I'm eager to get my 3DS this Saturday to play Awakening and KI:U.

Have fun with those! Definitely two of the greatest 3DS games.

Sakurai's statement after Brawl's release that the Animal Crossing series was too pacifist to warrant a playable character is what made most people doubtful about a playable Animal Crossing character.

Yet if it weren't for that statement, everyone would've been expecting an Animal Crossing character.

I missed out too! Just got my 3DS last weekend, along with Uprising, New Leaf, and of course, Mask of Miracle. Don't know why I waited so long to upgrade.

Sakurai's statement after Brawl's release that the Animal Crossing series was too pacifist to warrant a playable character is what made most people doubtful about a playable Animal Crossing character.

I was one of the few people who expected a playable Animal Crossing character for SSB4. Hell, I even suggested the name "Villager" when most people were suggesting "Animal Crosser"... I remember people used to argue that Villager doesn't have a set appearance but I did suggest that the Villager's appearance be based on the Animal Crossing Boy trophy in Brawl (same clothes, different haircut, difference face) and the box art on City Folk (same clothes, same haircut, same face). They weren't supporting the Animal Crossing protagonist for not having a name and not having a set appearance so they were supporting NPC's like Tom Nook, Mr. Resetti, or K.K. Slider. I believed that Sakurai would change his mind about Animal Crossing characters for SSB4 because opinions usually change over time... and I, for one, am very happy to have Villager in SSB4.

I will admit the Villager was a "guilty pleasure" choice of mine before he was confirmed. Naturally, I thought his chances were shot because of Sakurai's statement. Needless to say, I was really happy when he was revealed.

I was always kinda skeptical about MegaMan's inclusion honestly. Felt he was only really appealing to the US masses. He's nearly not all that popular in Europe.

Something happening tonight seems goofy likely but I don't want to hype myself up too much. It's hard though because so many things simply line up: Sakurai's birthday is Saturday, it's a new month, and he's shown something buzz worthy every Friday for the past three weeks. What do you guys think?

I am not sure if its just me, but I liked FE8 more than FE13.

Overall, I would personally rank the international FE games like this:
FE7=FE9>FE8>FE13>FE10>FE11

FE13 is probably a better FE game than FE8, but I definitely had more fun with FE8 overall. Kind of like comparing Super Mario 3D Land to Sunshine, 3D Land is definitely the superior platformer and Mario game, but I had more fun with Sunshine.

My favorites in the series are pretty much FE4, FE5, FE6, FE7, and FE9.

When it comes to Fire Emblem, probably my favorite is either Fire Emblem: Sword of Flame or Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.

I remember we had discussions some time ago (before E3) about an Animal Crossing Villager. Most people would agree on that if Sakurai had not made that statement about the Villager being unfeasible to fight, we would have seen a lot more people add Villager to their rosters (perhaps because of how big and successful the series is). And who knows. He could have been a popular request. Pre-E3 I had put Villager on my “uncertain” list. Not because of how he/she doesn’t have a set appearance, but because of Sakurai’s statement. At the time, I felt that Animal Crossing as a whole might get the wrong impressions, and the Villager himself (as he comes from a peaceful series). I shared similar views on Miis actually (plus Nintendo’s strict policy on using them in party-like games). However, now that Smash isn’t too violent for Villager, I just don’t know what to think. I think I’m too parentally or something >.>

Sakurai likes to add things that he couldn’t in previous Smash installments, I understand. I’m not upset at Villager’s inclusion, his moveset is very unique (and I really thought an AC villager would be hilarious). I’m just disappointed that my worrying over Villager getting the wrong impression came out true (even if it’s a joke, it’s still everywhere though lol). Just look at all the memes now centring around the Villager. I mean I guess it can’t really be avoided; people like to turn cute and peaceful things into blood-thirsty monsters! I just find that whole thing kinda ironic, especially if Sakurai thought there would be misconceptions about Animal Crossing/Villager if an AC Villager is included.

In the end, I'm gald Sakurai took the risk (he probably knew the risks anyway). Villager looks like a unique and fun fighter and it's just another example that Sakurai likes to reconsider ideas that couldn’t be implanted in previous installments (due to whatever reason). Though, people shouldn't go overboard with this, there are some things, or should I say characters, I'd like to see that couldn't get added in the previous installment... Y'know, a fiery boy and a legendary Psychic-type Pokmon... *cough*RoyAndMewtwo*cough*

Path of Radience and Radiant Dawn are both good. Maybe it's just me being biased or something, because at the time both games were more... expansive I guess you could say.

I still like the GBA games better.

Played Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn the most. Next comes FE7. Then FE6 and FE8. **** it, I ****ing love Fire Emblem. I even replayed Shadow Dragon multiple times.

I never play Radiant Dawn I only Played Path of Radiance. In addition to to Path of Radiance, I played Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword, Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones (Free 3DS Ambassador game ) and Fire Emblem: Awakening

Fire Emblem Awakening ruined my view on the series.

Mostly because it catered to me with easy grinding, short story, standard maps, etc.
Now when I play 7, 8, 9, or 10, I miss those things and I get bored and go back to awe at my maxed out Chrom, Nah, and Owain.

Conclusion; Play 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 before Awakening, because once you go lazy, you might not go back.

Oh, newcomers? Still betting on Chrom or Dixie Kong.

That would be cool given how King Dedede seems to far away be his favorite Kirby character. Also, yes, I remember how the internet exploded on that day. Nearly 14 months without a new character reveal and then *BOOM* there's Ike. The reveal of Ike was also when the dam broke too and we started getting new characters almost weekly from the beginning of August to the end of October. Ah yes, those were exciting times.

As for Fire Emblem characters, I still think an ideal roster that pleases both Japan and the West would be: Marth, Roy (Japan popular characters), Ike and Lyn (US / EU popular characters).

To be honest, I'd suggest something else after we got Wii Fit Trainer. You know, some more contrasting. That, and after we got Wii Fit Trainer, maybe revealing Mii now would be a bad move at the moment.

I don't know there is a petition going around for Reggie to be in Smash Bros., and Miis would technically make Reggie playable.

I was just guessing for a newcomer that would coincide with Sakurai's birthday, and technically a Mii could be of Sakurai, I guess. I personally am not expecting anymore newcomer unveils for a while.

Its also possible Sakurai knows that its been six years since the confirmation of Ike, and goes with a confirmation for the return of Ike, or the confirmation of some sort of FE newcomer. However, I am not expecting that either.

I mean, it would be odd that we already have a Fire Emblem stage already revealed and yet we'd have to wait a long time for something like that. Then again, we did briefly see Castle Siege from the first trailer at E3 2006 and we didn't learn about Ike until 2007.

Maybe it's because I REALLY want something to be confirmed regarding to Fire Emblem. Who ever gets revealed will shut up a certain group, guaranteed. I would want Marth to be revealed as a promoted default character, or Ike so those punks at GameFAQs can choke on a ****.

I still get in about an hour of playing LvD just about every day. I'm always up for a quick match.

I would be ecstatic if a Fire Emblem character was confirmed, because, as Habanero said, it would shut people up a bit. Personally, I hope Ike is revealed first on a Radiant Dawn stage on the Wii U, since he has far and away the biggest group of detractors of the FE "big four" character possibilities, barring maybe Roy.

Ah well, it seems like looking into new series seems to be the way to go this time around, a bit of contrast from Brawl which mainly focused on expanding the existing stuff. It's understandable why too, when you think about it. For stuff that doesn't have a reo on the roster, it's looking more colorful.

I hope Dillon's Rolling Western gets more sequels, I'd love Dillon in Smash. (Even if he's not in 4, there's always 5.)
