Name: Noivern

Item: Poke Ball

Play Style: Offensive

Rarity: Very Uncommon

Description: Upon being sent out, Noivern roars, then uses Boomburst, which fires 4 noise pulses from both sides of itself. These pulses stun and damage enemies. If an opponent is hit by 4 pulses, the final pulse deals great damage and knockback.

Name: Honedge

Item: Poke Ball

Play Style: Item-Like

Rarity: Uncommon

Description: When sent out, Honedge lands on the ground like an item. Pick it up if you dare- Though it deals more damage than any Melee item, Honedge sucks the life out of the user per hit, dealing damage according to what attack type lands. It disappears once dropped, snickering before it leaves.

Inkay

When released from a Poke Ball, Inkay will utilize its psychic powers to temporarily drain your opponents' offensive strength; they'll only be able to attack with 1/2 of their original strength. This affects even indirect attacks, but the effects of the move only last for 30 seconds.

As assist trophies goes there are a few categories in relation to their chances of making the jump to playable

1. Common enemies (Knuckle Joe, Hammer Bro)
2. Potenial Player characters
a. Side characters (Shadow, Samurai Goroh)
b. Series that didn't make it (Issac, Saki)
3. Impossible Characters (Helirin, Andross)

From this here's what I think/want

1. Redead, Likelike, Metool (little hard hat robot from Mega Man), Kremling
2.
a. Thajira, Protoman, Funky Kong
b. Pandora's Tower protagonist, Sukapon
3. Doshin

I wish enemies like Goombas and Koopa's would appear out of capsules again. That was always an interesting idea.

On topic:
Assist Trophies = Dr. Wily, Beedle, Ghirahim
Pokeball = Something 6th Gen, like the new Legendary Pokemon; Genesect; Drifbloon

I think that Tingle should come back as an assist trophy. Maybe they could make him a little bit better? Who knows. I just want him in the game one way or another. Maybe if they take out the party ball, he could act as a party ball.

Name: Victini, the Victory Pokemon

Type: Poke Ball

Playstyle: Attacker

Rarity: Legendary Rare

Availability: Start

Description: Victini is sent out, and he makes a V sign with his paw. Then he flies off. After flying off, he does 3-6 fast strafing runs from side to side with V-Create. When Victini hits someone, the attack does massive damage and knockback. This attack's hitbox is bit taller that Ganondorf and a bit wider than Pikachu. When done, Victini flies to the center of the stage, and maker a V-Sign with his paw, then flies straight up, disappearing and ending the Poke Ball's effect.

Terrakion

Being a legendary Pokemon, Terrakion is very rare to release from a Poke Ball. However, it has greater odds of appearing out of a Master Ball.

Upon being released, Terrakion will execute Sacred Sword, and attack all nearby targets. Sacred Sword bypasses shields, and offers good damage and knockback.

this thread has been silent for awhile, but since the release of X and Y, i'll bump it~

in pokemon X and Y, you can encounter pokemon "swarms" in the wild, which are 5 pokemon on the opposite side. I know you can only catch a single pokemon with a poke ball, but wouldn't it but awesome if 5 wingulls or combee's or zubats came out of a pokeball?

Since there's an official tease of Pokemon X/Y's appearance in Smash 4, it's safe to assume there'll be some available as Pokeball threats.

Name : Goomy
Effect : As Goomy appears on stage, he'll begin scuttling and slugging across the platform it's on with his happy face. If any opponent comes in contact with Goomy, Goomy will just stick to them like gum.
During contact time, Goomy will slowly sap away the victim's health and rack up damage, 1% every 2 secs. Goomy can be passed between players. After a minute of contact time, Goomy will fall off and return to it's pokeball.

As a bonus effect, (should Goomy be avoided at all costs in its duration time), on a rare occasion, Goomy will shake vigorously and use Draco Meteor, decimating the whole stage and anyone who steps in the way. This will let everyone know Goomy is still a dragon that means business.

