kinoko nasu the ****ing legend really took an established beloved character and MADE her trans. she’s not a transhumanist space emperor she’s not a completely new character this is oda nobunaga who’s been with the game pretty much since release and now they’re coming out and saying she’s ****ing trans her second ascension is a dude and the overall unit is genderless they DID THAT

Could imagine why.

Thankfully my friend from Madrid is as peaceful and reasonable as usual, so maybe he is thankfully chill regarding the whole thing.

I fear to ask him now, so if I ever decide to ask his thoughts on that, it may only be during my trip to Madrid. But if he really hasn’t brought that up... he may thankfully be part of the good side of the fandom

I feel like it's not consequential to require a PR push--Pokemon's the type of franchise where (for better or for worse) it will sell regardless of quality/popular opinion.

I should add this is a neutral statement, not saying anything regarding the controversies.

For those out of the loop, some person made a fake Game Freak employee Twitter account, and claimed Masuda harassed her, in an effort to get him fired. Everyone figured out it was BS almost instantly, but the fact that people are willing to go that far is just... ugh

Where exactly is the info talking about it? I mean, I'd be fine with it, but I have not been seeing any talk of it at all. The only thing I found regarding the gender of the new Nobunaga is that her 1st ascensions gender is apparently "?" and uses Nobunaga's childhood name Kippōshi compared to her other ascensions, and that this new Nobunaga is apparently a "amalgamation" of different Nobunagas, which may possibly include the Real-life Nobunaga, as the historically-accurate Nobunaga actually makes an appearance in the new event.
