Torture? That’s the most inaccurate way I’ve ever heard it described. For some people it can be annoying, but I don’t believe it can be anything more than that. If you’re really that hurt over hoping for a character and not getting it, you should probably look at the character you got and learn to like it. I didn’t care for any of the DLC when they first showed up, but now I’m a huge P5 fan, I’m planning on playing the new Dragon Quest sometime soon, I’m a huge Terry Bogard fan, and I’m saving up money to get Three Houses. You don’t have to have what you wanted initially in order to enjoy it. It’s nowhere near torture.

You keep saying how much you loathe Smash speculation for months now yet you're still here.

If the whole thing is that painful for you, why not put Smash on a back burner until a new reveal and do something else?

If you're going to believe that their trying to make you think that the fighters chosen will be your favorites, then you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. Nothing they said implied in this. The idea of the Fighters Pass isn't that every fighter chosen will be your favorite. Expecting a false reality where that is the case honestly isn't a good mindset. Not every fighter is catered towards your interests, and that's fine. Keep in mind that your least favorite could've been someone else's favorite, and vice versa. It's not just about you here.

I'm gonna half agree with Snake here. Speculation sucks, and a part of me wishes that we knew what we were getting from the get go so we can decide if it's worth or not. FighterZ has the same issue, but for that it's worse because everything is prone to getting leaked anyway so what's the point.

However, Smash also thrives on hype, so I get why the contents are a secret. The payoff is worth it... sometimes.

Because you guys are my only friends. My other irl friends haven’t responded to messages from me for months. And now more then ever I need you guys for social interaction.

They really sourced it from 4chan without any other notable leaker backing it up.

Oh, and this leak seems suspiciously similar to what some people have already speculated on this site (Springtron replacing Springman, Geno revealed as the next fighter, 4 Arms reps in one, new Paper Mario).


I don't buy it.

So just because everybody wants it to happen it's fake?

I mean, it makes sense from a certain perspective. With AlphaDream going bankrupt and the Paper Mario series committing Hara Kiri, Mario RPGs are in a precarious place. But all the squawking from a certain Fighting Game Community reminds them that they have a long dead third option. Not to mention you live in the golden age of remakes, and who better to go to when your RPG series are in the toilet then the queens of RPGs themselves? And while they're at it they can use that fighting game as a marketing opportunity for the remake. It's just like Banjo before, where it just feels like all the pieces are finally in place. And lo and behold they were.

True, but it's so easy to attach Geno to fake leaks because of how "likely" and desired the character is and it all just comes across as wish fulfillment to me.

I'm just so used to seeing Geno "leaked" that it's pretty much a meme at this point.

Banjo was primarily speculated due to "Minecraft content" in Smash via Vergeben, who at the time was worth following.

Also Banjo-Kazooie are sure as Hell not getting remakes any time soon. Banjo and Geno ain't comparable right now with speculation until he gets good info.