I have an interesting idea for a new item related to the Poké Balls, tell me if it's interesting or not.
Basically, the item I was thinking about is the Mega Ring. The Mega Ring is a new item introduced in Pokémon X & Y which gives the player the ability of making his pokémons mega-evolve.In Smash Bros, the Mega Ring would be a fairly rare item which works like the Medal from Earthbound, when you get it, it sticks to you. The difference is that it doesn't cause any effect whatsoever and that it sticks to you till the end of the match, UNLESS it is used. So, even if it doesn't have an instant use, in the long-term perspective, anyone will fight to get it.
How do you use it? Well, there are certain Poké Balls that can release Pokémon which can mega-evolve. So, if you release, let's say, a Blastoise from a Poké Ball, two scenarios can happen:
1) if you don't have the Mega Ring, Blastoise will simply attack like he did in Melee.
2) if you have the Mega Ring, Blastoise mega-evolves into Mega Blastoise and performs a much stronger attack.
After that, the Mega Ring disappears and you'll have to get another one if you want another Mega-evolution. It doesn't have infinite uses.
Since there aren't many Mega Pokémon (they're like 30 I guess) and some of them are actual playable characters (Charizard, Lucario, Mewtwo), this occasion will present itself pretty rarely, but I'm sure it would be simply amazing. I'm thinking at least 15 MegaPokémon should be available, given that all the above will be playable. Here's the list of MegaPokémon known so far (except Mewtwo, Lucario and Charizard):
Venusaur
Blastoise
Gengar
Kanghaskhan
Ampharos
Blaziken
Mawile
Aggron
Absol
Garchomp
Tyranitar
Alakazam
Pinsir
Scizor
Houndoom
Banette
Manectric
Gyarados
Aerodactyl
Heracross
Gardevoir
Medicham
Abomasnow
Now since every one of this Pokémon should have not one but two attacks worked over I guess half of them it's more than enough, with maybe a DLC in the future including the other ones. Just imagine the potential of this new feature. What do you think?

Pangoro-Pandarbare-Pandagro_official-art_300dpi-1152x984.jpg

Name: Pangoro
Item: Poke Ball
Play Style: Offensive
Rarity: Uncommon
Description: When sent out, Pangoro roars loudly, putting anyone near him disabled. He'll then walk towards one of them, and socks them with a hard fist. Once he gets near someone and readies his fist, they can't move, and shake, similar to how Beast Ganon freezes opponents in Brawl.

Delphox

When released from a Poke Ball, Delphox will use Mystical Fire to attack opponents. However, Mystical Fire also has the added effect of heavily hindering anyone's indirect attacks by cutting their power in half temporarily; direct attacks are unaffected. Mystical Fire also temporarily cuts the power of magic attacks in half, which is highly detrimental to magic users.

Mystical Fire's effects last for about 20 seconds, and the damage is about average.

Zebstrika
image.jpg

When released from a Pokéball, Zebstrika will run to the nearest side of the stage, crouch down, charge up stored electricity, and burst forwards using Wild Charge to the side of the stage it's facing while surrounded by electrical energy. When players come in contact with Zebstrika in this state, they can end up hitting a side of Zebstrika and get 15% Electrical damage with slight knockback, but if they hit the front, the sweetspot, they could get either 30-45% Electrical damage with high knockback or OHKOed.

Possible Mario Series Assist Trophies

Nabbit:

Steals items on the stage. If you hit him, the items he is carrying will fall out of his bag. It takes Nabbit 7 seconds to get back up. Once up, he will go back to stealing items. Nabbit lasts for 20 seconds.

Since I am the ZeldaMaster, here are some good Zelda Assist trophy possibilities to consider:

Loftwing.png

Loftwing: Of the numerous colored Loftwings in Skyward Sword, any one of them can be summoned. When summoned, the Loftwing glides into the air and plunges down toward enemies at random intermittent periods. The Loftwing can snacth an opponent when next to them and can carry them to a bottomless pit, leaving the opponent to recover as best they can.

Epona: She can run from one end of the stage to the other, from left to right and vice versa. If the stage is not made up of a continuous platform, she can stop, and immediately turn around and start running in the other direction. She can know over opponents by ramming into them.

Greninja

When released from a Poke Ball, Greninja will swiftly move from place to place, and use Water Shuriken on opponents. The attack itself is weak, but because Greninja can throw multiple Water Shurikens, the damage that the attacks can do can add up.

Greninja basically focuses on racking up damage, but its attacks can potentially result in KOs.

Once summoned from a Pokéball, Tepig will cover himself in flames. He then jumps and crashes at the nearest enemy, dealing high damage and knockback.

One summoned, it will aimless flop around until someone hits it. Once hit it evolves into Gyarados and hyper beams and thrashes after the player that hit it.

