Doesn't that actually decrease the odds of convincing someone? The more he says it and doesn't show the less likely he'll convince someone in the future. What he needs to do is find the new guys and tell that to them, so they just doesn't even know.

You need to reverse the reverse psychology.

Or show up to a tourney, but not enter and socialize for a little bit so it's as if you didn't show up.

So I want to host a Brawl regional at U of M. I want to reserve a room or rooms that are large enough to hold such a turnout. So:

Robin - I need some estimates on reserving enough space for a turnout that large.

Everyone else - Let me know about upcoming breaks in school, and when your finals are.

People who have TOed - I'll need a team of people for this.

Oh I forgot to ask: What's the status with the Big House 2? Is it only Melee or both? And Robin lemme know about upcoming dates you want to reserve for yourself. Thanks.

EDIT: Just saw the last page. Okay, then that means I have to do this. MI Brawl needs a regional.

Perhaps it's because I don't post anything really constructive. I'm sorry, I guess I'll try to post better. Here's hoping, sorry if this is considered spam =/ Still trying. That certainly is not Hot Arms, Scotu.

I've been trying to find myself a new main. My personality and playing style don't really fit any one character in this game. I've looked at a few 'how to pick your main' threads but none were really helpful. As soon as I pick a character, I immediately hate playing said character and wish I was a different character. Is there something I'm not thinking of to help determine a main? I can never really accept my character's weaknesses and strengths.

Half of my signature is posted :] Halfway there. I feel like I need to make super big post for my signature to show >_<; It looks like it's gonna be a one time thing, gg. My skill level to time played ratio is super low and I don't think I'm cut out for the game. I feel like there should be at least one character I can balance strengths and weaknesses and fit my play style in.

Anyone watching the Superbowl on Sunday? At the bar, a friend of mine got riled up and said if the Giants win he'll buy me a steak, with no repercussions if the Patriots win. That's gonna be pretty sweet eh? Go Giants.

I recommend the Michigan Room at the Michigan League... it's 1700 square feet, spacious enough for a 100-person tournament as evident by The Big House, which was fairly crowded but not unbearable:

You can check yourself if the room has been reserved for any future days... for tourney purposes, obviously you'd need the Michigan Room to be available for the entire day that you're looking at:

The only upcoming weekends that I'm sure about hosting a Melee tourney are 2/25, 3/17, and 4/7, all for the SWEET series. No plans after that yet, except a tentative October date for The Big House 2.

Hi I'm Sarix. I'm new to the site even though I've referenced it to improve my play style for about year now. I was going to go to the Phoenix tourney but I can't get off work the night before, otherwise I've been busy with GDC preparations so I probably won't be able to get to a tourney before March. Nice to meet you guys. :)

yooo, just come to Phoenix the morning of the tourney. I think other Grand Rapids area people are coming. =o

If not, it's cool. But yeah, definitely come out when you can. We can always use more people in the MI community. :reverse:
