Okay. SO I got the code to work. The only thing I'm having trouble with is one of Zelda's textures only loading after I transform into Sheik and back. And Jigglypuff's Cpt. Falcon texture(stacksmash) freezing my wii whenever I try to use it. Do I have to have that texture assigned to a specific color of hers? Same for Pika?

Do you have the .pac for it?
I can't help you with your other questions, so sorry. =x

sometimes (i don't know why) you need yo wait till the system stops making noise to go to the stage select screen. it happened with my friend's wii when we first tried textures.

Yeah, I have the .pac for it as well as the .pcs. The texture works, but it never loads at the start of the battle. Hence why I have to transform in order to get it to show up.

Do I have this right?

I downloaded some CSP .tga files. I also downloaded CUPASH in order to use them.

I placed the included common5_en.pac into neededfiles. I ran step 1.

Next, I copy/pasted common5_en.pac into newfiles. Then I placed the .tga files into newfiles.

Finally, I ran step 2. Problem is, there were no files in the created info/portrite and menu/common/char_bust_tex folders.

What was I supposed to do? Help is appreciated.

Also, where do I put NTCompress and Texconv? In the same folder as CUPASH?

How do I turn TGA files into a CSP?

I honestly don't know what a TGA is...
TarGA images (.tga) are just another type of image, but those images use the Alpha Channel to show transparent areas when you're using Photoshop CS3 or CS4.

Anyway, you need to use CUPASH in order to make the custom portraits work. Big portraits are stored in the file, common5.pac, while the small portraits are stored in a series of files called, InfFace###.brres.

I'm having an issue with using CSP .tga files I downloaded.

I DL'ed a common5_en.pac and put that in the CUPASH "neededfiles" folder. I put NTCompress and Texconv in the folder with "neededfiles," "newfiles," etc.

My "neededfiles" had nothing in it except the common5 when I ran Step 1. All it did was put "usamode" and "usamode.BIN.out" in the neededfiles folder. I have no idea what those are, and they aren't mentioned in the tutorial.

Was the common5 faulty? Was I supposed to run NTCompress or Texconv? I've looked through a few tutorials and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong/missing.

EDIT- I downloaded a new common5, and again Step 1 seemed to freeze. But then, it proceeded as it was supposed to. *Shrug* I guess it was the common5.

Umm.... you don't wanna **** with intermediate steps of a program, those are intermediate files that arew delete but are required for the final step. By screwing with them, you made the program crash.

And for adding codes to code manager, just make a .txt file and paste codes at the end.

It should go in the following format:

Name of the code
[Bunch of numbers for code]
Description

The beginning and only the beginning should have a special header like this:

RSBE01
Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Thats essentially it, obviously, alter the beginning for the region.

Could you direct me to a guide or FAQ on CUPASH? I have it already I just don't know how to use the applications that were included in the zip file. I already have textures and the tga files I just don't know how to use them as a csp.

I'm an idiot, I still don't get this at all.
Make a .txt file.

Call it whatever. Inside, paste the following:

RSBE01
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
After that, start pasting in your codes. Each should have the following format:

[Name]
Code:
[Description]

IE, for example, the File Replacement 2.1a code is:

[QUOTE]File Replacment: v2.1a[Phantom Wings]
225664EC 00000000

Don't infract me for a double post, kinda necessary:

You need to run Step 1 first, then, you should get a bunch of templates. Large files are 128x160, small are 48x56

If you don't have any files inside neededfiles, however, you won't get anything. You need to download common5.pac and the infFace sets.

Once you do that, put them all in the neededfiles folder or make it (says in the Readme) and run step 1. Now, any file thats in the template can be replaced. Don't actually change the file, because its a template, but have one of the same name in the new files folder and when you run step 2 it will have that file replaced with the new files one, of course, without all the magenta in the background.

The background compression color for clear is 255 Red, 0 Green, 255 Blue or Magenta. Index large generally to 72 colors, small to 32

I have a question. Could someone tell me/link to me the list of codes I'd use if I wanted to have both the texture hacks and Brawl+?

I have the .gct for Brawl+ already, but it came as just that, a .gct, therefore if I wanted to use the textures, it wold override the Brawl+ .gct when saved. I know some people have both, seeing as their are videos.

So yeah, would someone please link to me both the sets of codes. The most recent Brawl+ and the texture hacks? I'll get the textures specifically later.

For a G&W texture, do I put it in private\wii\APP\RSBE\pf\fighter\gamewatch and name it FitGamewatch00.pac?

Is it also true that you can only have one G&W texture and it will cover all the other G&W colors?

How so? The just give me a .gct. How am I supposed to edit that when it is just the saved file for the codes, and not actually the codes.

I just decided on what textures I'd like to use, I just need to have the both sets of codes (textures AND Brawl+) together where I can edit them.

More help please?

Hey guys, a quick question: Is there any stage in particular that is considered the best stage to take pictures on if you want to take some pics to make csps and bps? Or will any stage do?

Pictochat from what I hear. Depending on the angle you can get solid black or solid white for the background.

That probably... won't be possible to use unless you modchip your GCN and ISO hack. Unless someone that knows REALLY good hacking to make an AR code to use textures and load them in some way, you won't be seeing this in an easy step-by-step manner. (Especially considering there's no SD Card for the GCN... just memory cards... and those don't load files, just saves in some specific format).

Still cool nonetheless.

You're right, ISO hack will be the only way to use that for a long time probably, until someone find a way to use them another way, just like Brawl.
Anyway, once the ISO is made, since Gamecube backups can now be loaded on Wii, a modchip GCNdoesn't seem necessary :o (but tell me if I'm wrong)

Oh, you're right good point. You COULD use the GCN backup application out there.

But, this is not the place to discuss it. ;)
