For every person sp00ky might have detracted from the community for disliking there being no spam there were probably a few more that became interested because he was the one streaming. I guess it's a win-win.

Don't worry, taking a break for a while to deal with health issues. See you in the summer.I didn't say I don't enjoy them, I just said I liked switching over to an alternative, considering Prog and D1 commentate on just about every major tourney ever now.
No, why should I support someone I dislike? I don't support foolish actions. You're a moron. I said nothing of the sort. I took a neutral standing. Why don't you just become a subscriber if it bothers you that much.
No its actually a lose-lose. If anything he lost more than he gained, that is, if he gained anything. For every person sp00ky might have detracted from the community for disliking there being no spam there were probably a few more that became interested because he was the one streaming. I guess it's a win-win.
Get better soon Prog.Don't worry, taking a break for a while to deal with health issues. See you in the summer.
Yeah pretty much this. I would tune into Clash Tournaments, the thing is, they had the Japanese commentators, I don't understand Japanese, on top of that, I prefer D1 and Prog's commentary. It spices up and hypes up the matches. Not only does the commentary spice the matches up, the chat does too. This is why I'm really upset over how he decided to take the lazy route. He had plenty of mods IIRC, on top of that, he could've modded more people to tackle the spammers. What we can do about this is give Sp00ky a severe warning or remove him from streaming future Melee events. To be honest, VGBC and Clash Tournaments do a majority of Melee streaming, its a huge shame that they weren't the one streaming the grand finals of Melee. The chat is half the reason why twitch.tv got to where it is, its part of the experience
"Let me see some PeoplesChamp faces, press 1 for m2k"
Spooky kept things looking professional for Apex, and took the lazy route because he was tired.
It's akin to a lazy teacher punishing the entire class because one child is misbehaving. It sucks but what can you do?
ps: clashtournaments or nycfurby are poverty streams for future reference
On a totally unrelated note (seeing this thread is mainly means for me to feel good about myself), Red, didn't I see you in the now defunct SSF2 forums? Why does this thread even exist man...
My sincerest apologies. I had to set up a NightBot in my channel on Friday (an automatic mod/helper for Twitch channels) when my viewership was going nuts on Friday and I didn't have enough mods to cover (a bunch of my usual mods were AT apex lmao), and it has certain guidelines for how to timeout, ban, deal with stuff, etc. I had been refining the numbers all weekend trying to get it perfect. I know the yoshi face copypasta you are referring to, and it just tripped the symbol protection I'm sure. If you ever get banned in my stream just shoot me a Twitch message asking to be unbanned and I'll do it as soon as I see it (which is sometimes instant as I usually have my email open while streaming).I thought spooky did a great job, especially with the com cam, that looks hella pro
I thought the names of players should be at the bottom not at the top but that's one tiny tiny complaint
I got permanent banned from CT chat for posting one yoshi text face thing ( and only one!) after aMSa won so screw CT
Spooky > CT
this is absolutely, 100%, the best thing to doI'm sorry it happened, but my NightBot was my alternative to using Sub Mode, which I feel was the better move for my stream. I don't personally like Sub Mode.

I meant the character expansion forum...http://forums.mcleodgaming.com/viewforum.php?f=4
Pretty sure this isn't defunct. I rarely post in the section or let alone, post at all.
But it's interesting to see where people have seen me at. Make me feel special. c:
Oh yeah, those are dead, man.I meant the character expansion forum...
Yeah, don't really remember my name (strange I can remember yours). I was making a Hiei and a Blaziken and Combusken and also Gengar. What ever though, I really stopped liking that place due to the amount of dumb flame wars.Oh yeah, those are dead, man.
Were you on those forums?
Awwwww. Salty stream monster is mad he couldn't spam the chat because based sp00ky didn't want to deal with it. Boo hoo.My friend put that, I thought it was funny so I didn't change it. I didn't think kids would make such a big fuss over a picture.
All it takes is 5-6 seconds to say "Chat please stop spamming." Considering how much D1 and Prog were fooling around and stalling, 5-6 seconds is nothing.