Hydreigon - Tri Attack - Hydreigon flies around and spouts 3 beams from his mouth, one electric, one fire, one ice. The fire one burns and the ice one freezes, the electric one doesn't have any statuses to give, but has some heavy knockback

Xerneas - Geomany - When sent out, Xerneas does a roar, then executes the move. The Summoner gets a free final smash. Cannot be summoned if Smash Ball has been turned off in the items menu

Yveltel - Oblivion Wing - Yveltel will fly up to one of the upper corners and will lock onto an opponent. The summoner will get half of the dealt damaged healed.

Excadrill - Dig/Drill Run - Excadrill will drill into the ground, and will pop out of a few random spots before disappearing.

Ferrothorn - ?????? - Essentially a moving bumper, it will spin around the stage, and whoever gets into contact with it will lose little damage, but will be sent back like a bumper

Avalugg - ????? - Avalugg does no damage at all, and only moves around slowly. Instead, he can be jumped on as if he was a platform. If there's water in the stage and he falls in, he can float and people can still get on his back.

Zorua - Illusion - When summoned, Zorua goes around and suddenly turns into any character you unlocked in the roster so far, and uses their moveset. This effect lasts for around 20 seconds or so

Inkay - Topsy Turvy - When summoned, Inkay will flip the entire screen upside down like Palkia in Spear Pillar. This effect lasts for about 20 seconds or so.

I know this is quite a lot. I don't really have a strong list of wanted Assist Trophies yet. But eh, these are some of the poke ball pokes I want to see.

Hawlucha

When released from a Poke Ball, Hawlucha will utilize its signature Flying Press attack to damage opponents. Flying Press has Meteor Smash properties, and can temporarily bury grounded opponents. The attack itself is moderately strong.

Edit: New Assist Trophy input.

Zazz

Zazz appears as an unlockable Assist Trophy, requiring the player to unlock Sonic before he'll start appearing.

When released from an Assist Trophy, Zazz will utilize his Moon Mech to maneuver around the stage. Because of how unstable Zazz is, he'll be moving around at unpredictable rates. Players who get hit by the Moon Mech will be sent flying, and how far the players are sent flying depends on how fast Zazz is moving with his Moon Mech.

This lil' fella right here is highly due an assist trophy. None of that Shadow/Timer reskin b*llocks.
How could he work? Couple of possibilities, starting with my personal most preferable:

1. Much as his first appearance in Sonic 2, he follows you around, attacks when you attack and jumps when you jump. It's a nice feat that he can fly, so he can easily follow characters with good recovery. His attacks would be fairly basic (alter between 2-3 attacks a la Waluigi), and more about doing additional damage than actually smashing the enemy. In my opinion the most iconic you could possibly get.

2. Flies around in the air and will attempt to grab you if you get punched off stage.

3. Ravages the stage with his plane, the Tornado, in some way. Maybe he shoots the lot, maybe he flies right into it? This would make it a rather boring assist trophy, tho.

Boomerang Bro

When released from an Assist Trophy, the Boomerang Bro will throw boomerangs at opponents. Unlike Link's Boomerang, however, these boomerangs deliver stronger knockback, and can send opponents flying vertically.

Sledge Bro

When released from an Assist Trophy, the Sledge Bro will operate in a similar manner as the Hammer Bro. However, whenever the Sledge Bro jumps, upon landing, it'll cause a tremor that'll temporarily stun nearby opponents. Additionally, the Sledge Bro can temporarily bury opponents that it lands on.

Chargin' Chuck

When released from an Assist Trophy, the Chargin' Chuck will start charging at any opponents that they spot. Opponents can actually knock off the Chargin' Chuck's helmet, but this will cause it to become more furious when that happens. The charge attack is relatively strong, but it becomes more powerful when the Chargin' Chuck is in its furious stage.

Edit: New Assist Trophy input.

Magikoopa

When released from an Assist Trophy, the Magikoopa will utilize its magic to affect the opponents in different ways. The magic effects often vary with each appearance, which include...

*Opponents are burned, reducing their direct attack power, and taking 1% damage for every 2 seconds that pass. Effects last for 20 seconds.
*Opponents receive paralysis, causing them to get electrocuted for every 2 seconds that pass. Each shock deals 1% damage, and lasts for 20 seconds.
*Opponents get turned tiny for 20 seconds.
*Opponents have their speed reduced, making them move slower than normal for 20 seconds.
*Opponents have their weight reduced, making it easier for them to be sent flying for 20 seconds.
*Opponents have their indirect attacks weakened for 20 seconds.

I may as well bump this and mention that Skull Kid was announced as an assist trophy today, therefore confirming assist trophies for the game.
