So it seems that Isaac is heavily supported and my suspicions seem to be true. Many Nintendo fans of the lesser known side of Nintendo games want their franchises to be revived:

• Custom Robo
• Chibi Robo
• Sin and Punishment
• Hotel Dusk
• Trace Memory
• Magical Starsign
• Advance Wars
• Doshin the Giant
• Panel De Pon

And the fans of these franchises voted for Isaac and are pushing for Golden Sun to be revived so their franchises may be revived as well. Isaac comes from the same cloth as the other lesser known Nintendo franchises and by supporting Isaac they hope that their franchises will be revived alongside Golden Sun.

Do you guys believe this to be true?

I’m kind of a fan of all dead Nintendo franchises, so yeah. I support Isaac partially because I love Golden Sun, but also because of what he represents.

Just saw the results of the /r/smashbros poll, and suffice to say that I'm overjoyed given how Isaac and Lloyd performed. They both had to pull off some insane wins, and I'm glad we could count on each other. Here's to hoping we'll get to fight side by side in the game as well!

You know I'm actually wondering now if this overlap in fanbase could inadvertently be a detriment to one of the characters chances.

Yeah I figured. Really disappointing because she deserves to at least be a semi-clone but a huge number of people see her as only viable as a Diddy Echo. We must be fighting a losing uphill battle on here.

Lloyd's got two of them dragon quest is iconic so it gets a pass and I dont have anything for crono but he should still get in and sora don't use a sword

To be honest, F-Zero is not a lesser known Nintendo franchise. It is very well known, even more so than Golden Sun itself.

I'd say i was disappointed, but i'm not sure i was expecting anything to begin with.

Lucina-Probably takes approx. 2 days, max, to change the model and some move data around.

Pit/Dark Pit-See above. Also, they technically use bows that just so happen to also turn into dual blades.

Chrom-Roy's Our Boy but without fire effects and some extra borrowed moves. Doesn't seem to take too much more time to make than Lucina/Dark Pit.

Ike-Greatsword user. Unique.

Robin-A mage that happens to have a sword. Unique.

Corrin-A manakete that happens to have a sick-looking chainsaw sword. Unique.

Link, Young Link, and Toon Link-Adult Normal Link should always be kept, no exceptions, and while his semi-clones leave something to be desired appearance-wise, I'm perfectly fine with having them all back for an "everyone his here"-style game.

Meta Knight-He's unique AND comes with a neat battleship.

Cloud-He exists. Also, his stage is cool. Unique, too.

Ganondorf-I forgot he uses a sword in Ultimate. Well, he's iconic, so he might as well be kept.

Greninja, Mega Man, Kirby-Do they even count as sword users?

Mii Fighter-Well, yeah, I guess they're fine. Customizable, too.

Shulk-The Monado Boi is much, much different to the other sword fighters. Unique.

Even though F-Zero might never return, I am grateful we got the masterpiece that is F-Zero GX (one of the very best GameCube games).

F-Zero Climax was also a fitting conclusion to the 2D Mode 7 version to the series.

If there is just one thing I would still like to see with F-Zero (and trust me I am a massive F-Zero fan), it would be a re-release of F-Zero X with all of the Expansion Kit content. That stuff is too good just to be left as a 64DD exclusive.

I think F-zero has a chance to come back but I mostly want Sega to do it again the gamecube era seemed to be were series peaked/died sadly

The GBA era is where F-Zero died.

They probably just used any creativity they had for the big seller instead, which is sad seeing how many people are out there begging Nintendo to take their wallets for F-Zero.

Beyond that, they don't even need to do anything new with it. F-Zero's got that distinction of being the hardcore racing game to contrast Mario Kart's beginner-friendly nature. Just make some new challenging courses with that insane speed and ship it out in glorious HD.

Sadly, I feel like the 200cc mode and F-Zero tracks are the Big N saying, "this is the best you will get".

Besides the lack of any graphics, I think it moved the series forward in a direction that was favorable in the long run. Pilot Profiles and custom parts were really great additions. The awesome gravity mechanic and the 60 FPS was such a great way to push the series forward.

If only the US commercials were like the JPN commericals. F-Zero X could've sold much more.

But the Mario Kart team was just working on ARMS.

So they couldn't have been working on another racing game, as much as I thought they should have given how little I care for ARMS.

Oh absolutely. Golden Sun is only the start for me. You better believe I’m gunning for Ray and a Custom Robo revival immediately after Isaac gets in. And I’d love to see the Advance Wars people happy. I also think Starfy on the DS is a highly underrated, and incredibly charming little game. Some more Sin & Punishment would be rad as well. Although, Kid Icarus Uprising kind of already carried the torch of Sin & Punishment. After all, the gameplay is very similar. Only KI has a lot more variety and content, as well as a far more interesting story and cast of characters. So I’d probably be content if we just got some more Kid Icarus in the style of S&P.

...Anyway, yes. I very much believe that Isaac is the man to start the revival of forgotten Nintendo IPs. And I really do feel that it’s gonna happen.
