I'll be home in half an hour, I'm down to smash or go somewhere to smash (and get smashed). Some one should do something for Brawl. I've been bored these past days and will drive out to something.
I'd host but I know people won't come to EL.
Though if people will smash at EL.
Yeah, I cut down the stage list to nine (of which all should be acceptable in pretty much the entire country) to deal with memory and time issues, as well as what WTP mentioned for taking time on deciding bans - since you're striking from a list of what some people would even consider all starters, it shouldn't be too difficult a process, since you'd simply get rid of the stages you hate the most, rather than having to worry about some surprise counter to Port Town or something. It actually somewhat goes against my philosophy of keeping as many stages as possible, but with a nine-stage list variety is preserved while still keeping everything relevant to the nation as a whole anyway. Not bad, but the stage selection system wouldn't work. We tried the "strike down from the full list" for a good while, and people just didn't take to it. Too hard for most people to remember all the stages, eliminated wildcard counterpicks (a last ditch effort for some people), and became too tedious to continually turn on all the stages and turn them off again.
Not much for me to post on smashboards since no one else comes here >_>its actually fine. MI melee doesn't really read this thread. In fact MI melee doesnt really smashboards...
Okay, really? I know I'm in a minority when I say this(Sparta Kick and Oblivion may share my problems), but I'm looking at 2 1/2 - 4 1/2 hours of driving time both ways when it comes to the idea of a tournament. Add four dollars to the gallon and I heartily laugh at your attempt to call gas 'not the real reason'. It costs me $70 just in gas to make it to and from, and that's without tournament fees and food. And I get 30 mph. Most cars available outside of my own get nearer ~20 mph, which is literally $100 on gas before tournament fees and food. Maybe before even lodging, depending on the trip/tournament.Also, I know I'm rich but it is not expensive to go to a tournament once a month. Blaming money is just using it as an excuse when you don't want to go for other reasons. Meaning you are spending money on other activities you find more fun than Smash, which is the actual problem.
You don't win with that attitude, honey.Either way, it's still a crazy expensive hobby to have when you barely enjoy the main game and, as history has shown, you don't win unless you main MK/IC's/are a wizard.
Yes. You're budgeting. Food is easy to cut.If I'm coming out that way, do you really thing we're just gonna eat some chips and a McDouble?
The actual issue. You don't enjoy Brawl. You don't want to shell out $40 for a day of Brawl. If every tournament came with a (side) tournament of Project M, would $40 seem to be nearly as much? Can't be SK, I play main Mario and second Fox. No bank will be made from me, but if I can get in some Project M, or if WuVs happens to be around, some Brawl+, I'll be quite happy.

Solution: become a wizardEither way, it's still a crazy expensive hobby to have when you barely enjoy the main game and, as history has shown, you don't win unless you main MK/IC's/are a wizard.
Generally people dont leave till 2 anyways. I wouldn't mind going later XD.Ori, make the SF last until the later AMs.
Half-true. I enjoy Brawl, but not nearly so much the tournament scene. No offense to anyone here, but I like picking up my favorite character and fighting with them, but when they aren't, in any way, tournament viable, there's so little incentive to use them. The actual issue. I can accept this, but more like Project M is Arby's or China Buffet, and Brawl+ is BDubs. But this is just making me hungry. With your example, a Brawl tournament is staying home with PB&J, and a Project M/Brawl+ tournament is BDubs.
his up b is pretty badAy yo while we're on the topic of things....ban Falco in melee, he has no bad attacks.
MTI, where were you when Junebug came to my tournament? lol You could have met one of your brethren lolPlus it gives him RCO lag, just jab him and force him to land, then pick Smash of your choice. Wait we're talking about Brawlelawl, right? Oh wait, Melee, disregard.
Also WTP is a brony too? ...yay...
Also, hi.

You do if you main MK.You don't win with that attitude, honey.
