and try things out a lot more than I do with crews or with tournaments. Though if you're worried about the trash talking, not everyone does that. And then again, there are people that do that in tournament matches and friendlies. Believe me, it's happened to me before.

You are entitled to your opinion, though. Just don't knock others' until you try it.

yall know what an amazing game is

street fighter iv

we shuld start a crew
That game has a tech system worse than Brawl.

NO tech rolls, or even simple rolling get ups, you're forced to get up right where you fell, no attack get up either, so many characters can throw/shouryuken loop you and all they have to do is get you on the ground.
If they had some other form of getting up other than just--getting up, the game wouldn't suck so bad.

What the hell is this throw/shoryuken loop? Sounds like a low-level gimmick. Especially since I'm pretty sure people can just wakeup reversal shoryuken you if you go for that stupidity.

Wakeup punish is about the meaty fireballs.

Let's say I pick Zangief, you pick--whoever, it doesn't matter.
I knock you down, you are unable to techroll, you can tech by tapping buttons, but it won't help, the second you get up, I do Zangief's basic special grab.

You can't tech those, you fall down again, repeat until I win.

Trust me when I say no move can get out of that, which wouldn't be a problem if you could ****ing techroll.

How about REVERSAL SHORYUKEN? You know, the attack that has doesn't care on startup and can be performed on wakeup with no gap? If Zangief could actually do that to death with no possibility of response then he'd be up in god tier with Sagat.

Oh you exaggerate, he wouldn't be god tier, namely because Sagat's projectile spam and Tiger Claws ***** everyone, that'll bring him down, however if Zangief can get to him and knock him down, it's over.

Third ranking says enough.

So he ***** low tiers, has a bunch of even/slight advantage matchups, and has trouble with Sagat, Ryu, and Akuma, all three of who can reversal uppercut. Indeed, it tells me a lot.

Yeah, I'm not seeing your magical auto-win technique being used at all.

You know why? Because it's not a technique, it's a mixup.
