I didn't even use Rolling-Rock Mario to get that Green Star.

I rolled to the end of the track, and maneuvered myself onto the stray block in the top left corner to disable the boulder-rolling form. I then got back onto the track via a Triple Jump on the thin piece of railing, ran to the Green Star, angled myself using first-person view, and jumped.

I was laughing. I was also dumbstruck.

Over the hills and far away...
A little late, but I kinda liked Fluzzard, I didn't like the levels at first but then I got used to the controls and it wasn't that bad.
Plus it reminds me of Ho-oh, my favorite Legendary.

Anyway, I got all the normal star this morning, just need the green stars it's a shame my sisters sleeping in that room.

I tried getting out of rock state by ground pounding near the end (what usually cancels the boulder), but that didn't work. I did not even think of trying that.

Wait you can cancel it?

but that didn't work. I did not even think of trying that.
Most likely because it wasn't intended to work like that. The Block is there to make you crash so you can jump and get the star without risking flying off the platform, and the timing on the Triple Jump is so tight that there's no room for error. The camera also moves around after the Triple Jump, so you have to move your Control Stick at the same speed to keep Mario going in that direction to just barely grip onto the track.

Yup. It works well on boulder bowl, but I couldn't get it to work on either version of the level.

I never even noticed a block was there. When I got the star normally I just bouced around till I managed to grab it (which took forever). Ah well, live and learn.

That 3rd green star on Melty Monster. Took me a few tries, and yes, I used rock form :p

I've noticed that there are tons of green stars that are much easier to get using Luigi. I think you're "supposed" to play as Luigi for them. You unlock him just in time, his jumps are much better and higher than Mario's, and the stars are GREEN!

I can imagine. I remember in galaxy 1 that he made things like grabbing purple coins on top of a whomp a lot easier. But, at the same time, I got every star in the game using Mario, so it's not like Luigi is neccesary. Plus, on tighter platforms such as the first Boulder Bowl and Hightail falls having the extra traction is a necessity. None of the green stars are that difficult if you know how to use your jumps and spins. Only those that force you to take a huge risk and will cause death due to a miss are truly tough.

Yeah, I've noticed.

Hopefully it'll stay there. It deserves that #1

Wait, really? Weegee jumps better?

I didn't know that, I was just doing them all with mario...
Luigi's jumps are insane. If you triple jump, wall jump, and spin well, he can pretty much fly.

It's insane when you long jump with Cloud Luigi as well.
Luigi is just an air master in general. I've been able to make it past that huge gap in fluffy buff without using a single cloud using Luigi over Mario. As I've said, only problem with him is his very low traction. With a few exceptions, though, Luigi is probably better to use for getting green stars even though one shouldn't have much difficulty doing the same thing with Mario.

OK, just starting the green stars challenge now. I've only done the ones in Sky station and Rainbow Ride so far.

The only time I'd suggest mario over Luigi is if you're doing a part like the ride in Boo moon. Luigi's slide makes it easy to fall off, and you can't really utilize his jumping advantage. Of course, I used him anyway lol

@92 here, kind of moving slowly. Been shuffling between this and Majora's Mask. I haven't had trouble in a Mario game since Mario 3, so this game is definitely testing my patience. (In an amazing way)

I'm at like 73 or something. I JUST beat Bowser a couple of days ago and considering that I just got SM64 for the Virtual Console, I think I'd prefer to concentrate on completing the game that brought me happy memories as a kid rather than the highest rated game of all time.

I'll most likely get around to completing it when I get all the stars in SM64

I'm at the last star...the LAST ****ING STAR.

I CAN'T DO THIS TONIGHT! I used all my energy getting to this point today...I jumped from 160 to the last one!
But it's ok...I'll have this done before class.

241 or 242. First one is a cake walk. Second one will challange you beyond human comprehension.

Jump under and pray to god you make it.

At least, from what I remember. I've forgotten 90% of the green star locations.

Same here. I ran around with one life spinning like crazy to keep the Boos in the wall. When I finally found the exit, I got hit and died lol.

Wow go Metroid Prime. Best game ever.

Anyways, this game is pretty awesome. I'm @91 stars.. I'd be done but Pokemon has me weighed down currently, lol.

You need 9999 star bits in bank toad to access. Also, while you are collecting useless items, grab your lucky rabbits foot, four leaf clover, leprechaun, and snapshot from when you hit triple 7s in slots. You will need them.

I think I have over 8000 right now.

EDIT: I've gotten to it. I've only made it as far as the 5th part with my brother. Wow, this really tests your skill.

Spoiler Question:

First in normal font I must say, after you get the final world done and start the second half of the game, the harder/longer half, the difficulty REALLY does spike up...sheesh D:.

Okay so once I have Luigi is there ever a point in using Mario?
