Lets see...

I entered the Gamer's Edge weekly tourney today, all Sonic
I think i came in 4th overall. The enterants were 15-20, but we blew threw the nubs without even a second glance, xD

I got some good matches in, and they were recorded too, my doubles with this kid were CRAZY, but we never once played together, so it was a bit chaotic, xD

Not too bad, and vid proof, but i got pwnd but this crap kid's ROB, and i was owning him at first... stages were meh...

Wow, it's good to see some of the standings and how sonic seems to be doing pretty well. =D
It's too bad I suck at him, lol.

When i lost to that ROB... its cause i got hit... xD
That, and i did practice ROB, but online... and it really threw my timing, 95% of my matches are now online, i have no one to play offline anymore... sighz*

So... dont get out-prioritized (LMAO) and whatever you do...

"Don't get hit!"

I went all sonic... xD

Its amazing how many ppl say they have never played a good Sonic, and when you can remain unpredictable, what u can accomplish.
But a MK gave me trouble as did a ROB, but they played off... not good just... off... ackward... :/

yo, do some repping for the kirbys too, all they have is chudat, they need sommore ppl showing how awesome and cute he is. and im going to give you the second best advice you will ever get for a tourney

NEVER, EVER, second guess yourself, dont try new strats in tourneys. if you are comfortable fighting a falco on final D, play it dont CP a stage or character just because of something you heard about on the boards. go on your own experience. that will yield the best results. good luck, and i hope you do very well

I would not go Ganon unless you are an absolute beast with him. Seriously, a lot of the tourney worthy characters **** him hard (Falco for example)
As for Sonic..camp more. Seriously, wait for an opening, don't just run on in there and expect results.
Also, grab more, Sonic's grabs are great.

I see where your coming from Roy. But I know how to use Ganon. I'm only using him for slower when I don't feel like pwning them with Sonic. And yes, the grab button is going to become my friend in my quest for 1st place. And any Kirby's tips you guys wanna give me?

Where people get NOTHING.
Some things I learned from Kawaii Bunny: Don't hammer on the ground unless you KNOW you can get away with it/hit.
Dropping in rock form changing back before you land and doing dair is awsome.

also imo: mind gaming rock is awsome and essential.
You can Kirbycide alot of chars without killing yourself if you pratice the timing
"Don't get hit" is even more important with Kirby than Sonic.

I went to this tournament yesterday, took 4th out of 14. Used Sonic the entire time.

Beat a Lucario, lost to a G&W, beat another Sonic, beat a wario/MK user, beat a MK user, in three grueling matches lost to BO X7's Mario... best mario I've ever played. The game and watch and mario user who beat me moved on to take 1st and 2nd. MachingunNorm was probably the only well known player there in our area who took 3rd also losing to BO X7's Mario.

While the tournament was small... it was no walk in the park for my Sonic and I used Sonic the whole way through.

Thanks for your support da KID and Kirby/Sonic.

Without making too big of an assumption. MK offline is not as scary as online. The input lag really hurts your ability to counter attack and react to MKs moves. Spammers are harder to punish online in general.

I'm going to try and make it to this event:

If I can... I'll do my best to record matches by bringing a VCR / cassette or something and upload it to my computer later.

Well congrats on that. Is there a Smashboards thread on it? Make sure you give it to the character rankings list in Tactical Discussion, we can't have tournament success ignored and not accounted for (which I'm sure a lot of it has already.)

X and NEs are stepping up there game? Sonic might show a lot of haters how good he is. I hope I can put on a show with my Sonic to at my trouney.

Hey, X, was the MK user laid back/campy, aggressive, or spamful? Just wondering what kind of playstyle they used.

I went to my first brawl tourney yesterday (Melbourne Smash Tournament, Australia) and came 17th out of 49 in singles.

That's the thread with the details.

It felt awesome as a lot of people hadn't seen/played a decent sonic before which seemed to impress them ^^.

However, i played at one point who played wolf and spammed lasers and fsmashed if i ever came close (i remember reading a thread about this a while back) which put me off because i've never really fought a wolf before. So i counter picked him with snake in the following match which worked well even though i only know the basics of snake >.> but i was sonic for the rest of the tourney

Ah well, overall i was happy with my performance.
