New Abilities:
New abilities have been given to the Sonics in this game. For Modern Sonic, Sonic's drift has been tweaked to have been given a Spin Drift instead, which turns Sonic into a ball like his Spin Dash when drifting. Modern Sonic has also been given the ability to combo trick in the air at will and for speed boost, unlike his Sonic Colors counterpart which only has the user pressing the A button for 4 tricks at a time. The speed boost meter is also able to be taken off the charts when having tricked enough times. Classic Sonic controls mostly like his old Genesis counterpart. No real new abilities have been given to Classic Sonic
In addition to new abilities, both Sonics can be equipped with Skills, which can be bought in the skills store for different abilities in game. For example, Modern Sonic can be given a larger speed boost meter or even more speed. Classic Sonic on the other hand can be given a skateboard for normal gameplay use or he can be given a number of speed shoes to use at will during gameplay. Besides the mentioned abilities, there are many more for him to equip
