I think it's cause people tend to single out the ones they really want to be real, hence why the ones that are actually true generally go unnoticed.

On the whole topic of "wrestlers vs archers"... you guys do realize that grappler is an entire fighting game archetype, right? Saying Incineror is like Bowser because they share an archetype is like saying Decidueye would be like Ivysaur because they'd both be grass themed zoners. C'mon.

Bowser and Icineroar are way different. Bowser is super aggressive and uses his strong mobility and massive Fair to chase you down, using his side special as a mix up to deal with shields. He's most almost as much a rushdown character as he is a grappler. Incineroar is more like a true grappler, having to play a slower, more calculated game thanks to his low mobility but still having ways to destroy you when he gets up close. His side special is good for catching spot dodges and rolls from players scared by his strong normal grab, keeping him true to the archetype.

For the record, I was on team Decidueye. But the "fiery wrestler" argument is even worse then the "anime swordsmen" one. Let's give Tony the Tiger credit where its do.

I've spent the past couple days bingewatching Power rangers Time force.

I'm at the finale of the series now and considering how close the finale is to the crossover between the Time force rangers and Lightspeed rangers was, all I can think of when they are all panicking about their team going into the deadly situation that'll kill the 5 main rangers is just "Call up the ****ing Lightspeed rangers, they live in the next town over." lol

Also the Time travel rules in this series are probably the dumbest ones ever.

Without playing it, I could have sworn Sephiroth was trying to rewrite destiny, implying time travel.

Guess I was wrong there. It's still a reboot right? That's ****ing bull**** of Nomura no matter what.

in essence sephiroth has

1. knowledge of his defeat
2. knowledge of the original ending to the point where he's able to show the ruined midgar out of context to the party and present it to them as what will happen if they make the 'wrong' decisions (read: right decisions from the original ff7 that lead to his defeat)
3. knowledge of the exact role of the keepers of fate and the awareness that manipulating the party into defeating them, as he does at the end, will allow the timeline to be significantly remade
4. physical features like the black wing seen only in later material like advent children

we can argue the vague semantics of how he knows all this (time travel, lifestream, whatever) all we like, but it doesn't change the fact that remaking timelines is now baked into the plot in a way that only nomura's tom****ery could bring

I took a lot of it more as visions, given Cloud sees glimpses of Aerith's death when Sephiroth isn't around. Also he's not the only character with knowledge of what the whispers are doing. Red XIII and Aerith know.

I don't remember Sephiroth explicitly having knowledge of his future defeat though and his one wing is a recurring motif of his going back to his Safer-Sephiroth form, so I doubt that means anything beyond a throwback.
