Lucario Alts:
the minefoo alt was passed in favor of Korrina due to sharing a similar color scheme and mienfoo having little connection to Lucario outside of both being fighting types. Other than that all alts were accepted, and I think it turned out to be a nice selection, especially considering a whopping 0 of Lucario's current alts reference anything.

Unfortunately, this one wasn't as straightforward as Lucario. Pokemon Trainers alts are set up to where after Red and Leaf each additional alt represents a playable character from each generation, ending with an alt based on the female trainer from sun and moon. So Logically the next alts would be the male gen 8 protagonist, and then a female Legends Arceus trainer. However, we're then left with two more slots which have no generation to correspond to. Alts based on sun and moon were submitted, but pokemon trainer already has one based on that, and the Todd Snap alt was passed over due to being a spin off, and not a trainer. However, Alph submitted Red and Leaf's Sygna Suits which reminded me that in Pokemon Masters characters are being updated with "EX" skins, which reflect the colors of the pokemon they use in masters. Red has a Snorlax, and Leaf has an Eevee, so their EX suits are Teal and Brown respectively, which are two unused colors. Colors based on the Sygna Suits could work, but as the EX ones are essentially 1:1 alts they make more sense than a color reference to an alternate outfit, which share colors with the default designs.
Furthermore, the way the trainer's pokemon is set up works to where all of the trainer's pokemon share a color, such as all purple for the gen 7 trainer, all white for the gen 5 alt, and all blue for the gen 6 alt. Most of the alts that were submitted referenced pokemon of many different colors, so only some were preserved. Apologies for not realizing this when the job was posted and mentioning it in the initial post. Most of the pokemon selected we're just arbitrarily selected to match the color theming. Additionally, for Squirtle and Ivysaur mainly only the bulb and shell will change color, with the rest of them just changing tint to match the pokemon they're listed as referencing.
