I find it fascinating that some of the people in this thread seemed to have already played the game to know that Petey is playable or not. There aren't any rules for size and what not as far as I remember that determines a character coming into Brawl. Petey isn't that big at all and when you compare him to his other appearances, he's roughly the same size as those appearances. I don't see it out there as him being a playable character, he'll just be hard to kill. I don't see how size matters at all, in fact, where was this ever even a rule stated from Sakurai that a character had to be a certain height to be in the game? A bit ridiculous if you ask me.
Also, for those spouting that if he isn't playable and could be Gamesharked/Action Replay'd that's not going to happen. There isn't an AR yet, the original placeholder date was Aug 15th and then got pushed back to the next placeholder date of Feb 1 2008. I doubt we'll be getting one at all because the Wii's recent firmware update blocked all GCN ARs and Freeloaders. Also, there's no homebrew software to hack Wii like there was for GCN and there'd need to be an AR in order for there to be a Debug in order to play as NPCs. All I'm saying is, it won't happen, it's not going to. Don't get your hopes up for a Debug Menu for Brawl.
Anyway, I liked this update aside from people claiming Petey to be too big to be playable. Hopefully, this week's character update confirms whether or not he's apart of the Marioverse or his own verse (icon I mean) because this would determine if Bowser Jr. will appear or not. I hope Bowser Jr. does appear though, if not...**** that'll suck.
In short, there aren't any rules that determines a character's appearance in Brawl that have been said by Sakurai (IIRC) it's just made up by fans who try to find ways to not include a character. Based off of Pokémon Trainer I think any character can get into Brawl at this point. Even Petey Piranha, so stop saying he won't be playable just because of his size.