Exactly this is my point. Its like being at a stadium and everyone is cheering, its like telling everyone to stop talking and only Staff and V.I.P members can talk. If someone is making a commotion just escort them out. This was a horrible way to react to the spam.
By taking away the chat he basically made the entire Smash community look like children who can't behave themselves when it was actually him just being lazy. All he had to do was perma-ban spammers, similar to what happened to someone in this chat by Clash Tournaments. When theres thousands of people watching there is bound to be spam.
If he can't handle that I'll never consider him to be a professional stream.
I was watching it in full screen, but when something stupid would happen I would exit full screen just to look at the chat for a good laugh. Sp00ky took all of that away.
I don't see any difference. When I was watching Clash Tournaments Melee it was no different than watching on Sp00ky's stream. Clash Tournaments/VGBC >>>>>> Sp00ky.
Get a life if you have to use your time just to make an account to post a negative message. As for the streaming being easy, look to my previous messages.
Look to my first reply in this post.
no problem man, no harm done, i was only joking about it all anyway, never use the chat regularly so it didn't bother me really . No need for an apologyMy sincerest apologies. I'm sorry it happened, but my NightBot was my alternative to using Sub Mode, which I feel was the better move for my stream. I don't personally like Sub Mode.
All he has to do is get some mods to do his dirty work in the chat. Instead he chooses, as someone said earlier, the lazy route to just turning on sub chat. Sorry but I see Dota 2, League, SC2, etc streams that get over 50k+++ views and they don't turn on sub mode. If Sp00ky wants to represent himself as a professional streamer he needs to start acting like one.@ dj. You don't seem to understand the stress that comes with running a stream of 15k+. And you can't please everyone on a stream chat. People will get mad during the spam because they can't talk. People that spam get mad because it's sub only mode. In most cases it's better to just put the chat in sub only mode so at least some people can chat, at least for a few minutes.
No doubt he did a good job, but he could've done better. By the way, instead of being ignorant and mindlessly posting and calling me a stream monster, go read the rest of the thread instead of acting like the 10 year old you are.He did a great job don't pay attention to this salty stream monster.
Exactly. Instead of taking the chat away from everyone, take it away from the spammers. Any malicious links, any long pasterino messages, etc should be automatically perma-ban or atleast an hour ban.this is absolutely, 100%, the best thing to do
autoban links and super long messages. no mercy for people trashing the chat.
As I said earlier, no doubt he did a good job, but yes, he could've turned on slow mode.Should have been slow mode but spooky quality is sooooo good anyways
Stop acting like the 10 year old you are and actually read the thread. Stop riding Sp00ky.Awwwww. Salty stream monster is mad he couldn't spam the chat because based sp00ky didn't want to deal with it. Boo hoo.
I'm not a brony, and even if I was, why are you saying it like bronies are bad people? Bronies are human beings, respect them like you respect others.Of course a brony would make a topic like this
None of my friends play or have even heard of Super Smash Bros Melee. They probably would rather smoke weed, get drunk, or have sexual intercourse than watch it sadly.this thread is a joke LMAO
get some IRL friends to watch APEX with so you don't have to give a **** about the chat
I'm just saying it would've added to the at-home Apex experience. Like someone/I said earlier, its like being in a crowd and everyones cheering then saying everyone needs to stop talking except V.I.P and Staff. It takes away from the Hype. It really made my "Sp00ky" experience horrible. Don't get me wrong though, the matches were amazing and Sp00ky did an okay job, but it could've easily been better if he didn't simply decide to be lazy and take the chat from everyone. Also, if you did this, then this thread would be about you/both of you.I really don't understand the purpose of this thread. Most people here favored Spooky and how he handled the chat. Really...who cares about the chat? Personally, I would've done the same thing and I am glad Spooky was on the job.
I still liked it, nonetheless. Now I have to see the arguably more degenerate ****-posting from Mcleodgaming forums.Yeah, don't really remember my name (strange I can remember yours). I was making a Hiei and a Blaziken and Combusken and also Gengar. What ever though, I really stopped liking that place due to the amount of dumb flame wars.
