I still want Smash Run to return greatly. It was the one mode I would consistently play on a daily basis.

To compensate, I'm doing a Paint Drying Sim! Which color will dry first? Will Browny Orange, Lightish Purple, or Pinky Purple be the last paint standing? Tune in and find out!

Apparently there’s a leak going around 4chan that has the character either be downloadable at 10am pst tomorrow morning, or that is when the shadow drop airs.

In that leak, costumes from Dragon Quest, Lloyd Irving, Heihachi, and Byleth (male and female versions) are added.

In addition, a few songs are downloadable for free on Midgar. Not sure what to think, as there are sometimes legit leaks just prior to reveals. But we’ll see.

First thing, it kills Mii Costume Theory. That’s fine by me, despite me being a proponent of the idea. It’ll keep things fresh for a tad longer before Banjo.

Second, Geno isn’t included in that. That’s would be...salt inducing. I can’t imagine why he’d be removed, especially if he isn’t playable.

Hoping the reveal is tonight. We have about 20 minutes to go until anything might start to happen. Reaaaally hoping we see something tonight.

You're not really alone on that regard. I played SMRPG a damn long time ago and I didn't think much of Geno. I never understood the appeal of the puppet back then and I probably never will. Even as a side character he's nowhere near as interesting as the other side characters from the other Mario RPGs.

He's actually a main character in SMRPG. He's basically a side character in the Mario universe due to SMRPG being a side game. There's been some misconceptions of his role in the game(though to be fair, SMRPG was pretty obscure for a Mario game, so many don't know anything about it). He's actually very important to the story overall. The only character in SMRPG who basically brings little to the main story is Peach and that's it. Geno, Mallow, Mario, and Bowser contribute a lot to the overall part of it. Mallow's own story is a bit separated from the core one, but is a big story too.

It's been a while, so I don't remember the exact details of how Geno's star-related stuff ties to Smithy. I think it was that stars control wishes, and Smithy's actions take away the overall wishes. This leaves everybody, even other villains, in a bad position. So it's basically a cataclysmic event for Geno's own job. Mario is just fighting the villain. Bowser wants his castle back. Peach got rescued by the rest of the crew and is helping cause why the hell not.

Ridley, K.Rool, Banjo, and Geno? Playable. Issac? At least he has an AT. Bandana Dee, just as popular as the other 5 but with the added benefit of being mildly important in the last decade? Nothing more than a spirit (that doesn't even get a fight).

We can very well get nothing at EVO altogether. Betting on Nintendo to announce something at a tournament, even the most important major that is EVO, is unwise. Yeah they announced a Smash direct at the end of last year's Melee EVO, but that's the exception that frankly proves the rule. At most we can only ever hope for, only at the most major tournament, an announcement of an announcement. It's better to keep expectations low.

Yeah, but it's also been stated that they do leaks for a bunch of different games; not specifically Smash. So again, what gives people the impression this Smash related? What does a bird have to do at all with Geno? What proof is there this is a hint for Smash?

There isn’t, it’s just speculation because the bird is a Starling, which is where the Geno idea stems from.

edit: if anyone wants to know why, it’s because if you take “starling” literally, it means “of the stars” or “little star.” From what I remember, Sabi’s source may also be a Geno fan but idk, maybe that old water cooler talk Sabi mentioned last year was all it was.

Eh. I wouldn’t complain. But I feel like he would be weird with Sonic’s special attacks. Even more so than Shadow.

(Although, I think they would name him Big Boss)

I changed it up a little for a few reasons:
1. I think it would be kinda weird in my opinion to only have one third party in a pass.
2. I've been under the impression that Echo's take a lot less time to make than a full. character, so I figured they could do roughly 1 extra character for every 2 in our current pass
3. I would prefer Impa be her own character with the huge sword from Hyrule Warriors, so in my opinion Hilda is the perfect choice for a Zelda series echo.
4. I think Raichu would be so much better as a semi clone of Pikachu, over Pichu, so I don't want to see it stuck as an echo. (Especially since Raichu is not only a better design than Pichu, but also cooler than Pikachu in every way)

Your opinions on Raichu and Impa.... don’t really register with me. I see no reason why they can’t work as echoes. Especially if this is their only chance at getting in currently. Plus.... Hilda? Really? She’s a one off character. She’s not that important to her home series. I’d just rather see these two here. Who really cares if they’re 100% unique. Or even semi-clones. People wanted Daisy and Dark Samus to be unique. Oh well.

Shadow is an Assist trophy. Spirits might not reconfirm necessarily, but they certainly do. Shadow is pretty much permanently excluded from Ultimate. And I don’t really think any other Sonic characters would work as echoes of him.

There is no reason for Naked Snake to be anything other than a costume. He even uses the same voice lines. Heck, not quite the same era, but his final Smash was invented BY venom snake. Liquid is the better choice.

If we HAVE to have another third party echo.... Zack Fair? Ms. Pac-Man? Protoman?

Medusa I’d be down for. She was almost on my list, but I wanted to limit it to 6.

I was told a few days ago that Celica is too different to work as a robin echo. Primarily because she doesn’t even use tomes.

In what way? I'm kind of confused. I guess he could get like individual DLC which I wouldn't dislike and I'd definitely take but I'd like for Geno to be given the same treatment Joker and the rest of the FP will be getting.
