clearly that Melee tourney wasn't promoted well nor was it given the attention the SFIV tourney OBVIOUSLY was. I'm not trying to compare the two........................but then again, neither should you.

I had like 8,000 Melee friendlies with Wife and Umbreon Mow this weekend. It was pretty amazing.

OH OH OH SO IS BRAWL+ WOWWW

I can't wait til they finish it! We got to play the Beta version because there's all kinds of stuff still broken in it, but basically top Smashers will continue toying around with it to find all the broken things about it so that the Brawl+ Code writers can fix it til it's its own legit game.

but for real. so. ****ing. exhilarating.

nah most people don't know, it was at Chu's this weekend [GodIsMyRock and his brother brought it to Chu's] and basically "they" [not GIMR and his bro] hacked Brawl to pieces and what we have now are the early workings of a cross between Melee and Brawl.

If you didn't realize this just now, Hitstun + Autocancel Aerials =....CAPTAIN FALCON MOTHER****AAAAASSSS

the stuff these guys are able to reprogram are amazing, and what they're working on right now is balancing characters as much as possible through changing knockback distance and changing lag after moves are done [like MK's dsmash..OH and I think they're even making MK lighter so he dies at lower % as well as making him heavier when he does tornado so he can't get as much vertical distance with it]

the DI is more reminiscent of Melee and a couple things happened by accident [like ROB's sideB makes him FLY across the entire stage with hilarious speed and enthusiasm XD

the guys who are doing the programming made a short combo[NO REALLY!!!]/features video!

i support the movement to fix brawl, but kits is right. all the stuff that anti-brawl people have said is pretty much confirmed by 1) the fact that people are willing to put so much effort into reforming the game and 2) that the "reform movement" has such a strong following (yourself included). TBH, that video was really cool.

it doesnt take a "negative" perspective to come up with a thought like this. That's like saying that efforts to reform No Child Left Behind are negative and *****-whipped; some think it should remain the way it is while most consider it a faulty policy. But noone thinks that it had the wrong heart; no one believes that education shouldnt be reformed, NCLB was just the wrong way to go about it.

and no one is trying to **** on people's happiness. If brawl reforms make you happy and people like me think that it's cool, who is wanting to steal your happiness?

all of this said, this fixing of a game would probably make anti-barwlers settle down if nintendo was doing the fixing. I want reparations, lol.

EDIT: Is sf4>3s? to me it seems to be an alpha/sf2 cross without the depth of sf3 (or am i completely missing some new depth to the game? im very much a noob to sf)

@boose-EX2 is decent, it'll last much longer than the Madcatz SE stick. and if it busts it'll cost about $40 to replace buttons and change stick. the madcatz TE stick and HRAP are much much better though. the quality sticks cost more but i think they are well worth it. ever since i got my TE stick, i don't touch my EX2 anymore.

@toasty-****ting on happiness in my last name. <3 i mean if everyone loves brawl plus than what was the point in playing "competitive brawl"? is there anyone who is against brawl+? cuz it just makes it seem like brawl was a terrible game that people put up with for the sake that it wasn't melee.

@crystal-imo sf3 isnt all that grand, you are awarded for guessing with parries. sf4, focus attack is both offensive and defensive tool so how you use it is up to you. to me, there isn't much depth in parry->c.mk->SA2 w/ chun.

LOLLL sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

Our group of RL friends [Kits included] love to give eachother **** all the time and Kits is known for being negative, whipped, and for ruining people's happiness so I decided to leave the "lolol jkz" out of it XD

but at the same time I agree with the words that he said, it's just that I know him so well and he's practically dismissing the potential fun and amazingness of Brawl+ [as a Brawl alternative, not a Melee one of course haha].

of COURSE a game is pretty bad if players put that much effort into fixing it, that's common sense!

I was mainly just trying to make fun of Kits while hoping that people would actually give Brawl+ a shot

i def do want a TE but since i dont actually have a copy of SF4 (or a 360) and none of my friends back home are competitive players and probably wont buy SF4, it'd be a waste for my first stick purchase to be so expensive just to collect dust a lot of the time

although the video still looks really... floaty? I dunno some of the combos just don't look "legit".

Buying a good stick will NEVER be a waist. Even if no one back home plays SFIV, you can still practice your execution w/o playing anyone. that and the online play for SFIV is actually solid. (unlike brawl and the sorry *** WiFi wii garbage).

If your just looking for something to get you by, get an EX2. Im using one right now and its doing very well. If it wears down, i plan to mod it for about $45 rather than just replace the buttons. I still plan on getting a TE stick when they get re-released though.

As far as brawl+ goes, is this gonna be an actual game or just some people modding brawl-
(see what i did thar? lolz). ill play it for sure, but i must say right now my soul is burning with desire to get MUCH better at SFIV. This is a feeling i have not felt since my first big melee tourney back in socal (TG4) and i plan to embrace it with all of my being.

Also I sold my Brawl to get RE5. Sorry Brawlers but Resident Evil is too good.

going to echo that the Hori EX2 is a good entry level stick. I bought one when i wasn't sure if i'd even like a stick or not, definitely got me used to it, and now i couldn't go back to controller. If you get really into the stick you'll probably want an upgrade, but you can deal with that when the time's right. May have to shop around a bit for an EX2 with all the price gouging going on right now.. i'd say not to pay more than $50 for one if you can help it.

My TE stick arrived last week, while my 360 was out for repairs ;\. So i haven't played anything but 3s and tetris on it so far, haha.

edit: also, brawl+ is stupid. There's no way it would be widely adopted, and at a certain point you might as well make a ****ing doujin smash game if you're so unhappy with brawl.
