Vergeben states that a bunch of characters, including Phoenix Wright, are out of the running for Fighter 5. He also said that, when attempting to inquire about KOS-MOS, he ended up with a "not sure" answer... despite the fact that he previous said that Bandai Namco is entirely out of the picture!
He attempts to explain this by saying the rights to KOS-MOS are different from other Bandai Namco characters, and that Monolith Soft share partial rights to the character. That may or may not be true... but KOS-MOS has appeared in or been referenced by games that Monolith Soft had nothing to do with, specifically Soulcalibur III (a costume based on her can be unlocked), Tales of Hearts (a Tales Of game where KOS-MOS is a support character), and Tales of Vesperia (a DLC costume for the character Judith).
Not to mention, this was previously stated in a testimony by Arctiq...
... as the witness has stated, if the source of insider information for Vergeben stated that they know exactly who Fighter 5 is, why would they respond with a "not sure"? They would know
for sure whether or not KOS-MOS was Fighter 5! This can only mean one thing...
SOMEONE IS WRONG ON THE INTERNET!
Feel free to ignore this entire spiel if you want. I just saw it as an excuse to "object" to Vergeben's post, Ace Attorney style.
